I am VERY late in writing this but I just found the card from this office. Over Labor Day week-end I was staying downtown for 4 days(I live in the burbs) and woke up after the first night and realized that I did not bring any contacts. I could have drove home(1.5 hours) and picked them up but decided to call the Sear office near me to see if I could buy a couple pairs. I talked with Chauna Toney and she said — NOPROBLEM! It being a holiday and all they were a bit crazy — but when I stopped in she gave me three pairs and said — NOCHARGE — just make sure to visit Sears again. I WILLCERTAINLYDOTHAT! I was so happy on how she took care of me that I will always be a Sears customer!

Dr. Gonzalez is very helpful and insightful, the best optometrist I’ve had. If you have any questions after your appointment, he returns call and answers most questions in a timely matter.

Excellent service and his staff are both friendly and professional. I never felt as if products were being pushed on me at all. I originally only schedule an appointment for myself because Macy’s Optical closed and I needed contacts ASAP. However, Dr. Gonzalez was able to see my son for an annual exam the same day. Lastly, while I was waiting before and after my appointment I was able to observe how he and his staff interacted with various clients… great personality, friendly, patient and helpful.

I have been going to Sears Optical for almost ten years and I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Gonzalez and his staff. Dr Gonzalez is super attentive. He takes the time to get to know you and to answer all of your questions. The support staff is attentive and highly professional. When it came time to pick out glasses their input was greatly appreciated. It’s nice to go into a business where the staff is so professional and friendly.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Miguel Gonzalez and his team at Sears Optical ever since I moved to Chicago. Even though I only see him once a year, he somehow always remembers details about me & my family. Dr. Gonzalez takes his time during my appointments and is incredibly thorough. He’a also super accommodating: I was overdue for my annual eye exam and called the office for a last minute, same-day appointment. Even though his office closed at 5pm that day, he stayed after just to see me(so I wouldn’t run out of contacts)! His staff is friendly and professional, and I never have to worry about their follow-up with me. Great office :)

I came in as a walking which was great for my schedule. Dr Gonzalez was awesome. Answered all my silly questions about the eye and was very personable. When I went to pick up my contacts the following week, my eye was bothering me a the time and he took the time to look at it on the spot despite him being booked with appointments. Thats what doctor patient relationship is all about. I will go back!

I took my son to Dr. Gonzalez. He was professional and very nice. Dr. Gonzalez explained all of my questions in layman terms. Although, they do not have a huge selection of frames but I would recommand Dr. Gonzalez to friends and family.

I have been there twice: The first time, the experience was marginal: I was up-sold some glasses without any explanations from the clerk; also, the doctor seemed too busy to answer any of my questions; maybe he thought I was too stupid to understand. I returned for a second time about a year and half later for another visit due to logistic reasons at the time. The second time around, the experience was simply horrible. I succumbed under intense up-selling pressure from a young man to buy a year’s supply of disposable contacts. I have used them uncomfortably on only 1 occasion since. He didn’t even bother to understand my circumstances and was dismissive of my questions. Again, the doctor acted like I was too stupid to be explained to. If I weren’t under time pressure, I would have just left. Saving graces: The lady who showed me how to fit on the contacts was pretty patient. Hence: 2 stars instead of 1.
