They precook their meat and it sit’s for hours or probably days. They don’t serve fresh food. It’s so flavorless its Sickening. I won’t lie I’ve been back a few times because it’s by my house and it’s open late. But Save your money. Taco Bell does a better job than these guys.

I have been to this place a few times, and the only reason why I come to this place is because it is close to work. Honestly, I really like the manager who is here. He’s a very nice guy and fun to talk to every time I come in. On the other hand, some of the other ones, not so great. For instance, I went in today to get a burrito for my co-worker and myself, and I ordered two steak burritos. First off, he didn’t even wrap it correctly, and as soon as I got back to work, the burrito was not wrapped I just opened. That is one of my biggest pet peeves when eating a burrito. all of the meat fell out of the burrito because it was not wrapped right. I mean, I understand that can happen, but the past three times this has happened. I hope something changes with the food so that I can enjoy my burritos and continue coming back here.

Its nothing special, they grill their burritos which makes it a little more crispy, and I like that. But they tend to over charge. I try not to make a big fuss about things, so for a $ 1 and some change I’ll let it go. I normally dont pay attention to the prices, but its the 3rd time it’s happened. I got 2 breakfast plates which was like $ 5.75, so all in all it should be like $ 12/$ 13. But he charged me $ 14.95. I should have said something, but by the time I realized it was too late, I had left already. What a shame cause I really like this place, but I don’t think I’ll ever go back, out of principle. So, a word of advice be mindful of your bill!

Let me start out by saying that if I could give it less than 1 star I would, but I can’t so it stays at 1. The problem with the place is that the workers bring you in with great hospitality. They make you feel welcome and at home. Now, once this hospitality is gone they lay the hammer on you. I got the burrito suizo. It was terrible. The meat was over cooked and filled with gristmill. The salsa were subpar for how a Mexican restaurant usually is. The bottom line is. DONOT come here. Steer clear. Do not be fouled by the workers because in the end. you will pay for more then just the meal.

Excellent food and quick! I highly recommend the steal fajita plate. They also have corn tortilla options to be healthy!

No no no. Please don’t eat here. This is what I wanted to tell the couple walking in as I crept out clutching my stomach. The cheese in my quesadilla was rancid— it tasted like blue cheese gone bad, and that’s just wrong. Pastor taco was not good, and it had sour cream and cheese(like I wanted more dairy from this joint after that whack dilla) with lettuce instead cilantro and onions. Open drain and no soap in the ladies’ bathroom. Ew. The only thing remotely decent was the horchata, good job on that one… otherwise, this place is grody.

Definitely my go to Mexican place after midnight. They’re fast and the meat is always cooked to perfection. The atmosphere isn’t the best, but the quality rivals higher end places around the city. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, highly recommended.

Just had chicken burrito and ended up tossing half of it. Loaded with gristle which was disgusting and had a pile of it along with rest of burrito I didn’t eat. I wish I had been more patient and eaten at Chicken/Gryos place across the street.

We came here as a last ditch effort to find some quick and easy takeout in Lakeview. The food was prepared quickly and the price was reasonable. We got the three cheese enchiladas and the tamales — each came with Spanish rice and beans, which were nothing special. The tamales were homemade but obviously frozen and then just thawed in their plastic wrapper to order. Overall the food was just average. So if just average is all you’re looking for, check out Taco & Burrito House.

Terrible! Insultingly unsavory. Steak was old. Chicken barely decent. First time ordering for delivery and it wasn’t clear that the meat comes with nothing but a little lettuce. You must add every ingredient. So, since there was nothing to mask the terrible flavor of the meats, it was easier to develop and opinion. The lettuce was great though! Guacamole is ok. Nothing special. The pickled jalapeños and carrots were as old as the steak. Avoid this place — unless you’re drunk and don’t care.

NEVERFAILS! This is my favorite taco spot in Chicago hands down. When I used to live by there I was there faithfully lol I started speaking Spanish when I’d go in ;) haha the cool thing is they know me by name so it’s always good vibes. Taco dinner is my fav. Check them out if you ever get the chance. Drunk or sober it won’t let you down

I really wanted this place to be good because it’s very close to me and I love Mexican food. I walked in thinking to myself«Yes, these hole in the wall type Mexican places are always the best.» I don’t think I could have been more wrong. This place was horrible. The food is very cheap and is made with cheap ingredients. My chicken burrito looked to made with a meat that resembled chicken but certainly did not consistently look or taste like it. To provide a point of reference, I enjoy Taco Bell sober but especially so after a late night, and can tell you that this place makes Taco Bell look like gourmet Mexican. A bit harsh? Maybe. I would never go here again nor would I recommend it to anyone else… sober or not.

Honestly this place isnt half bad, but it certainly isnt half good. I mean yeah when you’ve participated in three blunt rotations, have had one too many whiskey drinks, and are a little bit wired from that stuff you probably shouldn’t have snorted over at Parliament, this place is pretty good at 4 am in the morning. In the famous word’s of Billy Mays BUTWAIT. the caveat… try coming here sober. It’s really not that great. When my girlfriend came to visit from Los Angeles, she thought this place was completely mediocre — which it is. The meat isn’t exactly flavored to well, but hey it’s cheap and open for your midnight drunchies. Overall, it gets the job done, but that steak burrito is no comparison to the wealth of good Mexican joints you can find in California. I miss California :(

This place hit the spot as I needed some eats to soak up the heavy drinking I did last night. I wanted tacos, but saw the junior breakfast burrito would be better bang for my buck @ $ 3.75…tacos were $ 2.50 each and I wanted 3 lol Breakfast burrito as eggs, chorizo, potatoes and cheese… really good 1:30 am food! Im pretty sure it would be good if I got it @ 10am as well. They stay open until 5AM

I try to visit neighborhood places as often as possible. With that said I’ve passed by this place numerous times and finally stopped in. I ordered the chimichanga dinner to go. Filled with steak and cheese and basically fried on the flat top. Dinner includes lettuce, tomato, sour cream, refried beans, rice, and drink. All for $ 7 and change. Large amount of food. Not the greatest quality as the chimichanga was somewhat saturated in oil.

I found the tacos to be pretty terrible both times I went here. Maybe the other items are better, but I seriously doubt it. There are two Mexican places on Irving & Sheridan that are better. Go there instead.

So I’m a sucker for just some good old fashioned, no thrills mexican food. This place is it. Sure you can go down the road a few blocks to some other establishments that will charge you $ 10 bucks for guacamole while they make it at your table and 15 bucks for enchiladas the size of a fruit roll-up, or you can come here. For $ 22 bucks we each got a giant sized dinner plate(enchiladas, burrito), 2 sides, and a drink, plus a huge appetizer of steak nachos. The best part was the fact that it’s delicious. On top of that, it was even clean inside, so we stuck around and ate it there. Real latin music playing in the background, win!
