I’m the duchess of The First Edition Café & I never did an actual review until now that they are closing. I use the Unilocal app most and only more recently have you been able to do reviews from the app. I have done 13 tips through the app. Read those if you get a chance then try to stop by before they close after Opening Night 12÷31÷13. I am lunching here as often as possible before then. I just finished a bowl of their house made Manhatten Clam Chowder. I am really going miss their wonderful soups! I also had a regular size of this week’s fresh Juice Fusion. The Roadrunner Energy Boost was red apples, carrots & ginger. It was mighty tasty & hopefully the energy will get me through the afternoon at work! If you are a latte fan, this week’s specialty beverage is Gingerbread Mocha Latte. On the healthier side, the Vitamix Blend is Berry Up-Beet Smoothie made of oranges, strawberries, spinach, beets & walnuts. The lunch special is a grilled ham & cheese sandwich with a cup of soup & drink for $ 7.95. They have great sandwiches, paninis, flatbread pizzas, salads, salads & combos. They offer whole fresh fruit or chips as the side for sandwiches. They have so many things that I like that it will be hard to choose what will be my final selections! I am going to miss the owners & staff just as much as I will miss their food — great people, great service, great food! Don ‘t miss your chance to try or to re-visit the First Edition Café before they close. Maybe I will see you there.

One of my favorite little lunch spots by work– I don’t know why I wasn’t coming here until recently! I’ve had both paninis and cold sandwiches, and they are both super tasty. The paninis are a bit small, but since you get a piece of fruit(or bag of chips, WHATEVERCHIPS I HATEYOUANDLOVEFRUIT) you still get plenty full. The cold sandwiches give totally generous portions. It costs a bit more than subway, but the food taste oh so much better, and there is a great variety of meats and vegetarian options, good cheeses, and smoothie/juice options for drinks, as well as a ton of Jones sodas and a full espresso bar… which means steamed milk for me! In addition to their vegetarian options, they occasionally have those carob-y type of brownies and such not, all healthy vegan alternativey. Not my thing, but definitely something many people I know appreciate! The space is fairly small and can get crowded-ish around the lunch hour, but I’ve never had an issue with finding a place to sit while I wait for my food. The staff tend to be super nice, and give recommendations on sandwiches if you’re indecisive, too.

I don’t normally drink coffee, but yesterday I was feeling like something sweet. I walked into a cute art gallery that set me back in time… A time when I used to frequent little coffee shops during my college days at SDSU. The walls are filled with local art for sale. Pretty cool! Plus it’s attached to the library so you can also mingle there too. I love their menu. Everything sounded delish, but I’m on a diet(practicing portion control no less!) and came only to get a drink. I opt for the Vanilla Friyo, which was a vanilla flavored frappiccino but better. Starbucks has nothing on this place! :) Great location and great prices on food and drinks. Will re-review this place after I try their lunch.

If the parking was a little less chaotic in downtown Oklahoma City, I would be at this café constantly. The food, which is vegetarian and vegan friendly, is amazing. The proprietors display local artwork that gives the space a funky atmosphere. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The music is pretty awesome and the staff members are pleasant and accommodating. Overall, this is a really great little place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat!

While on a business trip out in OKC, I stumbled upon this little café while in dear need to some good lunch and experiencing a growing desperation due a lack of places to find it. Walking in, the place looked small but right away my ears tuned in to the good music playing in the background and my eyes quickly moved to the walls full of interesting local art. Good atmosphere, set. A moment later my stomach grumbled, forcing my eyes away from the art and on to the menu board. The menu board nearly fried my brain not only because I was starving at this point, but also because everything on it sounded amazing. I forced myself to choose(pretty much having to close my eyes and pointing) and was not disappointed. Fabulous, fabulous! My taste buds were ecstatic and my belly full. I returned the next day, and the day after that, and plan on being there everyday until the end of my trip. Also, if you are in need of a good coffee/espresso, they have a whole other extensive menu for that too.

I found this place when I really needed a little break from work! The coffe is good, they do latte art, have a coffee happy hour at 8am and 3pm, and the food is good and interesting. Their specials on the chalkboard are pretty cool to check out and they are on Facebook and Twitter if you want updates. One of my favorite downtown OKC places :-)
