The Hideout at the Riverwalk was a great addition for the City to test some pop-ups in summer 2015. The Hideout, true to their original location, features live music outside. There’s lots of picnic tables with a nice river view, and the inside features a huge projection of TV, so you don’t have to miss your sports games. The bar is exactly to spec of the original location, and they’ve got some clean bathroom pods in the back. I guess this is the last weekend for the Hideout Riverwalk, but I wish them luck in getting the bid to return for summer 2016 and beyond.

The hideout riverwalk is a pretty chill place along the river. From the outside, it looks like a generic restuarant/bar along the but it has a nice, chill, hangout kind of vibe inside. They check ID before you get in. There are a good number of tables outside where people sit next to the river. Inside is super cool! There’s a bar in the middle of the room and places to sit /play all throughout the place. The selection of beer and wine is huge(I stuck with the classic PBR). Overall, chill place if you need a break from all the touristy traps along the river. Come, sit down, and escape from all the mainstream masses.

Hideout Riverwalk is a hip spot along the Chicago river walk just immediately west and down from the Wabash bridge. Grab some quality beer in an awesome setting: the river runs adjacent and skyscrapers tower overhead. Check the schedule as they often have live music! There’s also a ping pong table«inside,» which isn’t so much the interior of a building as a spruced up, enclosed concrete space below the upper Wacker roadway. The Hideout Riverwalk is owned by the same people that operate the famous Hideout bar /music venue.

This hidden little bar is the best. There’s live music practically every night, they have a limited but interesting drink menu, an incredibly inviting and relaxed atmosphere, and it’s super cheap with a unique theme. It’s hidden, low key, has a gorgeous view of the Chicago River, great service, and Chicago specific events like Big Star Taco Tuesday, where they serve tacos from Wicker Park’s beloved Big Star from an indoor food truck. This cute little bar will undoubtedly become a staple on the Riverwalk, full of locals not tourists.
