El Milagro still dominates the tamale battle. Unfortunately, Rosa’s tamales are miles apart from the good stuff… tale of two completely different hoods. The corn husk tamales were rolled thin like Tom-Tom’s, and overkill on the masa. Pork with red sauce were bone dry, and both the chicken and rajas con queso tamales were sparse of their key ingredients. Hard to beat the price($ 1.00), but there’s much better around if you’re willing to drive a few more miles.

Ehhhh the tamales are okay, I guess. The masa is too dry and not enough salsa. I have had better. Few people talk about how good they are maybe haven’t experimented with other tamal places.

They use too much cumin on the tamales. Heard from a few friends they’ve gotten better so I’m going to check it out and let you guys know.

I give this place my highest review. I’ve never had a better tamale. I moved to this neighborhood almost 2 years ago and missed the variety of the north side, little by little I started discovering the hidden gems around here. The tamales here are so tasty and you can taste the freshness of the masa. My favorite are the Oaxacan tamales, wrapped in banana leaves… out fffffkkkknnnnnn standing. Go there, NOW!!!

The Tamales and Menudo are really good. I would give this place a higher rating, but they only take cash. Debit cards/Credit Cards are not accepted, so be prepared to take cash if you’re going to order their great tamales and good food.

Their tamales are O.K. Compared to how I make them. Even though they are related to manolos tamales, they have better service and their tamales are not as dry.

Menudo is delicious! I just moved from Los Angeles and was looking for a place that offered delicious authentic menudo. This was the place! The employees were great! Super nice and friendly. Price was very reasonable. $ 6, $ 8, $ 10 for menudo plus they package it nicely if you need it as a carry-out. You definitely can tell its a family owned restaurant. We didn’t get the chance to try the tamales but we plan on returning to keep trying the rest of the menu. :)

Tamales! Tamales! Tamales! This place is really good. They have really good tamales. The service is awsome and the drinks are the best. Tamales: regular tamal(corn husk) or Oaxacan style(wrapped in banana tree leaves). So many choices, chicken or pork, green or red sauce, Cheese and jalapeño pepper, Sweet tamales: pineapple, strawberry, pecan, all really good. My favorite you ask. well let me tell you that my favorite is the oaxacan chicken in green sauce. It is just soo good. As said before it is wrapped in banana tree leaves and it gives it a special flavor. The masa is so moist and not spongy like other places. Shredded chicken breast smothered in a spicy green tomatillo sauce. My mouth is literally watering just as I’m writing this. And now I know what’s for lunch today, Lol. When I take it to go I top it with some extra green sauce, sour cream, onion and avocado and you my friend have what I like to call a super loaded tamal. They do have the best atole I have tasted. Champurrado is silky and so flavorful. It is taking me too long to wrap this review up and it is almost time to go to lunch so I’m just going say, good tamales, good service and good drinks.
