Ms. Novella. .. thank you again so much. My teenage granddaughter is very satisfied with her very long and beautiful braids, and I am impressed with your skill and diligence. It is comforting to see when someone knows what they are doing. As always, the salon is comfortable and welcoming, and Wally is a scream!!! God Bless You always.

Rhonda, Rhonda, Rhonda. Pure short hair genius. Like some persnickety females, I like my hair a certain way when it’s styled and curled. Hate the big poofy supreme bumps but she made mine lie down with enough volume to create the perfect pixie style I wanted. What was amazing was that she squeezed me in. She could hear the desperation in my voice over the phone so that instantly made me like her. She spoke to me about what she thought of the transition of my hair since I was trying to grow it out without relaxing it. Gave me different options and she just did her thing and she was quick about it. She’s amazing, super personable and friendly and she’s my first review so GO TO HER!!! She’ll do wonders. Plus the atmosphere is inviting :)

I’m a very active woman — always going for a run, going to the gym or on a hike — and I don’t have time to constantly worry about my hair. I need to be able to put it in a pony tail, when needed, then wrap it up, take a shower and go to work.
I’ve been getting a relaxer since I was in high school, at Wally’s, and my hair has thrived. There’s a lot of criticism about getting a relaxer, but Wally is always willing to give me a deep conditioning treatment and informs me that the more heat I add to my hair, the more damaging it could be.
The salon stands for healthy, quality hair and that’s exactly what I have. The stylists are knowledgeable and take great pride in their work. Wally works well around my hectic schedule and is a great personality to be around.
I suggest when getting your hair done to take a picture in for reference. I always cut my hair in a bob and always get compliments.

I recently moved to San Diego, and I wear a weave, my weave was done in Houston, and the lady did a great job. I had an appointment here to have my hair done which I scheduled two weeks in advance well the lady cancelled on me at the last minute. I had to do my hair which sucked, I do not like doing my hair. So I went on Unilocal and decided to try out a place. I found Wally’s, Nowell was very accommodating told me to come right in and she would take care of me, and she did. Great job, yes it was more than I usually pay for a wash and curl, but the excellent customer service and job she did makes up for it.

I stopped into this salon and met with 1 of the stylist to find out how much it was simply cost to have my hair washed, flat iron and have ends trimmed. I was quoted a whopping $ 90…seriously either the stylist was trying to make a fool of me or trying to get over because I told her I just moved into the neighborhood. She said it would be $ 55 for the wash and flat on an extra $ 35 for the trim. I have never paid that much for a simple service and I’m not about to start now. Thankfully after posting this foolishness on Facebook I was pointed in the right direction of other salons that won’t take advantage of me.

If you are looking for a great stylist that cuts and style with minimal direction, Rhonda is the one for you!!! She specializes in short cuts and healthy hair!!!

i was very displeased with the service i received at this beauty salon. the people were generally pleasant and the atmosphere was overall positive, but, and this is a big but, friendly conversation does NOT make up for botched hair. i entered this salon with long flowing hair due to my mixed background. i had absolutely no relaxer on my hair and just some color; however, i was given a long speech by the owner on how «damaged» my hair was and how relaxing my hair would somehow make it healthier (oxymoron – don’t believe it and my hair was NOT unhealthy… it was frizzy from not using a shower cap in the shower that morning). keep in mind i had no intention of relaxing my hair. i wanted a simple wash and press. at any rate, i’ve had my hair relaxed in the past with no trouble and generally nice results so i gave in to the owner’s rant, which is my own fault. however, what is NOT my fault is the severe damage that was done to my hair by the stylist. i was promised «silky smooth hair,» (which i am accustomed to achieving from a visit to a professional salon whether or not i decided to relax), but the end product was far from smooth, let alone silky. SEVEN HOURS in the shop and i came out with extremely dry and course hair. my hair cut was also less than acceptable. i was SO upset yet i had to fork over the 160 dollars for hair that literally felt like dirt. i felt like screaming. i’ve been getting my hair done since i was a little girl, and i have NEVER in my life come out with hair the stylist insisted i wrap before i leave the shop so it would «smooth out.» if i have to leave with a cap on my head, you did NOT do your job right and you are clearly embarrassed by your work. i will NEVER go back to this salon and i would NEVER recommend this place to any of my friends. do not go here if you value your hair. they will mess you up no matter how beautiful your hair started out. trust me.
