My dad loves to take me here when he is craving phở. I don’t think this place is all that special. There are better places for phở than here. Sad. I have had their phở and their porkchop over rice. The noodles are too soft and the broth is not very tasty. But they have free parking here so that is a huge plus. Their fruit smoothies are satisfying to fill my craving though as well. Only reason I return is when others want to go here.

(Neutral Review) Just to update Blerk D’s review, there is NO vegetarian phở here. There must’ve been miscommunication because I called(«Do you have vegetarian noodle soup … with vegetarian broth?») and the man answered«yes». I made my merry little way to Phở Hoa(located next door to Tai Nam Market), which is now Le’s Phở, sat down and asked about the vegetarian phở again. «Hmm, we only use beef broth.» Perhaps the original Phở Hoa offered phở with vegetable broth, but not Le’s Phở. At least their newer menu is bigger…

A perfectly good phở shop. And when you have a head cold, that is exactly what you want. We went late last night around 9, and half of the restaurants on the strip were closed, so we wound up here. Staff was friendly, fluent, and attentive. Only issue was that we didn’t get quite what we ordered. My beef phở has some unrequested(but delicious) tripe in it. My fiancée got the vegetable soup, which on the menu promised tofu that was nowhere to be found when served. Maybe the translations on the menu aren’t quite perfect? Anyhow, we had a pleasant meal and closed out with a strawberry smoothie to go. I’d have no issues coming back, but I’m curious to try the other phở shops and determine my favorite. It’s nice to now live so close to Argyle Street.

Phở Hoa is now Le’s Phở. The change happened towards the end of 2007. The new management greatly expanded the menu but I think someone accidentally cracked the Phở God statuette in the process. The last few times I ate there the phở was noticeably weak. The noodles were limp and the soup was flat. The portions were still huge but who cared at that point? In honour of our years-long relationship I might return some day to see if things have improved, but not just yet. I really hate to say it but Phở Hoa is like the Marion Jones of phở. So, so awesome, then so, so disappointing.

3. 5STARS Yea, come here for a quick Phở Bowl of Beef and the place isn’t 5 star dining. But for a good Phở Beef Bowl, it ain’t so bad. Try it out. The staff is low key so don’t expect too much.

Dirty, dirty place. Yes, but that should be expected in the most nookest of crannies. Get anything with bible tripe. Yum yum on the intestine tip. I discovered the place in 1997 and have made road trips, when not living in Chicago, to have a bowl. The rooster sauce completes the meal… sweating and running nose complete an otherwise hazy day, yes?

Hi — just noticed tonight that this place is now called«Le’s Phở» The place is a bit unkempt and the servers are ocassionaly annoying, but the phở is great. Generous portions, generous amounts of herbs, and ample amounts of meat. I always get the tai + tendon and I love that after I’ve mostly finished the bowl, there are still little bits of tendon swimming in the broth. I don’t know how they do this, but its a nice probably unintended touch. The spring rolls and other non-phở items are relatively new and they aren’t all that great. I believe this place used to be part of the Phở Hoa franchise — well, I am guessing Phở Hoa is a franchise type operation since all the Phở Hoa’s I’ve been to seem to have the same menu numbers for the various phở variations.

YOUCANGETVEGETARIANPHOHERE!!! It doesn’t seem to be on the menu there, but it is on their national menu: You just have to make sure that you ask for the vegetarian broth for your phở, and get veggies in it, natch. I’ve had it, and lo, it was good. VEGGIEPHO! REJOICE!

this place was pretty good for what i could find around here. the broth was a little too strong for me but i liked it. phở is probably my favorite kind of food so it’ll be really hard to impress me. i’d most likely go here again. too bad its so far up north. would probably not go up there at night but for breakfast or lunch fo sho.

Been lovin Phở Hoa for a few years now! Soooo good! But, they’ve recently cut back on the amount of fresh herbs they give you. :(Have to ask for extra cilantro. But the last time we were there, they gave us an herb that’s really fragant(yummy) and added a lot to the phở. That was a nice addition. I’m not sure what I think of the new menu though… I’ll stick with the phở.

I am giving 2 stars because I think the staff are assholes and really rude. I just get a bad vibe when I eat there. I don’t like the phở at this place. My stomach always hurts after we go there, I think it might be an ingredient they use. My boyfriend gets the grilled pork, which he does like. He says the rice at this place is good b/c it’s fresh. It’s funny… my boyfriend and I say«should we eat at the asshole place?» and we usually do when we stop at the grocery store next door. But every time we go, we SWEAR we will never return. Yeah we’re weird. Anyways, just try it out for yourself. I know they have good food and maybe one of the best in Argyle, but I really hate the service.

I drive 30+ miles just to eat here. It is just as good as the best places in the Bay Area(there’s a lot of phở places there), and beats the pants out of all the Phở places i’ve eaten at here in the suburbs(e.g. Schaumburg, Carol Stream, etc.)

It feels real… no frills, just Phở. I ate here one night when I was running all day and exhausted and I enjoyed some Phở and felt so comforted.

Only dish you can order here is Phở. The broth is heavenly and the noodles are better than Tank Phở. I usually go for the more adventurous versions, which has bible tripe and tendons floating with my broth. As for décor, the place looks like a hole in the wall, definitely not a place to bring a girl you wanna impress.

This above average, but still average Vietnamese restaurant has a flare for consistency. The food is really very good and the atmosphere standard for a shopping district restaurant. It is clean and the service courteous and prompt. Not the place to take a date to impress her with your good taste, but rather a good place to take someone your serious about to impress her with your good sense. No frills, above average food, and a good value overall. Give it a try.
