This little hole in the wall place is making some good food and appears to be family ran, even the kids help out. Anyhow the food is very tasty, I had a ribs hot link dinner with potato salad and collards. The food was so good I wanted to order another plate for the road to eat later, and after a bad trip to a local burger place, I really wished I did. They also serve a cake unlike any I had seen before. The cake is much better than it looks(to me). I enjoyed the food and would return. Would have not found without Unilocal

Hands down the best flavored BBQ in Oklahoma City. Not fancy by any means, but the quality of the smoked meats and homemade sides are amazing. I tried all 4 of the meats(Ribs, Brisket, Hot Links and Bologna) and they are so flavorful and juicy. The mac salad, potato salad, baked beans, collard greens and coleslaw are fantastic. Do not hesitate on coming here. Also, save room for the strawberry cake!!!

This is probably the best hole in the wall BBQ joint in Oklahoma. Everything is smoked enough and bursting with flavor. The sides are like Granny used to make. The 9 year old waiting on us was a nice touch as well as a testament to the family values contained within. The sugar icing strawberry cake was the star of the show!

I had the ribs and they were fabulous! Came right off the bone!!! Although the brisket was dry and I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. The people are truly great!

Best BBQ I’ve had in Oklahoma City. I’ve only been to two other places though. I’m also from Texas, so I’ve had the best in the country before. I will be fair and grade all BBQ by the same scale. So these grades are based upon my high standards. Brisket was 2 stars Ribs were 4 stars Sausage was 3 stars Beans were 3 stars Fries were 3 stars Macaroni salad was 3 stars Strawberry banana cake was 5 stars!!! The restaurant seemed clean too. No spots on my spoon or fork. Service was good too. I didn’t like that they only charged by the whole lb, not by ¼ lb or ½ lb. I would go back next time I’m in town.

Nice staff and good barbecue. However the cleanliness of the place and the condiments were dirty and needed a good cleaning. Not sure if I would come back, but could give a higher rating if they clean the place up.

Leo’s is excellent. Their ribs are fantastic. The brisket has just the right combo of juiciness, crust, seasoning and crunch. Their sauce is delicious. And the banana-strawberry cake is perfectly light, sweet and syrupy. The folks who run the place are kind and wonderful. I am lucky to have had the chance to visit.

Hot our Mild sauce served on the side at the table. Top it off with complimentary slice of sweet cake and iced tea. Very enjoyable. Great job.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. This is good BBQ with friendly service. There is nothing like good old BBQ washed down with liquid diabetes(pink lemonade Kool-Aid) and topped off with Leo’s cake! It’s worth the time to stop.

First off, I grew up on Texas barbecue and that can’t be beat. BUT this place gives it a run for its money. I had Leo’s special light, the rib had a great taste to it not too greasy but smokey, the bologna is something you don’t see in Texas but it was different and I did try it, good and fresh you could really taste the smoke, the hotlink, not sausage, was great not hot but nothing amazing, the brisket lacked the smokey taste, I do love the Texas method of cooking brisket and this wasn’t it. The baked beans were great, big chunks of brisket in them, potato salad was creamy, not mustard based which I prefer. There were two types of barbecue sauce, one is very sweet and thick and the second is less thick and spicy. While you wait for your food, which isn’t long, you are free to help yourself to the cucumber salad and pinto beans, the pinto beans were thick but really tasty and the cucumber salad was great very nice as its not common in barbecue places. Of course it came with a slice of cake which is still in my hotel room but will get eaten. As for the ambience, it’s a barbecue place the focus is the food, it’s like a shack but still warm and inviting, if you are a true food person you know the best food is served at hole in the walls that have been there forever.

Where do I start? When arriving at Leo’s, we were happily greeted by Leo’s son. He made us feel like one of the family told us to help ourselves to the crockpot full of wonderful tasty superb beans that were cooking and the cucumber salad. Our waitress made us feel like we were Queens for the day. Their BBQ chicken was over the top melt in your mouth good. And I think I will go back and request a gallon of their beans This is definitely going to be on my top ten list for OKC.

Great, the complimentary homestyle cucumber relish and the beans/pork/potatoes mix are good little extras. I don’t usually like macaroni salad, but I find theirs tasty. The banana strawberry cake is delish. I love that their sweet tea isn’t overly sweet either, most places I have to mix it 50/50, they serve it with a couple fresh lemon slices, perfect. Love the tenderness of the chop brisket too. And the playlist, if such things are important to you, always some oldie but goldie tune.

Heading to Austin by way of Oklahoma, we were passing thru OKC around lunch time and saw that Leo’s was regarded as possibly OKC’s best barbecue. Challenge accepted. The place is a total dive(in just the right way for a ‘cue joint), right on the corner. We walked in and were invited to sit in one of two dining rooms, this one included the barbecue chopping block. Awesome. Reminded me of my favorite barbecue setting in KC — Gates. Except seedier. We were served and introduced to the menu promptly. We decided to share a sampler platter that included two pork spare ribs, two pieces of chicken, hot links, bologna, fries, baked beans, and strawberry-banana-yellow cake. Ribs were good and smoky, if a bit dry. The bologna was a unique twist to the plate, and was smoky and tasty. The links had great flavor, too, but it was the chicken that stole the show! Yes, the chicken. Moist, flavorful, well-seasoned on the skin and smoky on the flesh, and tender to the last bite. The beans were plain, and were made MUCH better by tossing in a fair amount of the sweet, delicious barbecue sauce. Fries were fine and cake was cure-the-post-barbecue-sweet-tooth perfect. Overall rating = 3.5 Food = 4⁄5 Facility = 2⁄5 Service = 3⁄5 Ambiance = 5⁄5 Value = 3⁄5

This place is easy to miss when you drive by — don’t. Stop and come in. The food is fantastic and their service is wonderful. They were out of brisket so I had the ribs, links and pulled pork. Everything was delicious and the sides were spot on.

This place was pretty good, but I’ve had better. There’s nothing really bad to say. Hospitality was very good and the place was pretty run down but I think that added some good character to the experience. Their BBQ sauce is pretty unique, for me in a good way, but I know others who didn’t prefer it.(BBQ sauce has a cinnamon flare). What stood out the most was the complimentary relish and bean buffet which was a very welcome appetizer to our meal. The pinto beans from the little buffet bar were much better than the baked beans that came with the dinner plate. Finally, they served us a complimentary strawberry banana shortcake that also was good, but not over the top great.

Leo’s is famous for being the best BBQ in OKC, and I think they live up to the reputation. I went for the first time for lunch yesterday and was definitely impressed. I had the Leo’s special light, which comes with small portions of brisket, hot links, bologna and one rib, as well as two sides(I had macaroni salad and baked beans) and a slice of cake. The cake is famous, and for good reason! Yellow cake with a sweet icing topped with strawberries and bananas. It tasted warm and fresh too, which always makes it better. I’m not a big fan of bologna, but wanted to get a good variety of meats, and I’m glad I did. The ribs and brisket were tender, and the hot link was probably my favorite thing on the plate. When I go back, I’ll probably just get the hot link dinner because I definitely could’ve eaten a few more! If you haven’t had Leo’s, definitely go! It’s a staple for good barbecue in OKC and you won’t be disappointed!

Ribs were on point! The brisket is a bit different as I am accustom to Texas BBQ. The cake that is served is to die for! It’s moist, and delicious!!! The actual building is not so inviting. However don’t let that fool you. It’s clean and the staff is extremely attentive. The owner walks around greeting you and having conversations with all patrons. I would visit again when in the area again.

Soooo goood! Dropped in after landing from LA. Hotel suggested Leo’s and I had already scoped out this place as an option… so Leo’s it was! And I am so grateful. As soon as u get out of the car, you smell the workings of greatness. Our waitress, an adorable young lady, could not have given us better service. She was friendly, made great suggestions and was absolutely charming. My focus was meat– I wanted ribs and brisket… it came w slaw and beans, which were good, too… but that brisket, though! OMG– it melted in my mouth! I only wish they didn’t chop it up– I prefer the slices and being able to see the smokey ring — but i forgave them for it as soon as I took a bite. Did I mention… so good! Thank you Leo’s!

First time in Oklahoma, and we saw that Leo’s was rated one of the top bbq places in OKC. When we arrived it looked closer, but to our surprise we were greeted very nicely as soon as we came in. The staff were on point on providing great service. Charles, who I believe is the owner took the time to ask how we were doing which I though was great. Our food was prepared very quickly. I had the ribs… which were very tender. The baked beans were delicious, and the pound cake the serve is the bomb! I highly recommend coming to this establishment.

Had a fantastic lunch at Leo’s which serves what is, thus far, the best BBQ I’ve had in Oklahoma. As most note, there are no frills about Leo’s. I don’t know that I would call it a «dive,» but it most certainly is an older building and I’m sure it’s seen better days. But, it’s comfortable, and I think the atmosphere is great. We arrived and were immediately approached by a server. He told us on the counter that day was a cucumber salsa and pinto beans. After ordering, I went to check out the counter. The cucumber salsa was a basic cucumber salad with onions and tomatoes and dressed with vinegar and oil. I typically like this type of salad, and Leo’s was a very solid version of this dish. But, the pinto beans were even better. Cooked with some pork fat, they were VERY flavorful. I added hot sauce and they were fantastic. I consider the cucumber salad and the beans as 2 additional sides for free, they were that good. Most BBQ joints offer the typical onions, peppers, and pickles, which Leo’s has. But, I’ve not seen a place offer such quality for no additional cost. Very impressed. To eat, I went with the Leo’s Special Light. This meal includes a rib, a hot link, a bit of pork, baloney, and brisket, a piece of toast, 2 sides, and a slice of Leo’s famous strawberry banana cake. The price for this meal was $ 16.99. This may seem high to people who see the structure of Leo’s or think that BBQ is not worth such a price. This is absolutely worth it. It’s a lot of food, it’s great quality, and it’s served by very friendly people. If you want good food, you should be willing to pay a little more for it. So, while a $ 17 lunch is too high to do daily, when you eat food as good as Leo’s is putting out, it’s absolutely worth it. I went with potato salad and okra for my sides. The potato salad was the weaker of the 2, but it still was good. It’s basic mustard potato salad that a lot of BBQ joints have. The okra has a thicker breading, which I typically don’t prefer, but this was good. It had a nice crunch and was seasoned very well. I’d absolutely get this again. Of the meats, all had a nice smokiness to them. Additionally, all were fresh. I had nothing that was dried out or clearly reused from the night before. My favorite was the rib. It was tender and had a nice pull off of the bone. The rub was very flavorful without being too overwhelming. The baloney had nice smoke and was tender. I’m not a huge baloney guy, but it was good. My second favorite was the brisket. Excellent bark with a little fat, so it was moist. Excellent flavor here. The cake was as advertised. It’s moist with a few pieces of strawberries and banana served with it. It’s a standard white cake with some very good frosting. I can see why I’ve heard about this cake from so many people. As noted, everyone was very friendly. We were thanked by every employee in which we came contact. We received our food very quickly, along with tea and water refills. I had a fantastic lunch and will absolutely return.

This was another one of my stops on my road trip from Richmond, Va to Goodyear, Az. I’ve got to say, it was probably one of my favorite places that we stopped at. Initially walking in I wasn’t sure if I wanted to order anything, because it was dead, but given, it was close to closing time, I still went in. I was immediately greeted by someone who I talked to briefly on some of the top things to try, and she let me know that you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Needless to say, I think she was right. The portion size for the price, I felt, was very good. The food was hot, fresh and on point! My plate had beef brisket, smoke sausage, fried okra, baked beans and some toasted buttered bread with a side of sauce. I had so much that I had enough to save for later, had to be careful not to eat it all, as we had some more road to cover through the night. My friend got ribs, coleslaw, smoked sausage and baked beans. Both meals came with a strawberry banana cake which was melt in your mouth good. One of my goals on my road trip was to try out various local spots on what the city is «known» for. Glad I stopped at Leo’s, they definitely represent OKCBBQ very well. If I make it back to OKC I may have to go by and try the dine in experience.

I came here for some delicious smokey meat after hearing about this place from my cousin. And oh boy is it delicious! No wonder this place is so well known in the area. The bbq sauce is so good you could drink it! Try the smoked brisket and sausage. And the baked beans while you’re at it! The place is nothing special in terms of atmosphere but that is not why you come here! Get ready to get a little messy and enjoy some bbq lovin! This is probably the best thing I can remember about being in Oklahoma. I will be back for sure if I’m back in the area visiting family!

First off, Leo’s was very accommodating to us. We had a group of 20 come in with 45 minutes notice and not only did they make it work, they had attentive service for everyone. Leo’s was suggested by a customer at my wife’s work, and after seeing the high reviews here, we decided to try it for her birthday. So glad we did! Leo’s is a dive by intent I think, and it works for them. It has a laid back, friendly feel. They even offer complimentary cucumber salad while you wait. The prices are up there(plates go from 8 – 30 $ depending on how much food you want) but the portions are hefty. I ordered their special, which was a variety platter and subbed their Bologna for some smoked chicken. I dove into their ribs, trying it first without sauce. I probably could have feasted on ribs the entire menu, to be honest. Very well seasoned, meaty, and tender, Leo’s knows how to do ribs. I later finished off the ribs with their hot bbq sauce, which is excellent. Their hot links are delicious, with more flavor than pure heat. The beef is also good. I wouldn’t call it stellar, but it’s certainly worth ordering by itself. Sides I got were onion rings(wow!) and fries(so so), both at a small up charge. I tried the baked beans and they were pretty good. Kinds of a celery taste to them. Their lemonade is some sort of Kool aid mix but is quite tasty, and the drinks are relatively cheap(2 $ dine in or 1 $ to go). Each dinner comes with a small slice of their banana strawberry cake which is a perfect way to end the meal. Its hard to recommend this place enough. I’ve had the best of Kansas City for the past 10 years and Leo’s rivals many of them. A combination of service, flavor, and value makes this a must visit destination for anyone in OKC, particularly fans of what BBQ ought to be.

I am a creature of habit. I go to a new city hit all the worth while TV food Finds them Unilocal up the local heavy hitters. Well I got 2 birds with on stone. Leo’s is really Dive-y! The broken window and ratty exterior holds an OKC must visit smoke house. With a simple menu the choice is simple… Get everything! It is excellent. I like the ribs but everything was smoked to perfection. I was in near the end of the night ordered a 2 meat dinner and and while eating the lot master brought me some tender delicious smoked turkey. 2 sauce choices mild and hot they also offer a mixed but you can mix your own at your table. It’s a real BBQ joint inside very authentic to the genre, picnic tables vinyl tablecloths. Exposed beam ceilings R&B tunes. Perfect! Good food fantastic friendly service this place is a winner!

Oh the ribs have this crisp on it that I have never had; it was so amazing. The brisket is amazing as well with a great smoked flesh. The inside is as small as the parking lot, but so worth it. The neighborhood is a bit rough, but we’re here for food right? The bbq sauce is very unique, but after smacking on it for a second trying to figure out the recipe it started to settle in and I gushed it all over my plate. The menu isn’t very straight forward with the options, but I was able to mix meats(brisket and one rib) and get two sides and BONUS!!! it comes with a slice of the outstanding delicious sweet strawberry banana cake. Winning! The service was great. They were patient with me, answered my questions, and treated me with kindness like I was a regular even though this was my first visit.

First time at Leo’s after hearing good things. Just moved here so looking for good Q. I ordered the pound of brisket at lunch today to take out. The location itself is definitely a dive, in a good way. The staff was wonderful. Quick and very friendly. Since I had never eaten at Leo’s before I didn’t know which sauce to get so I got one of each, regular and hot. When I got home, I had to dig in. The brisket was good. But not great. There was some smoke flavor but personally I like a little more. There was just a touch of bark, so that was nice. Personally I didnt love either sauce. The regular was a little bland and the hot was a little too something. Still can’t put my finger on it. The cake that came with my dinner was very good. a very good experience, especially the staff and service. Although good, I think the food can be better and I will definitely be back for another try. It’s hard to judge BBQ in one sitting if it doesn’t knock your socks off. Probably a 3.5 but dont have that option.
