The food here is always spot on. Great little expensive-​ish go-​to lunch place if you go to town.

Management/​Owners are real Douchebags and a half.
I stopped in a while ago and while this place has been in Printers Row for decades, ever since I can remember as a kid. I walk in and place my order and a really nice guy behind the counter said, «I have a meeting with Walter Payton’s son, we’re going to talk Monkey business.» And then he begins to look at me, and I’m looking at him like OKAY, AND…
I will never support a business from horrible people such as this. If you are a person of color I encourage you to do the same. Spend your money where people treat you with some respect, and not tolerated. Meanwhile most of the kitchen staff was Hispanic.
I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN.
The whole encounter was awkward and showed me how small the guy was, but there was no denying what he was trying to say.

Turkey burger is phenomenal… The meal was 14 bucks so minus one star because of the taxation

Anytime I am visiting my folks, I make it a point to stop in and grab a meal at SRO, it stirs a craving deep inside of me that wont leave until it has been satisfied. It should also be noted that I am not one for ‘special orders’ or in any manner a customer with a complicated ordering habits. Yesterday was different, I’ve been craving SRO, but at the same time craving a good portobello burger. I had a grand idea when I saw they offered a portobello burger.
I prefaced my grand idea by asking the man behind the counter if i could ask a question before assuming my grand idea would fly, knowing logistically there could be circumstances preventing my idea from coming to fruition. I asked if I could have the SRO burger, with a Portobello mushroom instead of the burger patty. Seems pretty simple to me. Instead of a simple no or a valid reason as to why it would not be possible to do, (such as not knowing how to ring it up, etc.) I was met with laughter and told that it was ‘too much work, I don’t think we can do it’. Lol. Really?! By the way– they were not busy and I was the only customer at the counter.
So, I walked out, bummed, craving SRO even more, and had a disappointing meal elsewhere. I hope the man behind the counter had trouble sleeping last night, thinking about that interaction and how he could have handled it better.

I went today for an Italian Beef and was told it is no longer on the menu. Instead it has been replaced by a meatball sub. I got the meatball sub — but it’s no where near as good as the Italian beef! Sad.

Decent spot with a fun atmoslhere. Fast casual (think Flaco Taco, you order then they cook it and bring it to you) dinner spot with a Chicago sports theme. Lots of fun Chicago sports photos, jerseys, and other odds and ends. Also has fun jazz music in the background.
I got the gyro with fries and it wasn’t bad. Meat wasn’t that hot, but fries were scalding and lightly crunchy. Plenty of meat in the gyro and the lamb was thick cut, not the typical thinly sliced stuff.
Staff is friendly enough and service timely. It is a little hidden, but next door to well known spot Sofi, so not hard if you know the area well.
Prices are reasonable and worth what you pay.

the turkey chili is so good. Also try the turkey burger with all the trimmings. Nice area to eat at tlunch time in the summer time.

So I’ve been going to this place for years and am finally able to write a review. Do Go… Go Again and Again and Again. Love the turkey burger. They will add anything you want on in (for a price) or take it the way they make it. It’s still awesome! Small dining area but I guess that’s why they call it Standing Room Only. A must on the burger list. You can now order online and pick-​up your order, however they are a bit slow in that area and you may or may not get a confirmation email with your estimated pick-​up time. I did not receive a confirmation time, however when I arrived, the order was ready.

Boss burger was delicious! Wish the patty was a little thicker, but still delicious. Would definitely grab another one.

Brought the family here for lunch. Great chicken burger, good salmon burger, and good grilled cheese and chicken tenders. Crinkle fries were excellent and BBQ sauce was great!
I really enjoyed the vast collection of sports memorabilia on the walls!

I had no idea, after all these years. This review is solely for your bean burger, which is the best I’ve ever had. Period.

We live a minute walk from this place so it’s very convenient whenever you feel like getting something quick. My daughter LOVES the chicken fingers and fries. Her cousin was in town this past week and I think they went there 3 times for lunch and paid for themselves as it’s only $ 6. The BBQ chicken sandwich and SRO sandwich are great but I usually only get it if it’s on special which is $ 10 for sandwich fries and a drink. If it’s not on special, the sandwich is about $ 8 or $ 9 w/​nothing else. I can do turkey burgers and had it once and it was good, not great in my opinion.

Best Gyro outside of Greek town!

When I first arrived, the cashier didn’t greet me. Ordered a turkey burger the other day w/​fries. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was a turkey burger it was brown and looked like a regular one… anyways, it was just OK. Their fries were the crinkled kind, no luscious steak fries here. I had the special that comes with fries and a drink for a little over $ 10. I thought to myself I should’ve just gone to the place down the street. Walls are adorned with sports memorabilia and signed autographs of various players. This is a laid-​back place where you can grab a quick bite with edible food and subpar customer service.

Best Chicken Caesar salad in South Loop. Heads above Panera and so much faster. And they serve it with yummy garlic bread.

Volunteers at the Printers’ Row Lit Fest all received a $ 10 voucher to redeem for food at SRO. I wouldn’t have known this place even existed otherwise. I’m so glad the Lit Fest introduced me to them! Their food and service were both amazing. I ordered the turkey burger, and it was delicious. Great size, didn’t take long to make, and just an all-​around good burger. I will definitely be coming back here as a paying customer soon. Kudos to SRO for supporting such a great event.

I have been here many times, we used to live across the street in Printers Row and recently visited a friend in the area. The food is pretty good. It hits the spot when you are craving something you shouldn’t be eating.
Good Turkey burger although my friend didn’t think it was great. Maybe I was influenced with all the signs saying it was voted best turkey burger and is now famous. Couldn’t tell you who voted it as the best though.
Gyro was pretty tasty, that’s one of my favorite foods so hard to not make me happy with one! Also like their charred chicken salad, Greek salad and steak salad. While I never order them… big fan of the mozzarella sticks I steal off other people plates!

This place is in my building so its very convenient for me to grab some fast food when I don’t feel like venturing out or ordering delivery. I’ve had their burgers, hotdog and fitness plate so far. The food is decent but not mind blowing. It’s a good spot for a simple meal, but if I didn’t live in the area I wouldn’t make a special trip to eat here.

Standing Room Only is a good option if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or burger takeout. It’s more than one step up from fast food, in my opinion– although don’t expect anything that’s mind-​blowing.

A great spot to grab a quick bite and will fill you up every time. I always try to stop at SRO when I’m in Printers Row. This burger joint is the epitome of a Chicago lunch spot with memorabilia on the walls and games on the TVs. I always struggle deciding between the Italian Beef and Gyros Sandwich. Both come with a solid helping of crinkled fries. What I like most is that I don’t feel like the food has been sitting in the kitchen nor is it overly greasey.
