Just finished an amazing meal. We had prime rib, New York strip, and two ribeye steaks. Not only were each cooked to perfection, but also the sides we delicious and healthy portions. Rebecca was our server and her attention to detail and knowledge of the menu made the entire event memorable. I highly recommend Center Cut if you want to enjoy a fantastic meal, I sure did.

There real review… bad waiting service and extortion… warning to owner… your workers who by the way are illegals, bartenders will over bill your customers and extort them out in the parking lot. on Several occasions my bill has been wrong and on another time the security guy extorted me on my way to my car… accusing me that I didn’t pay. fortunately I had my receipt to prove otherwise.. I plan on reporting this to the authorities since this is becoming a norm.

My lover wanted a steak but didn’t want to drive too far. Living in Chula Vista I couldn’t think of a good steakhouse off the top of my head. So Unilocal I went. He ordered the ribeye medium and was impressed. It was juicy with the perfect amount of red. The price was equally impressive. And our server Christine was super attentive. Will come back. With my next lover.

Didn’t even realize this place was here. Stopped by for dinner Saturday night. I feel like they really tried to make this place inviting. It is really nice inside. We had prime rib and the NY strip, both were great. Our server Eileen was fantastic. Will definitely be coming back.

Went for brunch awhile ago because the price was so right. Service was ok, we ordered menudo and never received it. Felt that the place was super crowded, not easy to walk around with our plate full of food.
HOWEVER, our plate was FULL of food! SO GOOD! Hoping that my next trip is a five star. I did notice a few large parties were there when we were, so maybe thats why it was extra crowded.

Delicious brunch buffet on weekends, highly recommend it. Rebecca is always so attentive, Chef Ramon comes out and talks to customers, excellent service from when you walk in the door, waitresses always coming to check if you need anything. Been there a couple of times and most definitely will be going back again, tasted a little bit of everything and it was all superb. Must go and try for yourself! !!

After reading about the changes made at Center Cut under new ownership, we tried Center Cut Bar. We loved it. The singer who used to be at the Butcher Shop was performing. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Since Butcher Shop is still closed and probably will not reopen as a steak house, Center Cut is the perfect place for a juicy steak.

I enjoy a meal where you are out home feeling. At Center Cut I get that feeling. The chef comes out to check on his customers this alone shows a great chef meeting customers taste. The Salmon dinner is the best! Everything taste great.

Nice Sunday brunch buffet — for $ 10, you can’t beat it and they didn’t charge us for the toddler. Beans, birria (goat), chicken marsala, fish, salad, Mexican rice.
Ambiance is comfy and pleasant with big round patent leather booths and Mexican music. Lots of families. We’ll come again!

First, ignore any reviews on this place/property prior to January 2015. It’s been totally remodeled and rebooted. It’s a gem… almost didn’t want to Unilocal it because I wanted to keep the secret for myself, but the chef/owner Ramon seems to be way too good a guy for that. Simply put, food quality on a par with higher end places in the Gaslamp at less-than-Black Angus pricing. Could be the best restaurant value in San Diego Metro. Excellent steaks grilled over mesquite wood. Proud, visible chef knows what he’s doing. I will be back regularly.

Good ambiance, good drink, but the music, need a little more of a variety, 97% of the music play is cumbia and then a bit of other, just need to play a bit of other music, like me, trying for the first time, was boring after dancing cumbia most of the night. I like the place but just need to introduce a bit of more, specially on weekend when people are going to dance.

Tuesday is salsa night — with a cover charge of $ 5 (which I think includes a lesson if you get there early). The dance floor is not large, but is adequate for the number of people who come. Although those there seem willing to dance with anyone who asks, you’ll probably have more fun if you bring someone with you rather than hope to meet/connect with someone new there. The music is a bit slower/more romantic than many other salsa venues. The dancers are a bit less experienced than many other places, but most seem to enjoy themselves enough to come back each week. There is plenty of close free off-street parking. If you come at night, be aware that the address and place itself are not really visible from Broadway — and that Center Cut is NOT the more prominently marked Steak House a few numbers south on Broadway.

Okay, this place has a new owner and under new management. It is now «Center Cut Steakhouse AND Mexican Grill». The food is BOMB. The best of both worlds. Authentic Mexican food (try the Tampiquena Combo; Carne Asada, Enchilada, Rolled Taco and rice & beans all for only about $ 10!) If you are in the mood for American food, their pastas to die for and the huge chicken cesar salad is delish! It is always empty when I go in there (which is about once a week!) because it is kind of hidden in the back of a dead strip mall. Try it out and spread the word! (They have a huge full bar as well!)

I’ve honestly never eaten here and go just for the salsa classes which are every Tuesday night at 8:30pm. Susie Nguyen is a great dancer so $ 2 for a beginner lesson is a steal. Mostly an older crowd of Mexican ladies that already think they know how to dance (but are horrible) and a few younger peeps just going to learn and practice. The waitress can be a pain so just show up at 8:30 to support Susie.
