Very disappointed in our experience at Zaytune today. My co-workers and I often frequent here for lunch and although we usually wait about 10 minutes for our food, today was out of control. There was only one order ahead of us(just 2 of us came in and ordered very simple meals of hummus, soup and a side order of chicken for my co-worker) and it took 35 minutes for our food to come out. We returned to work very late by the time we finished eating. In addition, our order was lacking. My lentil soup had no lemon(which is how it’s served according to the menu and the only way I like it. Had I been informed I would not have ordered it) and when I requested some I was told that they didn’t have any. Really? You opened your(Mediterranean!) restaurant less than an hour ago and you have no lemon? Also no soap in the bathroom. Also they changed their usual presentation of hummus to contain chunks of un-tasty tomatoes vs the usual fresh olives. This place is not cheap, but due to the lack of healthier food options in the area it is certainly always busy. I would love to support them but management needs to get it together. Have an adequate amount of staff at lunch times during weeks days. Don’t change/eliminate the little things that make the food appealing(especially when you wait a ridiculous amount of time for it). I won’t be back unless I’m desperate for food. It’s just not worth the hassle.

On Wednesday evening 1÷6÷15 I ordered a veggie kebab salad and a steak platter via delivery. I woke up in the middle of the night with the most severe food poisoning I’ve ever had. I am certain it was E. Coli based on the timing and severity. I missed two days of work and couldn’t eat or move the entire next day. I wrote them an email and received NO response. Apparently, they don’t care about food safety or their customers.

I figured since this was closer to my new place I could just come here instead of the Bridgeport location. Wrong! Unilocal let me down on this. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Shawarma Platter, which is what I always get at the other location. It tasted different from the first bite, but it is honestly not bad. It is just not as tasteful as the Bridgeport location. I also ordered herb fries and it came with so little and lacked flavor. Everything here just taste different, so I will not be coming back here. Even though this is closer, I will definitely go to the one on Morgan St. It is 10x better there!

This place never fails. Every time I go I have the steak schwarma and it is always delicious and juicy. I recently had the lamb platter and you get what you pay for! The meat is never dry. I also recommend the fries. And the staff is always friendly. I will keep coming here for a long time.

This place is just as good as its bridgeport location. I try and make a stop at one of these locations at least once a week. I have yet to find a place with fresh pita that can compare to this place.

Found this place on GrubHub, and so glad I gave it a try. They just delivered a steak shawarma platter, herb fries, and ginger soda. AMAZING!!! It is so awesome to be able to get real food delivered in this area, i.e., vegetables that are not deep fried. I drive past this place everyday, but have never stopped bc of the parking situation bc I’m disabled. I’m sorry I didn’t go in before, the foods that good.

They have quality food point blank. No matter what you order it is good. I love the plates, I like to mix it together gives you a burrito bowl feel. It is all made to order and fresh and hot. Well worth your time and price paid. The falafel is great, and the herb fries are worth the trip alone, get them well done and savor the dipping sauce or better get order and extra, you will be glad you did.

Awesome food! Best Mediterranean food I’ve had in a LONG time. We the salad with grilled chicken, steak wrap, and steak platter. The salad was so good– def didn’t skimp on the chicken or veggies. Wrap was great too– love how they use flatbread instead of pita. Lastly, the platter. everything was good but the steak had a strange spice to it, not that I disliked it. It was just different! And the sauces that came with it were BOMB. Will definitely be back.

Freshly prepared food. I had the chicken shawarma grilled platter and the vegetables that was served along were very fresh and juicy unlike other restaurants where it is pre-cooked. Chicken along with the unique sauce tasted great. Went back to try the herb fries and they were delicious. I can have those without any sauces.

Thank you for opening this location. I have came there every Tuesday & Thursday since a co-worker told me about this place. I LOVE the chicken breast wrap, so HUGE. Yummy as yummy can get. The mix with that chicken, lettuce, small bites of tomatoes and that mild sauce in that awesome grilled flat bread makes me feel so much better about eating. It truly is the BEST. I tried the cucumber salad too and WHOA another HIT. Thank you and you will see me every week. Thank you by the way to the awesome gal up front who let me try the lettuce mix because I was afraid I wouldn’t like BUT I loved it. Always friendly. Thanks again.

Let me start off by saying that I love the food & idea that Zaytune offers. However, at the Western location the woman manager really needs a refresher on what good customer service is. There has been two separate occasions where she has been rude to me. First time was when they first opened & being a regular at the original location I wanted to support the second location & even more since I moved a block away from the Western location. I went with my friend who was a first time guest & the woman took our orders with some attitude but I figured she was having a bad day. Our orders(2 wraps) took over 20min & left our food on the counter without informing me that my orders were ready to go until I asked her. My friend was disappointed in the customer service & I was embarrassed. Second time was tonight when after the gym my sister & I wanted a salad so we went to this location since it was on our way home. It was 9:30pm they close at 10pm & the door was open. I checked on Unilocal to see there hours & it said they close at 10pm & like I said the door was open. When we walked in & asked if they were closed she simply looked at us and said«yeah» & went back to cleaning. I drove to the Morgan location where the guys happily toke our orders & even remembered us! I get that it must be annoying having customers walking in 30min before closing but an explanation that the kitchen closed early & an apology would have been great. She obviously doesn’t like her job & I wouldn’t be surprised if this location doesn’t make it. I still love the food & would recommend ONLY the Morgan location. The guys at that location are funny, fast & delivery amazing customer service.

This is a great spot to get some great food, and it’s a good lead-in to Mediterranean food if you’ve never had it before. Everything is good here, and I had never heard of herb fries until this place(they’re freaking amazing, btw). You can eat like a king for under ten dollars, because they give you some pretty decent sized portions here, which is great. You should definitely check it out when you can. You won’t regret it at all.

I had been craving Mediterranean food for about a week. I happen to be in this area on a Saturday afternoon doing some shopping and I looked up some local places in the area and decided upon this place ZMG. Can I say I’m happy I did, I ordered the steak shawarma platter to go, just the delicious smell of it I ended up eating in the car. To be honest the hummus was the best I’ve ever had. The food was amazing and I will definitely be back if I’m in the area.

I love this place but I need to mark them down after my last two visits. The food is great, its some of the best food in the area and I will probably go back for more, BUT the management of this place is really slipping, and customer service is suffering. After several visits when the place was bustling with sufficient workers, I came on a day where they seemed to be understaffed, the efficient lady who was normally in charge was nowhere to be found. The hat-on-backwards cashier(ChrisJ according to my receipt) mumbled everything he asked and then got mad and raised his voice when i misunderstood what he was asking. He was rude and acted like he did not want to be there. He also forgot the extra sauces we asked for. I was annoyed but my food was good, so it didn’t stop me from coming back about a week later for more. This time ChrisJ was the cashier again, he was still mumbling but he seemed to have received an attitude adjustment, or maybe it was because my wife was with me this time. He was a bit more polite but still looked miserable. Another uniformed worker was out cold on one of the tables sleeping. No big deal, we thought, maybe his shift was upcoming or he just got off. We had a somewhat large to-go order, so we expected it to take 15 minutes or so. We sat down and waited. ChrisJ and another teenage looking worker seemed to be the only workers on duty. After 30 minutes of waiting, they come out and struggle to wake sleepy guy, who finally gets up moodily and goes in the back. After 45 minutes of waiting, we’re getting mad, we go and say«what gives!?» Sorry, he says, we’re cooking more rice and vegetables because we ran out. We were like, if you had told us, we’d have said forget the rice and the like 3 vegetables you put on each plate. We are super late! He apologizes sincerely, throws in some free dessert. We have to tell him make fresh fries since the fries have been sitting out done this whole 45 minutes and are now cold and soggy. I couldn’t help but wonder if sleepy guy was summoned to prepare the rice, and why it took so long to get him back there. I don’t expect two teenage workers to be the most organized or efficient(i wasn’t at my first jobs!), I was glad that they were apologetic and trying to be nice about it. I don’t really blame them! It seems like a manager should be on hand to stop things like this from happening. Kind of a shame, the food is so good, i’d probably still go back, but this kind of service is pretty disappointing.

I came today to eat with my husband and the food was amazing. The portions are huge we ate full. We had a side of hummus and omg it was sooo good best one I had so far. My husband had the steak wrap and he was happy with his meal. I had the steak platter and wow it was just to die for. We will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this place.

We were really craving some Mediterranean food for dinner and looked on Unilocal for a good place for take out. I ordered a grilled chicken shawarma wrap and my husband ordered a falafel wrap. We both also shared some herb fries. Everything was pretty tasty. The sauces are very good and some are spicy. The hummus is delicious. My wrap was pretty good for the most part. Some of the chicken tasted a little bitter like it was burnt or something, but other than that I have no complaints.

Zaytune: translation is Olive. Olive equals delish. Let me start by saying I love the fact that there is finally a Middle Eastern restaurant with good food near work. This specific location has been open since October 2014. Went in there for the first time today. Met the owner, Dan. Nice guy. Parking situation sucks because its street parking but there were plenty of spots available when a few coworkers and i went. I had the chicken shawerma sandwich with fries. Pita bread is made on site daily. It is warm and delicious. Sandwich is huge, but mostly because of the lettuce used in the sandwich. Nonetheless, it is still a big, tasty portion. Fries were seasoned well and also a large portion. The peach iced tea was probably the best I’ve ever tasted in my life. Yeah, that good! The seating area is just ok. Nothing fancy. Clean! It gets pretty busy around lunch time. I’ve recommended this restaurant to a few co-workers and they too have enjoyed it. Give it a try. Not bad at all.

Nothing makes me more excited than Mediterranean food. It’s rare to see a good restaurant open up in the south side. Especially a restaurant that has halal meat. Trust me it’s a big deal! There should bee an option for six stars :) I wish the business the best of luck.
