One of the best BBQ places in okc! They need to add some items to the dinner menu like hot links and polish sausage.

We love Bubbas! I am from Chicago and may not be the best judge of BBQ but I like it. The food is very good but not five star amazing good. The sauces are very tasty and the servings are very generous. Plus, I’m all about the atmosphere when I go out to eat, I think it’s important to enjoy your setting just as much as your food and this place has a cozy feel to it. Almost like you’re in your childhood home chi wing down on moms delicious grub. We like to bring friends here when they visit. It’s a nice place to go for lunch. Super casual and quaint plus it’s in a great neighborhood in OKC. Grab a bite to eat then walk it off in the historic neighborhood.

I was in the mood for BBQ for lunch. I suggested to my husband that we go try Back Door BBQ again. My ideal BBQ sauce is either mustard or vinegar based since that’s what I grew up eating. My husband hadn’t been thrilled with his food on our first trip to Back Door BBQ. I told him he should give all places at least two tries before he writes them off for good but since I choose the last place we ate, he was free to stop somewhere else if he saw anything more appealing to him along the way. As we were driving down 23rd street, he spotted Bubba’s BBQ. We discussed it and determined neither one of us had ever eaten there before. I knew they wouldn’t have my either of my favorite BBQ sauces but was willing to give them a try. Their location is good and inside is nice for a BBQ joint. They were playing music and had the BBVA Compass Bowl(the what?) football game on the large TV with no sound. The people were friendly and the service was decent. The food is the most important part and, it was just OK. There were just two sauce choices — hot and mild with nothing special about either one. I ordered a pulled pork plate that came with your choice of two sides. The choice of sides was about what I expected unfortunately. I don’t like cold slaw, baked beans, or fried okra and the corn was a seasonal offering so I went with the fries and the Mediterranean green beans. The fries were skinny shoestrings, not my favorite style, but they were OK. I wasn’t sure what Mediterranean green beans were but I thought they might be interesting. I think they were your standard green beans cooked with bacon but they tasted like there was vinegar in the liquid. They weren’t healthy but they did taste OK. My pulled pork was neither the best nor the worst I have ever had so it was OK too. Now I can say I have tried Bubba’s BBQ and that it’s OK but the next time I am in the mood for BBQ, I will insist we go somewhere else.

I used to love this place! Used to, it has really gone downhill. They had a break in and some TV’s were stolen along with some other items. The owner must not have carried insurance, the TV’s haven’t been replaced and the interior has never quite been the same. The food used to be really good! Used to, it is not all that great now. It almost seems as though the owners have lost interest in the place. Too bad really, it is a great old house in a great location with a nice front porch, patio. I no longer recommend Bubba’s and that’s too bad really, it was such a great joint not so long ago.

Try the BBQ grilled cheese or black pepper sausage for something unexpected and delicious.

Best BBQ in OKC. The chopped brisket sandwich is the way to go. But I’ve had the whole menu and it’s great. The food is prepared the same every time. Plus it’s locally owned. Go by and check it out! PS– the sauce is the best I’ve ever had anywhere.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s owned by a sweet old couple, and it makes ya want to like BBQ. It was okay BBQ. Nothing special, and therin is the problem. Nothing really draws me back, outside of being in the mood for BBQ and it’s the closest. The pros 1. Nothing is outright«bad» 2. The NICEST old guy running the place. 3. Convieniant The cons 1. Nothing is «delicious» 2. Salty 3. Not cheap for not great food Like I said, I WANTED to like this place they just didn’t give me much reason to. I may or may not try it again.
If you want stuck to the bone, incredibly dry ribs with tasteless sides, then look no further! Seriously, this place has disgusting food and is WAY overpriced. My first guest should have been when the cook took out a full slab of cooked ribs, picked them up bare handed and they didn’t so much as attempt to look juicy or seem to want to slip off the bones. I would have honestly traded that meal for a McDonald’s McRib.
