We love your Bread Pudding … Please keep it in the menu! The staff is very courteous and my daughter love the outdoor games the trees and breezes make it a comfortable to be outside.

Great place. The price is a tad high, but it’s a cool place to take a client, the wife, or your work buddies! I haven’t made it at dinner time for some of their moonshine, but I recommend the Thunder Boy for a meal, it’s great!

Hillbilly’s has quickly grown to be one of my favorite places to be at in OKC– really, I learned about it from a Unilocal Elite event and was back within the same week! They’ve got a great selection for po’ boys, and my favorite is definitely the Shank’s blackened grilled crawfish with their delicious Cajun cream sauce, which is not too spicy but still has a kick to it. I am a huge fan of their pretzel covered cheese curds — don’t leave this place without having this gem! Cheese curds from the The Mule have been my all-time favorite, and these easily beat those right out of first place. I also really enjoyed all three flavors of their oysters. Tonight I was back and noticed their dinner menu which I wasn’t even aware of the other times I’ve gone. My friends had the shrimp scampi which smelled incredibly enticing, and we each had a different limeade, which were pretty standard. The food here is so good, I just wish the portions would be a little bit larger!

First time here with co-workers. The interior was nice, and the service was really great! Our waiter, Tobi was very attentive & helpful explaining the menu. For my appetizer I got the crawfish SOS which was good. I wish it was a little hotter(temperature) when it came out, It was luke warm! The flavor was good, and they give you a good amount of crawfish. For my lunch I got the fried oyster po-boy, which was pretty good, I do wish the bread had some crunch action to it like the bread in New Orleans. I also elected for there home made chips, which were nothing special. I should have gotten fries, oh well. Next time. If you have only one desert item on your menu(which they do), it must be damn good… We all elected to get the bread pudding. Boy! This didn’t disappoint, this had to be one of best bread pudding I have ever tasted. This is a good spot for lunch. I will return!

Right up my alley, in automobile alley. I’m giving Hillbilly’s the benefit because I’m struggling between a 3 and 4 star. I will be coming back though to solidify this review. Came here for lunch today and first, the décor is awesome, I’m loving it. I was loving the music and everything about the patio and corn hole outside… it all works. Their menu requires a little explaining if it’s your first time, but the waitress we had was very attentive and on top of everything. I started with the fried pickles and onions which came with ranch. I really liked this, I thought they were breaded well and actually enjoyed the sweetness of the pickles. They almost tasted home made. I got the blackened crawfish on the baguette(Po-boy) topped with slaw and Cajun cream sauce. You have the option to make the entrée a Po-boy or over rice or greens. Also, if you want slaw or lettuce and tomatoes and your choice of sauces. The Cajun cream sauce was just ok, I will probably try another next time and I felt there was a little too much sauce for my liking but it was still good(I’m knit picking at this point). For a side I got the red beans and rice which was spot on and served in a neat little white mug. To top off the meal we got the bread pudding, which is the only dessert on the menu. THISIS A MUSTHAVE! They bring out a slab, freshly made, and in a cast iron skillet. Probably the best I’ve ever had. Like I said d, I want to try more from their menu and maybe some drinks to solidify a rating. Between the ambiance, service, and food, I couldn’t justify just a 3 star at this point.

It’s a pretty solid little joint. I wish I had found it sooner. It’s REALLY difficult to notice if you don’t know it’s there. I was told it’s under new management as of ~1.5 years ago, and that it’s the same investment group that owns S&B. They have an outdoor patio, and it looks like a fun place to get a drink in the evening. They keep really early hours for half the week, but I think it was Thurs-Sat they’re open late. The ambiance is fun, kind of bayou cabiny. The employees look very down to earth, and like they are possibly named after flowers. The hostess and our waitress were very friendly and helpful. The place seemed clean, unique down to the rolling crate style chairs, and well kept. The food was really good. The pulled pork comes with a sauce that is almost more of a pot roasty taste than your typical BBQ pulled pork, but in a good, different, unique way. The Roumelade was good. A bit more mustard than curry. The fries were excellent. I’ll definitely go back to try some of the other items. I’d ding it a bit for being a little expensive. The portion size is kind of just right, but you won’t have leftovers, and while good, it wasn’t over the top. The pulled pork was pretty plain… pulled pork and a drizzle of sauce with some onion. All in all I give it 4 stars, but well above 3 without quite getting to 5. Throw in a small helping of bread pudding with the lunch special at $ 12, and I’ll correct to 5 stars :).

Great experience. Food is probably a 4.25, but the space and staff bump the review to a solid 5. Really cool space, with a great patio. The outdoor area is spacious and fun. Equipped with a nice little fire lamp thingy?! Also has cornhole & giant jenga. The indoor space is fun too, with a great bar. As far as the food: The Thunder Boy was really good, loved the crawfish in the sandwich. The«Best Pulled Pork Ever» po’ boy is a large claim to make, but they deliver with a great sandwich. So often po’ boys eat greasy or soggy and neither of these were! The fries were good too, with a Cajun seasoning that had a subtle sweetness that is really satisfying. Also lots of fun dipping sauce selections. Also love how all the mains can be served as a sandwich, on rice, or on a bed of greens. Good Louisianan beer selection. Around 8 taps. Fun place to grab a bite! Definitely worth a trip downtown!

Visited OKC and my friends recommended this place. Cajun food is not my absolute favorite but I really enjoyed this place. Service: 3⁄5 — only because the food was kind of slow but the management did come out and apologize so that was nice. They were out of some beers and different flavorings for the limeaid with moonshine. Drinks: 5⁄5. Cherry limeaid was delicious. My friend got the ginger drink it was a little bit more jello consistency than we’d like… But limeaids made up for that. Food: 4⁄5. We got the sampler appetizer which was a plate of fried goodness. Everything on it was good but maybe a little more direction on what sauce was what(there were 4 of them) would be good. My friend and I shared– she got the oyster poboy and I got fish and chips. Oyster poboy was so good with good texture from the breaking and the slight heat from the sauce. Fish and chips– fish was a touch soggy and may needed more seasoning and spice. The slaw and fries were really good though. Overall, glad to have tried this place. Good ambiance and comfortable seating.

Went during lunch, wasnt too busy. Ordered the fried pickles and onions, onions were food but the pickles were had a sweet taste to them however they forgot it and we got it after our meal, they dis however comp it. My hubby ordered the crawfish poboy and fries and i ordered the shrimp and grits but changed it to shrimp poboy. The sauce was too spicy for me so hubby and i switched. They forgot hubbys fries also. Poboys were good though and staff very friendly so maybe just a one time ok experience. Would come again.

Fancy, delicious Cajun food. Love it! If a Cajun place can do an authentic po boy, then they’re good by me. And boy howdy do they do a delicious po boy… and their moonshine cocktails… yes please!

Understaffed. Came for lunch and I called in. Waited 40 minutes for my now cold food. Dear HillBillys, please hire additional people. I waited tables get antsy for drinks, tabs, and to be seated. Food is meh, not worth the wait.

Great food, great drinks and a great atmosphere. Kohl was our server and the head bartender. He did an awesome job serving us and making food and drink recomendations. My wife and I lived in Baton Rouge for 8 years so for us to give a positive recommendation for a Cajun restaurant, it has to be good. Oh, and leave room for the bread pudding with ice cream. Could be the best I’ve ever had.

Took my girls Robin and Heather to Hillbilly’s for our monthly lunch outing. It was fun. Every now and again a freight train would thunder through not forty feet east of us, and no one seemed to notice, like it’s a normal part of the ambiance. I guess it is… We started out with Willies Favorite Oysters. they were really yummy, way better than what I has at the Drake a few months back. Robin had the Mack Daddy’s Muff and said there were so many good flavors built into that thing she would need another one sometime to sort them all out, Heather enjoyed the«Best Pulled Pork Ever» so she just licked her lips and wasn’t inclined to dispute the title. I gobbled the Blackened Shrimp with an Ale Mustard sauce, this was a whammo combination. It took the shrimp from mild to macho, just what I wanted to go with my IPA. Sho Nuff they had Bread Puddin and it was good enough to make grandmas tussle one another for the recipe… They have a great brew list, 4 variations of Abita, a couple of IPA’s and a good variety of craft brews. I’m sure bar has some fine offerings, I’m not much into the hard stuff so I can’t comment on the moonshine and such. There was friendly aura in there, so we really enjoyed the place.

This place is awesome! My Husband and I were visiting the OKC area for our anniversary and decided to go somewhere local and different for lunch. We found Hillybilly’s in the Automobile Alley area and decided to stop in. The drinks were really good, I had a Huggy Bear Moonshine and he had a simple Jack and Coke. Both were excellent! We choose the Smokey Mountain Meatball, the Best Pulled Pork Ever and the Folsom Fries for lunch. SOOOO Good. Our Server Tim was great! He was really attentive and nice! :) I loved the décor and the ambiance of the restaurant. If we are ever back in the area we will be coming back!

Can you find Cajun/Creole in OKC? YES and it’s darn tasty! I stumbled upon Hillbilly’s quite by accident. It’s in the cutest neck of the woods nestled between the railroad tracks and a few restaurants and shops. They have a great patio to sit outside. It can get really loud if a train comes barreling through, but during our dinner, we were fortunate enough that wasn’t a problem. Many of their main features are inspired by their love of cajun/creole cooking. I had to try a po’boy sandwich. They serve them a variety of ways… on a toasted baguette, a bed of steamed rice, or mixed greens. I enjoyed the Shank’s Blackened Crawfish, fried, in Cajun cream sauce with slaw on a toasted baguette. It was mighty tasty. I’ll admit I’ve not been to New Orleans, but I would say this open-faced sandwich really hit the spot for me on a casual evening out in OKC. The Mrs. enjoyed the same sandwich as me, but switched it up a bit. Hers was grilled, with the dark ale mustard served with slaw on the baguette. It was also really really tasty. We decided to sample their house made gumbo and we were so happy we did. We both really enjoyed it. I paired my dinner with Bitter Sisters draft craft brew and I have to say, I left fat and happy. Both sandwiches and the gumbo were tasty. I am sure if I were comparing this meal to those in the French Quarter I’d be sorely disappointed. But if you want an evening colored with a bit of Cajun flare in a fun and hip atmosphere in downtown OKC, you should give Hillbilly’s a shot. Some evenings they have live music which I haven’t seen listed on their website, so it’s best to give them a call to ask if they have any entertainment for the evening. The staff is super attentive and makes you feel welcomed. My compliments to the chef and the whole staff at Hillbilly’s. I really enjoyed my first dinner with y’all and I know I’ll be back again soon.

Crescent City Creole right here in OKC! Hillbilly’s pulls it off with a combination of great food, warm hospitality, creative drinks, and comfy seating. What we loved best about Hillbilly’s was that it doesn’t try to be something it isn’t. They’re still playing The Avett Brothers on the radio and playing Thunder games and soccer on the TVs. There’s cheeky décor on the wall like a stuffed bass and a Burt Reynold’s Gator poster. The food represents the classics like chargrilled oysters, po’boys, shrimp, gumbo, and red beans, but isn’t afraid to wander up into the hills with entrees like: the Smokey Mountain Meatball, Shannon’s Reuben, and Campfire Drip Beef. Anything you try here is going to be tasty and filling, but not heavy! PROS: Moonshine cocktails, come on! Try the Ginger Jackass if you like a Moscow Mule. Any entrée can be served on a toasted baguette, mixed greens, or a bed of rice. CONS: You’re not eating there right now. PROTIP: Rent out their moonshine cellar called«The Hole.» It’s a clever space beneath the main seating area for private groups. On Thunder game days order the Thunderboy and you’ll get a select COOP beer for free!

Hillbillies, I really wanted to love you. And yet you have succumbed to the«we don’t know how to handle our popularity» game :-( Showed up at 11:40 am with a colleague for a quick lunch. Sat on the patio– awesome! There was one other party on the patio. Our server came out and took our drink orders. He brought the drink out and we were ready to order but he dropped the drink off really quickly and ran back inside. We waited. The patio started filling up with larger parties. One of the other parties had a different server come out and take their food order. I was frustrated. He came back out and looked at us and said«I’ll be right back I promise» but didn’t come back for about 10 more minutes. I was honestly ready to just leave cash for my colleague’s drink and head elsewhere, but the moment I was about to do that, he came back. We ordered and I said«we are in a really big hurry» because at this point we had already been there for 25 minutes. He said he would have our food come out very quickly. 15 minutes later our food was still not out. I told my colleague that we had to get back and she agreed. She went inside and told them we were leaving. They were appropriately upset and offered to box our food up. They comped her drink, a nice gesture. It still took about 5 more minutes to get our food in boxes. They told my colleague they have never been that busy before. A po’boy really isn’t something that is great for take-out. You want it hot and fresh! So, my first experience with their food was lackluster. I would not say we had rude service, they just really missed the mark this time. I will be back and give them one more chance.
