I heard good things about this restaurant. I came for my first visit for lunch at exactly 11 a.m. The restaurant is adjoining a very nice bar. There was a bartender with three people at the bar and I was pointed to the bistro part which was empty. I was the very first patron. Both the bar and the restaurant are very nice inside with natural wood, exposed brick and well lit with natural light from the windows. I sat down and I sat and I sat and I sat…. For about ten minutes before the bartender came to give me a menu and walked away and I sat and I sat and I sat and I sat for another 15 minutes. Evidently they were short staffed. There was a cook who saw me from the kitchen but she didn’t say or do anything. If you have customers and are short on staff, at least give them a menu, a glass of water and at least ask what they would like to drink so they could look at the menu and have something to drink. Both the bartender and the cook walked back and forth from the bar and the kitchen. Finally the bartender came to take my order. And I waited some more. The the cook came out of the kitchen and handed my food and walked back to the kitchen, not even asking me if there was anything else I wanted. Then two polish gentlemen came by and they quickly were attended to and the cook came to chat with them and apologize to them for being short on staff and the long delay. That was irritating… it seemed like they liked the men customers more than the women customers. At least I got my food. I know this place is a bistro, so does that mean you don’t get any bread? I had the breaded pork cutlet with mushrooms and cheese. It was good except I think the cheese was a combination of a white cheese with American cheese which didn’t seem polish to me. Overall except for the issue of being short staffed, the food was ok. The bar is beautiful and it leads to a patio in the back that looks like it would be nice to visit in warmer months. I would come back again… I guess I came on a bad day and no one knew what to do. I guess stuff happens but truly the entire staff needs to get educated on customer service.

Stopped by for lunch. I guess I came at a bad time because there were only two people working, the bartender and the cook. The bartender was busy with people at the bar and the cook was busy cooking so I just sat there for a very very long time. I guess the bartender is also the waitress. Didn’t even get a glass of water. but I guess this being a bistro and not a restaurant you don’t even get that. Also did not ask at first if I could get something to drink while I waited over 20 minutes. Ordered the chicken with mushrooms. It was all right. Not the best and not the worst. I guess also since this is a bistro they don’t give you bread. Maybe I expected this to be a restaurant. I would come back to try some other dishes. One thing I do have to say is that the atmosphere was very nice. The bar is one of the nicer bars I have seen in the area. and there is a patio in the back that looks like it would be great in the warmer months. I think the staff has to get up to speed on service. If a person is waiting because you are short staffed, at least offer them a glass of water and maybe some bread or their drink choice. I almost got up and left. Also the noise from the bar was a ittle loud. Some woman with a deep laugh keeping yelling. After a while it got to be really nerve wracking. especially when you are hungry and are being kept waiting.

This place is awesome and has the best Polish food I’ve ever had and they offer it until 1 am if your in the attached bar. I ordered the polish platter which had a piece of sausage, 3 pierogis, salad, potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage, and like a cabbage in red sauce and a side of sour cream. All of it was delicious! I especially loved the potato pancakes. The meal was also reasonably priced for the portion you received. The restaurant is cute with brick walls, in the summer the patio in back is opened. There were several tables in the patio and the outdoor ambiance is relaxing and great for taking a date or just enjoying a meal with family and frIends. By the way, the attached bar is not your typical sports bar, it’s really nice and similar to what you would find in downtown or Lincoln Park area, but in Dunning. Definitely worth a visit.

Three of us stopped by for a late lunch on a Thursday. We ate outdoors in their very quiet and well-kept backyard garden. Our server met us enthusiastically and immediately brought our beverages. Our three dishes were delivered hot, clearly freshly prepared and well presented(see my photos). We ordered the following: — Talerz Rozmaitosci(Polish plate with potato pancake, sausage, three pierogis and stuffed cabbage) — Poledwiczki Wieprzowe with Sosie Kremowym(Grilled pork tenderloin with creamy sauce) — Kurczak Po Staropolski z Rusztu(Chicken breast with grilled cheese and mushroom) All three dishes were served with Czerwony Barszez z Krokietami(Red borscht with meat or kraut croquettes). Everything was delicious! We’ll be back soon!

Chose Polish Bistro for a family gathering, party of 10, 9 adults and 1 child. We are Polish. The food was well prepared, fresh, and authentic, ethnic Polish dishes. The waitress was wonderful, and did good job managing our table, and and our request for separate checks. Make sure to call in your reservations. I emailed my reservation the day before with a request to have a family appetizer tray ready at 5:30. Since I got no email confirmation, I called the next day. The Bistro management did NOT read my email yet. If it weren’t for this email being overlooked, I would have given them five stars. Overall, we had an enjoyable evening, and all of us loved our food.

When we walked in we saw a cook sitting in the kitchen and eating. She ignored us. Nobody was there to give us menus or anything. In the bar area was few people drinking. It smelled bad. I don’t get why they are advertising themselves in the polish radio and don’t give a shit about costumers.
