Jitterbug Cafe

My loved one is on one of the floors being treated for cancer, as you may expect I’m drinking a lot of coffee being that the hospital is like my second home now.
The staff is only friendly to the hospital workers, I Never.Never. Going to spend my money at this place.
The male Filipino Barista (I don’t care for his name, as he was a complete asshole).not once said hello.
He rudely did his homework and checked his cell phone and made NO eye contact as I ordered. He seemed lost, like it was a distraction from his homework to take my order. This was in the evening and clearly he has to much on his plate, if doing his homework had priority over his job… I’m going to be going around the corner to Starbucks from now on.
And the girls that work there also had customer service issues. Main issue, NOT FRIENDLY at all if your not a hospital worker. Stay clear of this café.

This review is for the Jitterbug Café inside the Sharp Community Hospital in Chula Vista. I imagine that they are successful because it’s the only place to get a decent cup of coffee without leaving the buliding to drive down the hill to Starbucks.
My mom had surgery one morning so I went down on the good words of the nurse on duty. Yuck. There were three people in front of me and they must’ve been employees (by the look of their uniforms) and regulars by the way the girls talked to them, they were friendly, chatty and fast.
Then it was my turn… I smiled because I thought the good vibes they were giving the customers in front of me would continue… wrong!
I guess the third eye on my forehead was obvious or the Satanic Priestess robe I was wearing was too flashy but as soon as I stepped up to the counter to order my coffee, NOTHING. NO HELLO, NO SMILE, NO «F YOU AND GO TO HELL, WHAT DO YOU WANT?:
I am seldom speechless but I am a smart ass so I pulled my «How are you today? I’m fine, thanks for asking.» Of course it was as sarcastic and smarmy as I could make it but they were so stupid they didn’t get it. Btw, my coffee was decent but I would rather drink a cup of instant coffee made wih hot water from the sink before I will ever go there and give my money to those two beyotches.
