Wow! As a self proclaimed coffee snob this is the place for me… I love coffee and I love being wired when I have a million things to do. I like my coffee with enough natural crema that it looks like a cappuccino. Leo gave us a tasting of all the different coffees they offer With different degrees of caffeine. I love full bodied high caffeine yet not bitter coffee so I ordered the ka’u pahala cold brew then had him heat it or «spike it» like they say then ice it since it was like 80°out. It was amazing and didn’t need any cream or sugar. He has you taste it first to see if you want any adjustments. Your first time will take a while but we’ll worth it!

Hands down, best Hawaiian coffee I’ve ever had. If you need a strong cup of coffee this is the place to tailor your coffee to the T. Plan for enough time to try a coffee flight. They are extremely helpful and informative with their mixes. I hope they expand their breakfast menu and add Açai bowls.

I absolutely loved this place ! The barista knew exactly what he was taking about and although I was a little confused at first with all of the varieties he was more then glad to sample the different types of coffee they had to offer. I went in with a not so great mood and definitely left caffeinated and buzzed up lol. This place is a gem and I will definitely come back :)

Absolutely mind blowing. I stopped in on my way to the library across the street and was overwhelmed by the menu. The coffee selection is amazing and you can have your beans prepared any way you want. I went with a blend(the name escapes me) that’s made up of wild coffee beans. The owner/manager roasted a fresh batch especially for me and even asked me how dark I wanted it. When I asked if I could get it french pressed we talked about the pros/cons of a french press and we settled on pressing it and then running it through a filter. They clearly know a lot about their coffee and are very passionate about every cup. In fact, it was the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had in the U.S.A. and I ordered one of their cheaper coffees. I’ll be coming back as often as I can.

Hawaiin coffee at its best! This place is amazing. I have to admit I was somewhat overwhelmed the first time I walked in and saw the menu but the barista Leanard is awesome! So knowledgeable, he explained about the different coffees and their ways of brewing. We did a cold brew sampling and though we are now hyped up on caffeine, the coffee is delicious. I had the oahu west and east cold brew with coconut. this is now my drink! i love how the coconut(haupia) gives it a mild natural creamy sweetness to it as opposed to a sugary syrup that’s too sweet. They really know coffee here and they make sure your happy with and love your coffee before you leave. Their prices are very reasonable but for you connoisseurs, they have a $ 250 cup of coffee which I thought I ordered by mistake that wouldve been tough to swallow lol… in any case, if you love coffee, you gotta try this place. Also I thought Id mention that the proceeds from their top dollar coffee goes to charities.

Went to this small plaza for some TJ Oyster Bar fish tacos and found myself in this cute coffee bar instead. The barista hooked it up with 3 samples of the coffee and still being undecided she just whipped something up. Great pick me up for my drive home to LA!

Coffey was amazing, not only that but this place has a unique drip system that not only is beautiful and fun to watch, bud does a great job. The owner is so knowledgeable, I learned so much. I just fell in love. The barista was super nice and gave me some great suggestions and samples. She took the time to ask me what I like and helped me make my decision. I am super happy with my choice and I can’t wait to come back for more. Oh and I got a yummy macadamia nut macaroon. The ambiance was so nice and peaceful, it feels like a get away. Starbucks can’t compare. This was quality coffee with quality customer service.

Instantly fell in love with this place when I saw the menu. Customizable coffee experience! They have 8 different Hawaiian cold brew coffees. That and you can add flavor and your choice of milk. Javier gave me a taste test of each and helped me order the White Chocolate Coconut Oahu West Cold Brew. So good. They’re expanding to 2 other San Diego locations. I know where to go the next time I’m back down here.

Pavaraga’s is a fairly new coffee shop, about four months old, located in the heart of Bonita. Glancing at its storefront from the neighboring TJ Oyster, one might mistake it for a store selling foreign luxury car accessories or something of the sort. The center of its storefront window displays a regal looking gold crest. Curiosity will beckon you to come closer. Good marketing tactic, if that was the intent. Outlining the bottom of its window were postings of awards and pictures of celebrities and dignitaries showing their support of Pavaraga’s luxury coffee. A freestanding sign outside advertizes their multi-cold brews, frappés, and ice teas,…but wait! «HAWAII’S #1BEVERAGE — WHITECHOCOLATECOLDFILTEREDWORLDRANKEDKA’U ICEDLATTEOVERKONACOFFEEJELLYSHOTS». It gets better, as you read further. «* UnilocalSPECIAL. CHECKINFOR $ 4.50». «What the heck is a jelly shot?» I asked myself. I would soon find out. The inside of the store was simple, yet sophisticated sans the gourmet café snobbishness. Javier, our friendly coffee master welcomed us to the counter. We watched him from the bar stools, as he created our coffees. Not only did I get our Hawaii’s #1 beverages for $ 4.50, I also received 10% off the total bill from checking in on Unilocal. While we waited for our coffee, I began to read one of the walls, on which hung four nostalgic photos of coffee history on the Big Island — coffee harvesting, an old coffee shop, Kona Nightingales(Donkeys used for coffee agriculture), and a Hoshidana drying rack platform. Our beverages were bold, cold, and SOLD! I enjoyed the coagulated slime at the bottom. You have to jab your straw into the jelly to break it up, then stir it around. It reminded me of a lighter Vietnamese iced coffee with a little surprise. :) Leo, thank you for bringing the coffee fit for Hawaiian royalty from the Big Island to our little, unincorporated community of Bonita(English translation: Beautiful). I can’t wait to try your other flavors!

I didn’t think that coffee and a laid back islander vibe would mix well together, but this place has certainly proven me wrong! The staff was great, the coffee was excellent, and the selection of desserts was really enticing… especially the Guava macaroons! I didn’t have much time to hang out, but will definitely be back. A really cool place to come to and wind down the day!!!

Barista Javier(sorry if I misspelled your name) educated me on coffee and his excitement for coffee really had my attention. Never had Hawaiian coffee before and didn’t really know what to order so Javier made me a concoction of a strong iced coffee with coconut flavoring. Very refreshing! He showed me different methods of making coffee and each method brings out different flavors. Had me try a hot brew which was sweet and aromatic, not very strong and a cold 12 hour brew which was strong, sour in a good way and not as sweet. Amazing! Great job Javier!

The staff was very friendly. The coffee was delicious. We were given suggestions by the young man making the drinks and both of his recommendations were fantastic. I had a chocolate coconut frap and my girlfriend had chocolate macadamia nut. The chocolate was subtle and not overpowering the coffee flavor. It’s a small place with a very quiet atmosphere. It doesn’t feel too trendy or too snobby. If you want good coffee with good customer service, go there.

Good, strong coffee brewed to perfection. I am sold on their coffee jelly, it’s a brilliant addition to any iced coffee concoction. A variety of brewing styles are offered. I highly recommend their cold brews. I’m no coffee snob but I loved the fact that they offered a sample flight of their coffees for me to taste. Since I am lactose intolerant, I am pleased to announce that they offer dairy free alternatives such as almond milk, soy milk and even a coconut(haupia) flavored creamer or syrup of some sort. Off menu options are also offered so it’s good to ask for whatever else is available(salted caramel, mint, pumpkin spice, etc.) Requesting some room for improvement on their customer service. The order process would go a lot smoother if they took the time to ring up customers prior to awkwardly starting the task of making the drinks so that they aren’t standing around trying to figure when to should pay. That, or simply request for their customers to take a seat as their orders are being prepared. Although it doesn’t work as well when the orders are brought to their customers even when they aren’t staying to enjoy them. Overall, a good place to go for quality coffee.

Started seeing reviews for this place on Unilocal and I wanted an iced coffee drink in this warm weather. I saw pics of the white chocolate jelly drink. That was enough to sway me over. This place is located in Bonita Plaza, right next door to TJ Oyster Bar. This is a Hawaiian based coffee shop. The owner, who appears to run the place, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He asked if it was my first time there and if I had the Unilocal check in discount(10% off). He showed me that with my drink I had to mix the coffee jelly on the bottom of the drink into the rest of the drink. It was a very unique drink. It’s almost like a Boba drink but not. You can taste the coffee jelly and sorta wanna chew on it. It was definitely a strong drink and I liked it. This is probably the first real coffee spot in the South Bay that is comparable to a North Park coffee spot(minus the hipsters). The driveway into this place is pretty steep entering and exiting(on both sides). Be aware to angle out of here if you’re not driving an SUV or truck.

Hey there luv. Mel M San Diego coffee snob hanging out with owner Leo. Feeling like I’m back home on my little island of Oahu. Local humor, local music, local knowledge of the history of the company and farms being passed down and shared with me. I’m honored for a Hawaiian day in SD. They offer Ice Brew Kailua style hot over ice in a Chemex, Ice Brew Kyoto Style(Yama Ice Drip), Coffee & Tea Jelly but let me back up. Pick your coffee Halekea $ 3 up to Kona Civeteno $ 100 for a regular or show how flossy you really are and order the Grande 10 for $ 250 for a regular cup. Ha! Right?! If you order the later two 100% is donated to Hawaiian charities. Aww see how I miss my local people. Walked in alone and had awesome laughs with the customers sitting next to me. Left with new friends. So Hawaiian style I miss. They have Manoa Valley which is where I spent 3 of my best years. It’s honoring Manoa Valley where the first coffee’s of Hawaii were grown and where President Obama was born. If lucky Neiman Marcus carries the canister. Leo shared dried pineapple from Oahu as he gave me a taste of the islands via 5 shots of different coffee’s they offered. This is a Hawaiian style coffee shop so its not your typical diesel shop. Its all about a coffee experience and crafting to the customers palette. It’s a mini museum with an1800’s hand roaster and you can sign up for coffee tasting and latte art. So the customer comes around and works the counter. Leo fantastic job braddah! Good fun hanging out. If we was home we’d be in the farm harvesting the beans! Mahalo for the good fun!

Came in with a friend after hearing great things about this place & we were not disappointed. Leo, the owner of this shop, took the time to craft our coffees while educating us about all the different types of beans & their origins as well as the different ways they brew their coffees. I’m no coffee snob, but I must say, this place is legit. I had a white chocolate latte made with the cold brew of my choice from some samples that Leo kindly offered us with coffee jelly which he recommended, saying it’s how the locals do it in Hawai’i. It was amazing. My friend had a Kona coffee, the he crafted at their coffee bar, over ice. We watched the entire process starting from freshly roasted coffee beans. Very cool. If you need a caffeine kick or even just some Aloha spirit, definitely check this place out. — Update three hours later, I’m literally still feeling the effects of my latte in my system. Leo did warn that my Regular sized cold brewed white chocolate latte was equivalent to about four espresso shots. Be warned, unless you ask for them to go light, you’ll definitely be on a caffeine high.

A hip clean laid back place with the Aloha Spirit. I don’t know much about coffee but I drink all kinds from all places. Their coffee is grown in a family owned farm on Hawai’i — that’s how it’s spelled. Flavor was great and beverage was carefully made. I’ll visit more time before I give it more stars. I look for consistency… Décor is laid back and chill and clean.
