Completely delicious, authentic Italian fare in unpretentious neighborhood atmosphere. Excellent red-colored red wine check list. Properly-well informed sommelier. The white-colored-coloured truffle noodles — while a bit expensive at $ 100 for every component– is amazing. Outstanding solutions. Will surely return.

*** WARNING*** don’t order from here! I ordered a large 5 topping pizza from here for a myself and a few friends of mine who were working late. Hoping for a nice dinner to treat ourselves for our hard work, we got this pizza burnt and with the wrong toppings. It looked terrible and tasted terrible. It tasted old and it was cold. The pizza looked like it cost $ 5 to make and the total cost of the pizza was $ 27, without delivery. I also got a garden salad that was far from fresh and far from«garden» it had one tomato and one olive on it. All together the order cost $ 40, without tip. Very upset and disappointed, my boyfriend called the manager and very nicely told him that our pizza was way below quality and way over priced. He was very nice and said he had a new cook and there had been lots of complaints, and assured us that he would credit $ 23 to back our credit card. I was kinda upset I still had to pay the remainder of the bill, but at least I wasn’t that ripped off. We didn’t eat the pizza or the salad. It was too gross. Well, a day passes and I find the«processing total» on my bill change to «final amount» without a change in price! Wow. I call back the manager to see about the mistake and another manager answers the phone. He apologizes for the mistake, takes my card number again, and promises to correct the mistake by sending me $ 23. He said I would have the credit to my card by the end of the night. And I did not. Wow again. The next day I call to find out the mistake again, and the same manager says he did credit it. Also, he says that he is unable to confirm this with me or confirm the card number because he no longer has the information. WOW. What a mess. This has been the most frustrating, unhonest, and unappreciative experience I have ever had. I mean, who even gets pizza wrong?! I hope this gets resolved.

Worst meal of 2016. Let me suggest not getting the pasta or sandwiches or food. The water was ok.

Another great experience and extra effort customer service. I ordered for a friends and family gathering, food was great! Perfect fresh garden salad, pasta, meat sauce and pizza. My favorite new family Italian place. When the delivery arrived, there was a mix up on the beverages. The driver went across the street, purchased the right beverages, and brought them to our gathering. Over the top extra effort, thank you!

The décor was traditional and what you would expect from a classic Italian restaurant. Brick, arches, ivy plants… The waiter was very helpful and friendly. We went before a bulls game and it looked as if many of the other patrons were also going to the game. Simple, straight forward Italian dishes. Good selection. We had pesto and carbonara pastas and a pizza. Everything was tasty. Very rich. Parking around back which is great in the city!

Very friendly… just the way I remember! Best manicotti in Chicago! Pizza is really good too. We had the cannoli and tiramisu both were excellent!!!

This is my 1st time having Salerno’s Pizza. I loved it. Perfect pizza. Great sauce, awesome crust and sausage. I tried the thin crust and loved it. Highly recommended.

I stopped in for a quick bite while working and ordered the Italian beef meal. It was okay, but I wished it was dipped a little more. Guess that was my fault for assuming they would give me a little juice. The fries were awful and unseasoned. I may have been better off with a slice of pizza. I’ll give them another chance the next time I’m in the area.

The best thin crust in Chicago, hands down. I’ve spoiled myself with all of Chicago’s great pizza joints, so my tastebuds are very picky when it comes to pizza. With that being said, the ratio of doughiness to cheese and toppings is excellent and the toppings themselves are high quality and really flavorful. The cheese is caramelized to greatness.

I was trying to order(reach the store) for more than a week last year and ultimately found out today the store was closed«FORMAINTENANCE.» Strange have to wonder why… but did re-open after 3 weeks! Recently i was in the hood and decided to stop by the place and eat in. After more than 20 years eating take out from this place, I would never go back. I ordered a salad and I was«CHARGED» an extra $ 1.00 i think for the«Fake» blue cheese dressing. Blew me away. What is worse though, is the place is filthy. I sat in the bar and there were boxes stacked and clutter everywhere. It was undeniable that the place was in desperate need of a deep cleaning. I have this thing about eating at restaurants that are dirty. If the place appears to be dirty, imagine what is in the kitchen. Oh I should also mention that while sitting at the bar, the owner after what smelled like she smoked 10 packs of cigarettes walks back behind the bar and begins to berate one of her waiters. I believe some patrons ate and didn’t pay. She made the poor guy pay the tab because«HOWAM I SUPPOSEDTOCOVERMYOVERHEAD…» Wow, crazytown.

Salernos has awesome pizza. I am a fan of both their original crust and the thincrust. Their original crust is definitely thick and on the«doughey/breadey» side of things, but it is good if you like that. I do like it, but I have to be in the mood for it. Their thin crust is PERFECT. I love it and I could eat it everyday. The dining room is nothing to write home about, but its a really nice environment for families. Looks like the kinds of pizza joints I went to as a kid. Pro Tip: They have the fastest deliver y in town !

Never order again!!! We used to order 2 – 4 times per month, but we always asked for Parmesan cheese,…we never received any packets. In the GrubHub app we continued to order and put in that special instructions. This happened for 6th time, I finally call them and the guy says the are charging for Parmesan packets… a $ 1.00. He also said they are likely to raise the prices of the packets. I wonder if they charge for the Parmesan on the tables? They lost a loyal customer. Way to many options in Chicago for pizza to have that bad of customer service and try to buckle and dime their loyal clients. Later

Ok been by Salernos many times since we live in the neighborhood. Decided to try a different pizza. Front area is very tiny and crammed theres barely room for 4 people to wait for the hostess. First impression is place is very clean and staff is very clean. We sat by the bar at the tables. Table was super wobbly. The waiter Alex noticed it and fixed the table, very pleasant. We ordered the medium regular crust sausage pizza. Very nice environment, true Italian gem! They also have wifi which is very nice. Reasonable price, pizza made with fresh ingredients. Waiter Alex was super attentive throughout the entire meal. Loved the homemade cannoli’s! This Place is defiantly an Italian gem! Very classy, clean but also affordable prices. Over all great place!!!

My gold standard for pizza is the North End(Boston) location of Pizzeria Regina — make of that what you will about my pizza preferences. Salerno’s pizza arrived with an abundance of cheese, a goodly amount of toppings, and inadequate sauce. The crust was dense with a smooth and shiny finish. I could be persuaded to try out the pasta offerings on the menu but am uninterested in having the pizza again.

Pizza had great fresh ingredients and was delivered quickly. I tend to prefer more bread-like crusts, but this is more of a buttery/crunchy sort. My one complaint is that we ordered three toppings and the amount we got of each was pretty disparate. On a mushroom/spinach/sausage combo, we had a TON of spinach but many slices had no detectable mushrooms(to the point that I actually pulled the cheese back to see if there were any — there were, but not many). If you like the crunchy butter crust thing and aren’t attached to your toppings being roughly even, totally go for it.

Came for an after church dinner with my Mother and my cousin Dona. Always great food and service here. Everything is delicious and the price is just right. My cousin had the stuffed shells which she said tasted very good and she enjoyed it immensely. Mom had the Italian Beef with a side of Mostacccioli and I had the Linguini with Broccoli cooked Al Dente in Garlic and Olive Oil. Everything was perfect and even had enough to bring some home for later. You can never go wrong by eating here and the fact that it is only a little more than 1 block from home helps a lot. Plenty of parking in their parking lot if needed. You can also order takeout and pick it up or have it delivered if you want.

Reasonable prices and good pizza. Ingredients all seemed fresh on the za, and delivery was pretty quick. Other items we ordered were pretty good portions,(we had pasta and calamari both very very tasty) and no complaints from any of our picky crew so that’s saying something good! They have take-out and delivery, we chose delivery and it was on time and friendly. Pizza arrived still really hot which was pleasantly surprising. We asked for the pizza crispy, and it arrived CRISPY! YEAH to Salerno’s. The prices were reasonable compared to some of their competition.

The best calamari in all of Chicago. I haven’t had a bad meal in all the years I have been eating here. Calamari is always a must no matter what. The plate comes to the table piping hot and piled high. Everything on the menu comes in lumberjack portions so wear your track pants and boxers.

Salerno’s delivers quickly and reliably, and the hot giardiniera pizza with thin crust is as good as it gets! They’ve become my go-to for pizza in the West Loop/West Town area. Looking forward to hopefully stopping by to eat rather than delivery in the future. As far as appetizers go, the calamari was a bit bland for my tastes, but the portion size is very generous. We most recently tried the mozzarella sticks — hard to go wrong, but very good.
