Bambinos Hair Salon of Otay Ranch

Once again Blanca at bambinos did an awesome job on my 10 year olds hair cut! But the best part of it all is there’s no wait when you book an appt.

This place is great. I’ve been here twice now. I have to say the first time about a year ago I would’ve given it 3 stars. The waiting area had toys for the kids to play with and the toys were pretty dirty. Staff was ok, busy, not talkative and friendly like I would expect at a salon but I didn’t mind too much. The haircut was good. No problems there. Just crowded, messy, crazy busy, a bit pricey, and in and out.
Recently, I called two weeks ahead to make an appointment on a Sunday. My plans changed since making the appointment so I called to reschedule (hopefully for that same day or Saturday). They didn’t even have my Sunday appointment on their books. A little frustrating but not a big deal since I wasn’t in their lobby on a busy Sunday not having an appointment and expecting it. Made the appointment, no problem.
Business was slow considering we ended up coming in on a Friday (Presidents day weekend with kids out of school). Toys were clean. Blanca did a good job with my daughters hair. It was a wash, cut, and braid. My daughter is pretty mellow, very similar to Ms. Blanca. They seemed to work well together.
Bambinos is not cheap like a Fantastic Sam’s cut or something but, to many, the extra few dollars is worth the «kid-​friendly» atmosphere and the patient staff ready to handle a child who is not wanting a cut. In fact, while my daughter was getting her hair cut, another stylist was dealing with a young (maybe 3 year old) boy having a very hard time getting a hair cut. Poor little guy was screaming and crying. Mom had to help hold him in place. The stylist did a good job regardless and didn’t get upset or frustrated or anything.
Bambinos stylists have their work cut out for them sometimes so, I tip my hat to them. It takes a lot to deal with young children and even more so cutting off their hair which can be very scary for them. Thanks Bambinos staff for your patience and dedication to our kids!

They are good with kids but prices are a bit high. I come here because the ladies are great with my son and the salon is pretty clean.

creative hairstyles. The heart shaped design is our favorite!
Even better they are open on Sundays! friendly staff who cares about your
experience and knows how to cut hair.

After taking my son to several places and leaving embarrassed because of the tantrum he would have I found this place. He loves the car seats and that he can see a movie sometimes he will still act up but they are very patient and fast that works for me.

When we moved to Chula Vista, I looked around for a good haircut place for my kids. I have a 5 yr old boy and 7 yr old girl We started going to a place at the nearby Otay Mall, but there was always a wait (even with appointment), and pricey (most likely due to location). I thought their work was inconsistent and it seemed they were better with boy cuts than with girls. I would go btwn them and Super Cuts, not ever fully satisfied with a visit. Then I stumbled upon a place close to where I live. It’s a humble business compared to the competitor stores; it took awhile for me to notice it was even there when I drive past that main road everyday. I’ve gone 3 – 4 times already to get my daughter’s cut/​hairdo & always came out great without breaking the bank. Also it’s a definite plus for convenience. An elementary school is just across the street, so I know they have an adequate amount of business. Sometimes, it can get busy and calling for an appointment is best.
