The Formosa Club

I dont understand why this place is not getting a lot of good reviews. This place has reopened last year. Their new manager is very nice and friendly. The girls are all beautiful, and the place has some improvements. I would ignore the older bad reviews, the new management is a lot better now. I will definitely recommend this to my friends.

There are a few times in life when you are disappointed by a shot of Patron. One of them would be when you’re drinking dark liquor and someone buys you a Patron shot, the other is when it’s watered down. You want watered down shot, this is your spot.

This place gets such a bad rap but I like it here. Yes there are a lot of friendly girls running around but it reminds me of all my favorite drinky dive bars in Asia. I’m glad they reopened. And their 5 for $ 10 domestics will keep me going back on a regular basis. The little 99 cent taco stand outside is pretty decent too.

I normally don’t write reviews but after seeing what unfolded in March 2013t, I felt compelled to.
Honestly, based off the girls at this place and their hospitality I would give this bar 4 stars. They are gorgeous, very friendly and attentive. However, I was relaxing having a few beers when I noticed an inebriated patron to my left in which the owner was sitting next to him, or rather on him.
They talked him into paying for music and he made the grand mistake of pulling out a wad of cash ($ 20’s and $ 100’s). Needless to say the owner got very excited and she invoked her cunning ways. The inebriated patron was going to leave and drive when the owner stopped him. I thought that was a genuine gesture as she didn’t want him to drink & drive. To my dismay, she convinced him to stay and rounded up all the girls. Within the span of 1 hr, he must of done 6 shots. Not only did he buy 6 shots for himself, but he also bought each girl a shot. Every round was $ 28.00−42.00 and towards the end of the hour drink fest, even the girls stopped doing shots. Instead they chose to sip a little and pour the rest out. During this time, the owner continued to push the drunk patron to spend more money. I swear, if the circumstances were reversed and the girl claimed she was taken advantage of, such as rape due to being intoxicated, the guy would be guilty. However, since this was a guy being taken advantage of in his wallet nothing will ever happen. He was basically robbed of around $ 300.
Needles to say, go to this bar to have a good time and keep everything in moderation and perspective. If not, the owner will take full advantage of you and bleed your wallet dry.
Oh yeah, there’s an ATM in the bar too. How convenient!

I got excited about trying this place out with a friend. The girls working were very nice, and helpful (when they notice you). But with that being said, they don’t know when it’s time to kick out people that had waaaaaaay too much to drink and are trying to get into fights with others. Instead of calling security (if there was one) they calmed the guy down and started giving him more liquor. Not a good look for business. Also they drink waaaaaay too much while being on the clock. I feel sorry for the owner losing all that money from alcohol being consumed for free… Or should I?

Next door to my job, so that makes it easy to relax after, some gorgeous bartenders, jaw dropping!

Typically 2 – 5 girls working (I shot in a local pool league, and had to come here)
They have a dance floor, smoking area about the size of a bath tub, and a second mens room with just a urinal (convenient, especially on a busy night)
Nothing special good or bad.

Reading the reviews theres not much more that i can add thats not already been said. WoW! Star Bar #2 for sure expect theses ladies let there a** hang out literally. Its an atmosphere that defenitly will entertain u from the women workn there to the crowd. They have 3 pool tables that most people are occupying and a juke box u can play your own music. Friendly staff and the «regular men customers» were ever so willing to help out the ladies behind bar or anywhere else they were needed around the establishment. $ 15 for 4 beers was a good price so that would probably be the only reason to come back and be entertained again. The 3 stars are for drink prices and entertainment value.

Cool little dive bar! My cousin and I were looking for a place to party in Chula Vista but really didn’t want to go to your TGIF’s, BJ’s or whatever as we’re both pretty cheap b*stards!
I Unilocaled this place showed him the pics of the waitresses and he was sold!
Pretty mixed crowd in here and it looks like a lot of them are regulars because our waitress Pricilla immediately recognized that we were new!
Service is pretty good, the waitresses are very attractive and attentive and there’s a really chill vibe… Overall, pretty cool place to party all night.
I wish we had a bar like this in Corona because honestly I’d probably be here every weekend getting my drink on!

It reminded me of one of those banana bars in the filipines where girls in cheesy outfits and odd smells and wait for some older navy or air force pensioner to set their hook into.
I was way beyond needing a stiff drink to tolerate this place, more like a couple diazepam and shot of heroin !!

Its a dive bar. Packed Fridays and Saturdays with an older crowd. During week chilled spot to have a beer an unwind.

This place is something out of the ordinary for me.
I went once, and I think that’s about it for me.
Seems outdated, but then again it’s just a small bar.
drinks were cheap and the bartenders seemed alright.

Fun place. Very laid back and easy going.
Karaōke anytime, but I didn’t want to sing cuz the DJ was spinning some *GOOD* rap (& I normally don’t listen to rap)
I sang. No one listened, but that was ok. Just wish the waitress would have checked on my drink from time to time.
Waitresses were nice looking and kind. Atmosphere was non-​intimidating, relaxed, warm

What can I say about this place? I had seen this place as I was driving by and was scared because I thought it was a biker bar. I’m glad I decided to go in. It’s the best bar in Chula Vista!!! Formosa has the most friendly and may I add beautiful bartenders bar none!!! April and Jane are truly the best Mixologists EVER! You name it, they will make it.
Every Friday is a themed night, and guys you will not be disappointed! When in the Formosa with the Mosta, ask April to make you the «Rainbow Shots”(makes 6), and just so you know; Jane makes the best «White Russian.» When you are in the mood for the best «Wet Pu$$y or Blowjob Shot, this is the place to wet your whistle. Full bar however, there is no draft beer available. Non the lest with a 5 for $ 10 domestics beer special (on Tues and Thurs I think), you can’t beat it. During football season, you can expect some free food!!! Man I’m really going to miss this place :-(Follow them on FB (Formosa Chulavista).

A really Great place, especially Friday (Theme) night, where they go through your fantasies from school –irl, nurses, french maids, playboy club girls, etc. They try to have a party celebrating something every Friday night, some times with a whole pig (lechon), and a free buffet. Speciality drinks on Tue & Thur. T
he very best place in San Diego during football season, with 14 televisions with cable and direct tv, free breakfast and lunch. Karaōke after 9 on Friday and Saturday.
3 pool tables with tournaments several times a week.
Alice, the owner and the waiteress’; April, Raelyn, Jane, Saem, Ruth, and the rest are doing everything they can all trying to keep you happy.

This place ripped right out of The Twilight Zone or a scene from a bad movie set in Asia… like Bangkok Dangerous. So trippy that you can catch some Uncles singing some Lil’ John rap songs that will get the whole place yelling «EYYYYYYY»
This place really is a Star Bar #2. The differences are that they are locations and size of the establishments.
Honestly, when I first walked into this place I didnt know what to expect, but from the outside you can stereotypically say that it looks sketchy, but honestly, I think the spot is pretty interesting. It’s got ladies in exotic outfits – at least on the night I went – who are enticing you to get drunk. They are younger too, not some trophy lounge aunties.
The crowd is very diverse with people from all ages and ethnic backgrounds. This adds to the nutty karaōke singing that occurs as people slowly get blotto into the evening. The drinks are cheap and I really dont know if they pour heavy since i didnt drink any mixed drinks that night. Not a place I’d have gone too randomly, but definitely glad that my friends showed me the place.
The one weird part is all the TVs around the place, kinda looks like they are set up and ready to be bought or shipped out to a Swap Meet the next day.

EYE!!! Lemme see… I swear I felt like I was in a cheap ass whore house… trust me… I ain’t complaining… All the servers were dressed so erotic… oooowwweee… they coulda made your teeth melt!!! The crowd mainly consist of older filipino men and black dudes… Karaōke is free! That should be a good thing for all the filipinos out there… haha… that includes me… They’ve also got pool tables, for all you pool sharks… Parking is very limited… The streets is pretty much the parking lot… At first glance you might be a little iffy but trust me… its all about what you make out of it, and plus the servers will make sure you ain’t having a bad time… cause they’ll be takin shots along wit you

Wat can i say??? It’s a Filipino Hooters! A hole in a wall Star Bar #2. Don’t be surprise if you see your uncle singing karaōke at this place. The waitresses were very nice and one of them look like my homegirl. I text my friend and told her that I saw her twin. Y’know at star bar, they’re aunties working at that place. Well, these girls are around my age and HOT!!! I was going to sing karaōke, but my friend kept acting up so we had to leave. I will for sure come back to this place!
