If I could give a negative star I would. This groomer actually lost my dog! They had no spring on the door to shut it and when a large dog owner came in struggling with their dog, our small dog ran out (they obviously were inattentive). We spent that whole day looking for him only to find out when they called us to let us know, they gave us the wrong dog in their missing dog report (we have 3). I spent that whole day calling the wrong dog! They didn’t even have the decency to make sure of the dog they were calling me to report lost! It took 3 days to recover him and while the owner did help, it was obvious later it was only to cover his hide. Once we found our dog he was so relieved he was promising the world. He promised all 3 of our dogs free grooming for life (really the least he could do, what groomer or vet loses the clients?). I took this guy for his word. I thought he was genuinely sorry. First time we go in to take him up on his free grooming statement, the counter worker calls to verify (because of course there are no notes and everyone all of the sudden has lost their memory. Counter worker relays his message: he says «oh, it was only the lost dog» he’d groom for life. Whatever guy (at this point I know the type of person I’m dealing with). Next time we came in it was same scenario only the message was: «No I never said that. Never offered anything». The guy never had the nerve to tell me himself. He had his counter worker tell his lies and refuse to give me his number (which he was more than happy to share before). The owner is spineless. the employees are ignorant. Really. What groomer loses your dog, and then after losing your dog, basically tells you, yeah we lost him, we wasted a ton of your time and caused your family distress, then lied to you about what we could do to try and make it up to you, then insulted you, by taking back everything they said when they were trying to act apologetic. If this place goes out of business and the owner fails at every attempt thereafter to run a business, it’ll be great.
The groomers themselves will change through time, the owner (Tony) and management will not!
Don’t let this happen to your family. Steer waaaay clear of this place!

Before the customer service was great but for a while now it takes for ever to be able to schedule an appointment, the phone is never answered, and we’ve tried several times, and even though we always leave msgs asking for a call back we never get one
Today we had an appointment at 10am, Camila was on time. at 12:30 i went over there because i couldn’t get a hold over the phone and usually it takes no more than an hour. I got there to find out that Camila is «next» on the list since there were 3 dogs at 10am. I asked if the other dogs had an appt also because i didn’t think it was fair that camila had to wait 2 hours there and nobody called o even answer the phone to give us un update until i went there, the lady said: «the app only assures you that your dog is going to get a bath» not the time, i said, if you had more doggys and did not have the personal or equipment to accommodate all of the dogs maybe you should not booked them all at the same time, she kept saying we had more dogs and the appt only assures you that she will get the bath during the day, at this point i asked to speak with the manager and she said she was the manager, i asked her why she did not gave us a call to let us know the situation, i would of rather walk with Camila or do something instead of having her there waiting for 2 hrs to get service.
I understand that issues happened, maybe a groomer did not show up or something but the way the manager did not handle the situation, not even one apology to pretend that she felt empathy it was horrible, zero customer skills, she did not offer a solution or try to find one, like not over scheduling dogs, or saying i apologize we haven’t return your calls, or just say, we do not return calls,
BTW.i left and 20 min later i got a call letting me know that she was ready… so basically she was there at 10am, waited for 1.40 min for a 20 min bath and was finally ready at 1pm!

Took my baby for grooming and received a ½ the job conpleted, but charged full price! I was very disappointed with her grooming and have to pay for another grooming elsewhere; (

My dogs have been going here for the past 4 years. I have trouble getting ahold of them to make apts sometimes but everyone is usually nice once you get there. My dogs always leave looking and feeling good.

I love this place I bought my dog a cake (which he destroyed) a wash (which made him glow) and they always charge a great price for the amount of service that is received. The customer service is great and they always treat Mr Bruce Wayne (my 80lbs lab) with a lot of care.

Buddy&Lightning have been here approx 6+ times in the last 2 years. I’m pleased with their cuts every time. I love that the location is ideal for residents in 91 914, 91 913, 91 915! It only takes me 5 minutes to get here. They have a cute store inside too with goodies and accessories.

Too bad I cannot give zero stars! I do not believe that this place knows how to cut a Bichon. They shaved our dog down to the skin. Asked for the ears not to be short. They are so short that they stick out like Bozo the clown. Said that we didn’t want the large puffy Bichon head, but what they did looks ridiculous. Shouldn’t a groomer know what the breed is supposed to look like? Won’t be going back, our cute little Bichon looks like a shaved rat. Not happy.

I just realized that I haven’t updated my review in 5 years! Sometimes business management and employees change, making a business lose its luster. Well, preen 2 pristine continues to deliver on quality and service every time I frequent their business.
Shout out to Jill who is the best groomer I’ve had in my dog’s 9 years with humans! She really takes her time to listen to what you want. Plus, the dogs are pretty happy while they are there… which seems almost unbelievable as they are at the groomers… !!

I love taking my little boston terrier Bella! She absolutely loves it there! They do a really good job with her! Melissa is the best! She is patient and loving and will pamper your furry child!

I’ve taken my dogs here over the last couple years. They don’t need grooming often because they have short hair… But when they do go, they come back smelling AMAZING! Preen 2 pristine always does such a good job.
I had forgotten it was my dogs 12^th birthday so they had a bunch of fun treats that I picked up while I was there. And the girl working was super sweet and gave him a little birthday treat. My little old fat grumpy dog left very happy today!
Thanks for being so sweet to him! :)

Took my dog chata and her hair was bad like dreadlocks and well lets just say she looked like a street dog loll anywho brought her here and when they brought her to me I didn’t even recognize my own dog she looked so pretty and clean. They are amazing!!! I’m bringing my dogs here from now :) oh and only paid 35 since I was a first time customer good deal!:)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! Took my precious Corgi there when she was just 5 mos old for a grooming, and they took such good care of her. I continue to go there for all her grooming needs and I appreciate they remember her so well. Love all the doggie products as well, especially the Kaya & Dolce doggie couture!!!
I highly recommend this place to any dog owner!

I love this shop! I have been going here for 5 years since they opened and I love it! The owners are awesome, the groomers are awesome and now they have added more toys, food, treats, beds and more! I love bringing my dogs there and I never have to worry about them:). Awesome place!!!

They have taken exceptional care of my Zoey!!! 5 stars! The groomers and receptionist are great and friendly!!!

Based on the reviews I think I have made my choice. I was referred by a friend as many have also been and so on several different days during the week, I actually went to the store with the intention of making an appointment and checking the place out. However, everyday I went it was CLOSED. There were no hours of operation on the door. Perhaps that is a blessing in disguise that they weren’t open. However, my 9 year old Cockapoo needs a grooming bad! I’ll look at some of the others that are available with good reviews.

I was referred by a good friend who took her Shitzu baby; I trusted her and took my Maltese baby and for the first few time the groomer Rachel was great!
Unfortunately, she wasn’t there to groom my dog on 12÷22÷12 and I got stuck with Melissa… To make a long story short I was appalled, I wrote this letter to the manager as instructed:

Dear Tony:
I just got off the phone with Melissa, the groomer for my dog today. I called because when my dog got home today from the Chula Vista salon, he was full of knots.
Melissa informs me he had none after his grooming, so I wanted to show you just a few if them.
I realize that Maltese dogs may be challenging to groom, because of their coat, however I do not expect this kind of service especially since Rachel NEVER had a problem grooming my dog. Please share these photos with Melissa:
I included photos of 6 different areas of my dogs coat, that were matted and knotted.
To date 3÷6÷2013, I have not received as much as a «drop dead» from anyone at Preen 2 Pristine, which tells me they don’t need my business…
Needless to say, we have moved on to a fabulous place call Shampooch, its on the other side of Chula Vista and is not cheap, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.
So to the pet lovers in Chula Vista, be sure to do your due diligence for your 4 legged family members; beware of pet palors that just don’t care!

It’s time for my cat’s annual haircut. She has long hair and gets very hot in the summer.
Previously we had taken her to the Petsmart in La Jolla and they always did a great job. I was referred to Preen to Pristine by a friend of mine last summer and loved the name and the fact that it was close to my house.
When my husband dropped her off they assured him that she was in great hands. We went together to pick her and I noticed that the shop was somewhat easy to find and cute. We picked her up and they went in the back to get her, I don’t know where she was kept (kennel or just roaming around), she smelled good and had a cute bow in her hair. She seemed happy which is most important right?
Well with her little lion cut hairdo she jumped onto my lap when we got home and I was petting her and low and behold there were two large marks on her stomach. Not thin sharp marks like claws but more of a razor pinching the skin (if that makes sense).
My cat is all hair and only 8 pounds so to see where the groomer obviously didn’t pay attention to where the hair ended and the skin began was very disheartening.
Needless to say for my cat’s haircut this year I will be looking for another place.

Just picked up our boy today from a grooming appointment. Very friendly staff and easy to deal with. The one thing my girlfriend and I really like about this place is that they let the dogs run around in a room, as oppose to keeping all of them in cages. I know our dog hates cages so this is very comforting to know he doesn’t have to deal with that sort of anxiety when he has to get groomed. Since he is short haired, we just have to get him bathed, nails clipped, and his glands release. All of that costs $ 20 which I think is a fair price.
Note: They have recently moved their Proctor Valley location and are now located on Kuhn across the Eastlake post office.

I’ve taken my Yorkie here a few times and they give her such a clean haircut! They have little fenced off areas she can roam around in and she never seems to get anxious.
Whenever I took her to the bigger pet store groomers, she would start shaking and would be so scared. She’d hear dogs barking and be stuck in the little kennels, I felt so bad. BUT, she seems to be so relaxed at Preen 2 Pristine. The space to sniff around, nice people, and other happy dogs (and sometimes cats) must be why she’s always so happy when I come back to pick her up. Great service!

Brought Stefani in for her full grooming appointment at 11. I get a call around 1:30 saying she’s ready to be picked up. WHAT THE?! They do not waste time here AND they do a wonderful job. I’ve brought her to Petco and Petsmart; sometimes she’s there for 4 – 5 hours!
At Preen 2 Pristine, they also do not kennel the pups before/​after grooming. They keep them in a fenced off area. If they behave, they get to socialize with the other dogs there. How awesome is that? Preen 2 Pristine is definitely a MUST for dog owners!
Prices are fair too. I paid $ 35 with a coupon. Normal price is $ 45 which still isn’t bad.
