After reading the other reviews I have come to the conclusion that my taste buds are off or I did not eat at Epic Burger. I checked my receipt, yep, I ate there. So it must be my taste buds. I ordered the Junior Beef Burger Combo with cheddar cheese and all the fixings. The only thing I could taste was the ketchup I put on it, the lettuce and the pickle. The meat was FLAVORLESS! Also, there was special sauce?!? Couldn’t tell. Plus, the cheese was sooooo melted it just looked like glue and tasted like nothing. Needless to say, I won’t be back. A star for the fries and the fountain drink.

This place was delicious and super easy to find an autoimmune protocol, paleo diet friendly meal here– plus the meat is antibiotic free! Also very fast service.

I have to say, burgers with grass fed ingredients always peak my interest! They also had fried egg and avocado, so you know I was telling my friends to come with me to try this! I had friends who took photos of this place while we were on a conference so it was definitely on my bookmark list while visiting Chicago! I was overall satisfied with my meal! The burger was delicious and I felt I had ordered just the right amount when I ordered the junior epic burger. I ordered my epic sauce on the side instead of on the burger so I could dip these addictive fries in it. And all the flavors meshed together so well! I also greatly appreciated and got really excited for the wheat roll all over the photos. Very delicious and I almost ordered a second burger! As much as I enjoyed the meal, I have to lower my stars and rating for service. When initially ordering my food, I was baffled as to why my burger was missing so many ingredients I had asked to put on(and theoretically paid for), including a full order of fries. I asked for avocado and fried egg and they were missing from my food. They had forgotten tomatoes in my friend’s burger as well. I also ultimately noticed they didn’t give me a receipt and were unable to pull it up to check if I had already paid for it or if I was paying extra for fries I clearly ordered. They also didn’t include my epic sauce on the side when asked. When approaching the cashier who took my order, he walked off and deferred it to someone else, which to me seemed very off putting. Luckily my friends and I were able to ultimately get all the components of my meal which were missing, but I had lost my appetite initially due to the sub-par customer service. I ended up getting everything I wanted but after the employees not exactly having the best tone about it. I ended up eating maybe 15 – 20 minutes after my friends did due to the amount of missing items plus feeling less excited about my meal due to how the employees made me feel. I’ll come back for the food, but hoping service improves and that I get what I order.

Lots of seating for a quick lunch. Kind of pricey but expected because of the non-go, organic, good stuff here. I went with an Epic Classic burger with bacon — no onions, no tomatoes. It was delicious. Epic sauce reminds me of the sauce from Cane’s chicken. The wheat bun tasted fresh and the fries were fresh cut. I loved loved loved the fries. The ketchup at the tables are also GMO free! All natural ketchup! #winning Good for groups. Good for a solo lunch.

I came here along with my two sisters when my oldest sister was in education at Roosevelt. I completely loved the burger from the first bite and had to take a break to process everything. Completely recommend for anyone in the area.

This burger spot is across the street from my house & is perfect when I don’t want to cook. I definitely recommend, it’s a good cross between fast food and a sit down restaurant. Still Fast service but so much healthier & plenty of options for meat, cheese, sauces & toppings. Charlene helped us last time; she sang Happy Bday to my friend & was so patient while we picked out our burger options from the menu. An Epic experience! My only wish is that they had a rewards program.

Pretty good… but not quite«Epic» Tasty, all-natural, simple menu… great fries! Sort of a cross between Smashburger and Five Guys, but with fewer options and not quite as much flavor. Definitely worth trying, but don’t get your hopes up too high.

Very delicious option for burger craving patrons! Try their double patty with fresh egg, and their legendary epic sauce. I also like the root beer, and lemonade options they have for drinks. The fries are very good as well! One of my fav places to grab a burger!

Went here and got a hamburger with bacon and a fried egg. Not too bad. Fries were good, good quality, friendly staff, and great wait time. Even on a busy Wednesday night only took about 10 minutes. Everything is fresh, which is another plus.

I only eat turkey burgers. This burger was unlike any other; juicy, sweet, not greasy, not overwhelming in any way. Grilled onions, cheddar, lettuce, tomato and pickles on a wheat bun. The service was amazing and the atmosphere is chill.

I was stuck in a conference next door and stepped out into the rain looking for anything other than the flavorless wraps that were being served up. What a find! $ 13 for a burger and malt is reasonable when you factor in cleanliness, friendly employees, fast service and really good food. The burger was perfectly cooked and piping hot, and the made it exactly as I requested it. I would definitely return!

I’m puzzled by the less than stellar reviews for this place. I pride myself on my knowledge of fine burgers, and the burger here literally blew my socks off. LITERALLY literally. The Epic Burger is nothing short of amazing for a fast food chain burger. Perhaps whether you’ll love Epic Burger comes down to whether you like Wendy’s.(For my part, Wendy’s is my favorite national burger chain.) Like Wendy’s, Epic’s patties are loosely packed and come with a distinct salty flavor. The cooked patties are then surrounded by the sweet, sweet love of an excellent bun. Epic is basically Wendy’s turned to 11, and, in terms of regional, upper-scale chains, neither In N Out nor Shake Shack can come close. The fresh fries on the side was likewise great, and the shake made from actual strawberry ice cream really stood out. Summary: Epic Burger lives up to its name.

Amazing! I had turkey burger with avocado and special sauce. It was sooooo good. I also had French Fries and although they look really oily, were absolutely perfect! Great service! Very positive experience for my very first time at Epic

The burger is nothing extraordinary but it feeds you which is the most important thing. I would never go out of my way to go here though, if I’m in the area I’ll consider stopping by. Keep in mind, it’s 6+ for only a burger. $ 10+ for a meal. Parking is fairly easy, their is meter parking for $ 4 an hour just south of Harrison street. They have a very large seating area with outdoor seating. the restrooms are fairly clean and you have to get a key from the cashier for it. They offer free wifi, but it’s never worked for any of us(but not a big deal, here for your info). What can really kill your experience is the cashier that serviced us. There was no greeting, no smiling, no nothing. I felt like I was at the DMV. It was just give me your order and keep moving along. And she worked super slow, there were about 7 – 8 customers behind us and she was taking her sweet time punching in the order. I’m not kidding, the guy before us ordered one burger meal but the time to place his order took 3 minutes… Eventually another cashier came and opened up another register. The waiters were awesome though. They bring the food to your table. So the depressed cashier punched in our order wrong and my sister didn’t get her fries. When we told that to the awesome waiter, he quickly ran to the back and got her fries and didn’t ask us to pay for it.

With the motto of «A More Mindful Burger,» I envisioned some meat substitute being erroneously called a burger. I also imagined my fatness being sad while I attempted to smash some science experiment passed my taste buds. What I actually received was so much better! This place definitely earned the manta of «Epic Burger.» I was fresh off covering the first day of the NFL Draft in Chicago, IL, and after being around so much testosterone, tapas will not due! You need something filling and you need something All American in nature, since I just finished covering American football. I was strolling down many unfamiliar streets and came across a place that had two words of mystery and wonder on their moniker, Epic and Burger. Well, what is more American than a hamburger combo? Now it is not lost on me that the hamburger is probably a German invention named after Hamburg, Germany, it truly is not, but I am sure the way we tweaked the item makes it quite American! I walked closer to the door and terms like«humanely raised» and«caged free» made me feel as though I let America down with meat substitutes for this omnivore with tendencies that leans towards carnivore! Ready about freshly baked bread is never a bad thing, but for some reason, when you start tinkering with meat, I just get nervous about the product! They were advertising nitrate free this, cheese from Wisconsin that, organic milk whatever. Wait, isn’t milk organic anyway? I digress! I decided to walk pass the doors and at least smell the place. When you walk in, you are certain that there is actual meat in the place. You cannot step far into this place without noticing several good write-ups from various media outlets about this place. I was not drinking the Kool-Aid, so I was definitely going to be unbiased in my tasting. I was not sure what to get, so a quick look at the menu let me know two things, with the first being, this place is pricey. The second thing being that they keep a small menu, which means that you have the potential to get tasty food and not filler items to make up for lack of taste. I was uncertain what I should try, so I went with the manager’s suggestion and got a cheeseburger fully dressed, with egg, and the same with a turkey burger but with cheese and an avocado slice. Can have a grain fed, all natural beef burger make a difference in taste and texture? I am happy to report that it does. The meat does not have quite the rubbery feel you get from eating burgers that has plenty of fillers inside. The taste is almost sweeter to the palette as well. You definitely feel the difference in the freshly baked bread as well. They use real butter on the bread, so that was a great treat, but I think the real star of the night for me was the sauce. I enjoyed the fact that my beef and turkey were not only juicy, but also spiced well, but something about that sauce sat right with me. I appreciated that the fries were texturally very sound and season quite well also, but if I had the sauce for my burger to dip my fries into, I would like them much better. I must admit that they options they have for your burger, such as Wisconsin cheese, avocado slices and caged free eggs, blend really well with your main dish. They keep the add-ons low because they know they have a quality product that does not need the taste of inferiority masked. All in all, this expensive meal was worth doing at least once. I opted to get a fountain drink because I want to have an excuse to come back and try one of those organic milk shakes along with a chicken sandwich that time! If you look at the menu, they even have vegetarian options which include a mushroom burger and freshly made real fruit smoothies. You can even get your burger without a bun if need be. They have all types of customizations for your preferences and enjoyment. Make sure you ask about cross contamination from peanuts, if nut allergies are in your DNA, because they do use fresh ingredients all around, and not only with the meat and buns. They have multiple discounts which includes students and law enforcement, so they definitely have an added bonus for doing so. You know I am a fan of loyalty card programs, and this place definitely does have that. They also are a BYOB establishment, but there are some beers that they don’t allow on premises, so contact them, or their website for those exceptions. There is also an email list, so I am sure that will provide you with even further discounts. I normally would allow for a burger chain to only get 3 out of 5 stars, but I feel confident giving them an extra star for all of the healthy options that you are presented. You can actually check their napkins for further explanation of the many healthy options you have. Dinner at Epic Burger is fat man approved, but definitely not frugal meter approved! The sauce though — the end!

I’m not gonna lie, this place is a little expensive! Its basically a build a burger restaurant. You have choicrs like beef, turkey, mushroom, and more as your base and then you choose your cheese and other toppings. Though from the price, the workers were very patient and helpful with me. When they served me my burger, I could tell why its more expensive since the burger was soo good! If you’re in the Loop area of Chicago, I’d recommend this place.

Cooling my heels on a frosty downtown Chicago day, I bumped into Epic Burger, started in 2008 and now with eight Chicagoland locations. A straightforward, simplified menu, namely, a burger, a chicken sammie, turkey burger, portobello burger, fries, salad, snakes and fountain drinks, period. The emphasis is on quality ingredients, humanely raised, hormone free, and their beef supplier is Creekstone Farms of Kansas, which I personally believe now deserves the crown of the best burger supplier in America, bar none. You can add a choice of three different Wisconsin cheeses to your patty, nitrate free bacon, and condiments of your choice. Fresh cut thick fries with sea salt are available solo or in a combo. Buns are baked fresh daily, the establishment uses real butter, cage free eggs, and the burger produce tastes like you grew it yourself. The patties are amply-sized, have a nice little char crust and are obviously(note pic) hand-formed. This is a real winner, as evidenced not only by my smile and warm belly, but by the company’s acceptance leading to its growth. Great burger, great fries, great value. Try one. Or a double. Daily.
