I would suggest the following reasons to have your tortas delivered: 1. The place is too small to sit comfortably 2. If you stay for more than 5 minutes, your hair/clothes will smell like fried food because the kitchen is separated by the mini-wall-seating-area HOWEVER, it seems like there are multiple negative experiences with delivery in which case go with take out. The tacos are worth it.
Not bad! My husband and I went in on my lunch break. It seemed like they were making a lot of deliveries. Inside was empty, and it was definitely clean. They have a long open bar like counter top to sit at. I had some tacos that were very good and my husband had a big burrito. We also both got a soda so our meal came out to about 20. They brought out a basket of chips for us which was really nice. The man taking our order was not overly friendly, but pleasant enough. The food was good, dont know if we’ll come back but it was a good experience over all.

Unilocal needs negative stars! I placed an order with this restaurant. I waited an hour and called to check on the order. After 15 – 20 calls and no answer I contacted EatStreet the site I ordered on. They confirmed that someone at the restaurant did accept the order, but after also calling and CALLINGTHEOWNER, there was no answer. EatStreet canceled my order and refunded me. This business owner should not even have a restaurant if they can’t run a business. I guess they have too much business to accept anymore orders.

Ehh. Ive had MUCH better. We ordered for a birthday lunch at work. The guacamole was watery. It was almost like they used The frozen stuff and tried to hide it. The chips were good. The tacos were dry… big tho. but dry. The steakl was flavored well. The carnitas had an OK flavor but were a little dry. I did like that the tacos came on corn tortillas(I can’t believe some places use flour). The rice was OK. kind of bland. The beans should have been called soup. Ive had refried beans more times than I can count. this was soup. I really wanted to get a quesadilla, but at over $ 7 for ONE. I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Um. its pretty much 2 big tortillas and cheese. Why is this $ 7? So I can’t comment on it other than to say. SEVENDOLLARS. DONTGETTHEHORCHATA. They must be using some terrible value mix to make it. Its pretty much cinnamon flavored water. It was completely separated when I got it. I stirred it and it promptly separated again. Ive included a picture. I’d skip this place of you can. With all of the excellent«hole in the wall» taco joints in Chicago, why settle for below average?

Ordered online for pickup, got here and they didn’t receive the order because the computer is «too slow». Then they ran out of ingredients for the fish tacos so they subbed it with some random crap. And again with the awful chips and salsa. No longer coming to this place.

We had delivery from Torta’s Tacos last week and were quite disappointed by their food. The chips were stale, the rice was dried up, the enchiladas were bland. They didn’t send us any salsa or sauces. We rarely throw food out but we couldn’t even get half-way through this meal.

Had the worst experience ordering delivery from this restaurant. I decided to order in from here(first time trying their restaurant) on Saturday and was pleased to hear that the food would get delivered in 30 minutes per the lady I spoke with on the phone. An hour passed, I decided to call the restaurant to get a status on my order. I spoke with the same lady I ordered the food with and she said she would get back to me after calling the driver — she never got back to me. I called again 1.5 hours after ordering my food, she again said she would check on the driver but never gave me a status on my order. The food finally arrived 2 hours later(not 30 minutes as I was quoted). I was clearly annoyed by the service at this time and asked the delivery guy if I could check the food to make sure everything was okay. The food looked wet/soggy and cold. I told the driver that the food was not acceptable and we did not want the delivery. The delivery guy was obnoxiously rude, never apologized for being late or for the bad service, instead he shrug and asked«are you going to take the food or not?!» I have yet to be refunded for this food as I paid with a card instead of cash(horrible idea!). Needless to say, I will never be ordering from here again. Ever.

Torta’s Tacos, the little taco shop down the street with bites of tacos, nachos, burritos and a big gulp of Horchata(surprisingly, no Tortas.) Connoisseurs can peruse the Torta-less menu which includes Tacos al Pastor, Burritos Carnitas, and Torta’s Ensalada Mixto(seriously, no Tortas). Overhead, the sounds of bachata and merengue echo off the walls as the sun & moon art whisper for me to wait patiently for my food. Always reminding me of the lack of tortas that Torta’s Tacos contain.

Hate to say it but this place was disappointing. The owner seems to be very friendly but the food was not up to par. I ordered the steak burrito. There was hardly any steak, instead they stuff it w lettuce rice and beans. I really would prefer steak over rice and beans in my burrito. The tortilla was cold and the lettuce was freezing, so that cooled down the warm meat very quickly. Being so close to home I was hoping for a good authentic option, as TBK is the only other option in the immediate neighborhood. Any how, won’t be going back here.

I was hoping for an authentic Mexican burrito in the area without driving all the way to Ashland. The burrito was not flavorful, rice was dry and the beans were weak.

I had a craving for Mexican and it was one of the few places nearby that I thought I would try out. The cashier helped me out with the steak taco suggestion and nodded her head knowingly and confirming my other two tacos choices were just as solid — al pastor and chorizo. She asked me if I wanted anything to drink, and even though I didn’t see horchata on the menu I asked and she said that they do! Omg, it was perfect! The tacos were taken home as it is a pretty small space, and they were delicious very flavorful and filling. The rice was nice and soft in texture as well. Prices were reasonable. The only misleading thing for me is the name, so I know it’s Torta’s tacos, but I didn’t see tortas on the menu. I saw it posted on the fridge, but I didn’t see it on the paper menu. Also I think they changed it where they might have had tamales available on the weekdays, but now it’s only available on the weekend. That would have been my additonal purchase, but I guess if I come on a weekend I will have to do it!

Welcome to the hood! Great burrito. Chips looked store bought but taste amazingly fresh and crispy. Solid place for grabbing food on the way home.

This place is solid. A bit hot if you’re eating in during summer but worth it for free chips with delicious salsa. Mango habanero quesadilla was really good. Steak fajita was tasty and fresh albeit a bit overpriced. Tortillas come out piping hot. Will come back for dilla and other menu items I still want to try.

Tasty tacos made with plenty of fresh ingredients. Many options to choose from and their guacamole is pretty good as well. Really fast service and easy to find. The staff is really helpful and accommodating. What more could you want?

This place is great! They give you the option to build your own burrito, so I made a grilled veggie fajita burrito with guacamole, pico de gallo, rice and beans. My burrito was made very quick and I even got some chips with it for free(on a carry out order). The food is fresh, delicious and very filling. The place itself is small and cozy with some tables to sit down and eat at and its very clean. The employees were also friendly and very helpful. They also accept credit cards! I would definitely recommend Torta’s Tacos.(:

Came here on a whim after hearing some good things. I ordered the fish tacos on the chef’s recommendation which were outstanding. The ingredients were fresh, the fish was fried perfectly, and the sauces/salsas that came with it had great flavor. The portion was terrific for only costing $ 10. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who likes fast fresh Mexican food. Definitely some of the best fish tacos I’ve had. The staff is terrific, and I will certainly be back again soon.

Stumbled upon this place and stopped in for some tacos. We were blown away! Authentic, delicious tacos for a good price! The restaurant is small, but cozy and the owner is in the works of opening a patio for outdoor dining! We fell in love! We were planning on going back tonight but due to the weather decided to order delivery. Food came super fast and piping hot! We will officially be regulars. Definitely recommend any of the tacos! We have now tried them all.

I’ve had them deliver twice. The first time they showed up much earlier than posted and that’s usually never a problem, but I wasn’t around. So my nachos sat around with the doorman for about 15 minutes. The second time they delivered on time and the food was perfect! I’m hooked on their Nachos! The food is priced just right and the portions are generous.
