After at least 11 check-ins at this restaurant, the service and food are consistent. My last visit, I was going to order the Salmon which is excellent, however, I noticed the ribs were on special(which I’ve had before) so I had opted to have the ribs. Again the ribs were excellent. I really didn’t care for the potatoe wedges. I would have preferred just to have the regular fries. It didn’t ruin my experience. I would continue to recommend this restaurant.

Great ambiance. Always have great service when I go. Fresh water lobster Mac and cheese is delicious. Garlic chicken pasta used to be my favorite. Large portions.

Didn’t realize my last review was 2 stars, but since it was now i’m dropping it due to recent experience. Went in at night around 10 on thursday, no host or hostess, just stood at the entrance for about 5 minutes till one of the waitress told me just sit wherever i want. ok so i sat down and took about another 15 minutes to finally get some water and attention. i ordered the bison burger and boy should have have not even walked in that restaurant. The burger had such a strong smell to it but it was also very heavily seasoned. So i thought maybe thats how they make it here? But right after i consumed that burger i had the worst stomachache in my life It lasted even till today i’m having bad acid reflux and stomach cramps. How do i know it’s their burger? Well everything else is literally consistent with my diet and daily activity. That burger was what happened right before my entire night of stomachache. I literally couldn’t even eat the next day. And now i’m having random stomach cramps. So buyers beware, they might be selling some unfresh stuff

For going there a lot when I lived in Chicago, always felt the food could do better. Don’t get me wrong, it’s decent, but oftentimes felt the quality could be turned up a notch. The ambience is chill and always a big fan of the library area. If you’re on a date, definitely go to the library area. Otherwise a solid, casual place for dinner and/or drinks in the area.

Health conscience, great atmosphere to relax and chat. Long beer lists, and best bathrooms;)! The lobster Mac & cheese is worth the price considering it is half full of lobster meat. Also the artichoke cheese dip is great for a couples appetizer while sipping on a variety of beer flights suitable for any meal.

Checked this place out for gluten-free menu and they had an arrangement of options. Food was delicious and portions were generous. Also dog friendly! Will be coming back. ***Edits to respond to the owners question*** I had the mussels and artichoke dip! Both were rich with flavor and filling.

Food here is constantly mediocre. Have ordered a variety of different kinds of bar food and was always disappointed. Once tried their sangria and had to send it back, as it was undrinkable and had no alcohol. I will say, once while sitting in their outside area I had a very nice Moscow Mule. But I was pretty tipsy by then after a day of day drinking, so that may have been why. I’d skip this place unless you like throwing money at meh food and drinks.

Wilde is always a pleasure– competent service, great drinks, fun atmosphere(especially when it spills out onto the sidewalk on a gorgeous day like today), and creatively executed pub-food-with-a-twist.

Without a doubt my favorite GF brunch spot in the city — might even say my favorite go-to casual restaurant. Their gluten-free menu is expansive, and everything I’ve ever had here is so good. It’s nice too, because every plate that they bring out that’s GF has a little flag stuck into it so that you know for sure you’re getting the GF version.(A relief for people who are always worried about someone mixing something up in the kitchen.) I do need to note that they don’t have dedicated cooking equipment for the GF options, but for someone who’s not celiac or quite as sensitive, it’s still a nice option. I always get the GF french toast with a side of bacon. If I’m there for lunch or dinner, it’s usually the GF mac and cheese or the Wilde burger on a GF bun. YUM! And service is always amazing, attentive, and friendly. The interior is beautiful and so cozy. I love sitting in the back where it has a library-ish feel. Or for brunch it’s nice to sit out in the sun. Definitely give this spot a try, especially if you’re GF and don’t want to be stuck eating another omelette because that’s the only option for you.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, cozy fireplace, a gazillion beers and a library. Sign me up! We had drinks, flatbread(very fresh) and fish & chips. The menu is extensive and impressive with gluten free items and vegetarian choices. My friend drinks sulfite-free wine and they don’t have it so she ordered a mojito and said it was amazing with fresh mint and lots of limes. Molly, our server, was helpful and attentive. Our food arrived quickly, was hot and delicious. And, we sat right in front of the fireplace on a snowy April evening. There was a mixed clientele including families with small children. Definitely a place that I would go back to.

I think I’m in love… Fantastic food, fantastic staff, fantastic atmosphere. I look my girlfriend here for dinner and a few drink and had an amazing time. I’d you don’t get the meatloaf you are crazy. Great prices for the quantity and quality of food that you get. About 10 beers on tap and a gigantic menu. Start with the cheddar artichoke dip and your meal can’t go wrong.

I’ve dined at Wilde five or six times over the past four years, and have been impressed with the consistent quality of experience during each visit. I majored in English in college, so I will always have a soft spot for this place. It indulges the nostalgic side of anyone that loves a good Victorian-era novel. The décor is warm, cozy and inviting. It really makes you feel relaxed and ready to enjoy an excellent meal when the atmosphere feels so inviting. And, to mimic the comforting décor, the menu is chock full of comfort food. I just can’t give Wilde a full five stars because I think their food is good, not great. It’s a four star meal– really reasonably priced, and nothing on the menu is bad. The artichoke cheese dip appetizer is insanely good, and an enormous portion even for three or four people. But after the number of times I have dined at Wilde, I should be able to remember at least one entrée– not just an appetizer! Overall, Wilde does brunch, dinner and late night comfort food and drinks well. I’ll certainly be returning soon!

I want to like this place. We have had multiple recos. But after giving it 3 tries(weekend brunch and 2 dinners) I just can’t get on board! First of all I ordered and egg white omelette and was served egg beaters… Not the same. Had I been told I would have ordered just a regular omelette. Also the chick pea and kale dish is basically a can of chick peas on a plate w a few leaves of kale on top. They messed up my husbands order twice(no tomatoes). I give 2 stars for the quinoa salad which is actually quite good.

I’m giving Wilde 3 stars for now because we just went for a few small plates which were good, but not enough for me to have a strong opinion of the restaurant. I was really impressed that they had a gluten-free menu. We had the artichoke dip with gluten-free toast, curry fries, and I had a side salad. The portions were HUGE. Definitely more than a snack, but they were both delicious! I’m excited to go back again and try some of full menu items! The burgers and sandwiches look amazing. Definitely worth another visit!

Had lunch with a friend here today and enjoyed my experience. We sat at a table that was near the open doors to the patio, and it was a beautiful day and lovely view. I opted for the tofu scramble with cheesy grits, which had a great combination of spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms along with the tofu. My friend chose the jumbo crab eggs benedict — I tried some, and it was fantastic. Our waiter was very nice. The price was reasonable — $ 27 for two lunch items. Overall, I’d recommend this restaurant, and I’m sure I’ll visit again to try out more of their menu.

I had dinner and drinks at this bar on Saturday. The place was pretty packed, and there was a wait to be seated at a table. Luckily we were able to find 3 open spots at the bar in the back(there are 2 bars). They have a pretty great list of beers on tap that lists what is on tap as well as the next beer they will tap when they run out of the current beer. We ordered curried mussels as an appetizer, and they were phenomenal. I had never had anything«curried» in this way, but the sauce was delicious with just enough spice to give it a kick. It wasn’t a large order. Probably best to split between 2 people or eat it yourself. My buddies ordered the shepherd’s pie(looked amazing) and the bleu cheese burger which includes both crumbles and dressing. I just had a side Caesar salad. The lettuce was fresh and the croutons and dressing were tasty. The place is Oscar Wilde themed(hence the name). There is a part of the restaurant that look like a library, various quotes painted on the walls/ceiling, and posters that appear to be at least tangentially related to the time period and/or Oscar himself. I didn’t see any absinthe which, outside of literature, is the thing I most associate with Oscar Wilde. Overall the experience was good, but the food took a very long time to come out. Luckily our glasses didn’t sit empty for very long, so there was no reason to get annoyed.

I came here with my fiancé because we wanted to try somewhere new. We are fairly familiar with most of the restaurants and bars in the area and Wilde Bar is one of the few places in the area we hadn’t tried yet. I’m certainly glad we did come here as Wilde Bar is one of our new favorites after just one visit. m Wilde was lively(though not too loud) and very clean on the inside. They have a large bookshelf filled to the top. I am not sure if these books are aesthetic or if we can actually read them but it was interesting and charming décor nonetheless. As an added plus — instead of playing rap/country they played Beatles and Rolling Stones as well! Our waitress, Emily, was excellent. She was friendly, humorous and attentive. She never let us sit too long before she swung by to check in /refill drinks. First impressions mean a lot to me and the service she delivered today for my first visit ensured that I will return in the future with more people! Now, on to the food. We were brought a sample of banana bread to start, which was quite good. After a small sample, I already had high expectations by how good it was. I got biscuits and gravy. I’m kind of a creature of habit and that’s easily my favorite breakfast dish. The dish was SO good! The biscuits were warm, soft, and fresh. The sausage gravy was hearty and complemented the biscuits quite nicely. My fiancé got a spinach omelet which I tried and the omelet was very good! Wilde is a gem in the area. I would highly recommend it!

Robert the Bruce in a frosty mug and that juicy, in-house made turkey burger, thank you very much. That’s how I march through the door and happily feel my way around like a mole in this dark, sexy, classic private library of a bar. With maybe one or two exceptions, the meat is always ground smoothly and always has great flavor. It’s rare to find a top class turkey burger that takes on all of the characteristics of a fat beef burger. The lettuce and tomato trimmings are farmer market class and bond with the toasted bun and meat just so. Wilde indeed. This spot is a Boystown staple and is quite often stuffed with buffed and otherwise. It’s a very sexy, well done bar with lots of wood, everywhere. They’ve got it right.
