Phở Viet has a ton of items on their menu and I can’t say that I have tried too many of them but what I can say is that the few dishes that I have had have all been very good. Some of my favorites are the Vietnamese style marinated fried chicken wings, which are perfectly crispy and flavorful(think of the rich flavors of fish sauce, garlic, and soy sauce) and always arrive at your table freshly fried. It’s best to wait a couple of minutes before you bite into one lest you burn yourself. The Hu Tieu Xao Ga is another of my favorites. It’s a pretty basic seeming dish; rice noodles stir fried with chicken and vegetables. But once you get it at your table you’ll know why it’s something to talk about. The dual texture of the noodles, soft on one side and crispy on the other… makes my mouth water just writing about it! I’ve eaten many orders of this all by myself. The Bun Bo Hue, which is a new discovery for me(it helps to be married to a Vietnamese person), is a revelation. Why had I been ordering Phở for so long when I could have been ordering Bun Bo Hue? It does have beef, but also sliced Vietnamese pork sausage(the kind they put in the Banh Mi), blood sausage with a tofu-like texture, and pork belly! It comes with a plate of fresh accouterments, like a Phở would, but instead of the basil and other herbs, there’s shredded cabbage and bean sprouts, as well as lime and sliced hot peppers. My husband prefers the Bun Mam, which is a seafood rice noodle soup. Being allergic to crustaceans, I haven’t ever tried it, but in his opinion, Phở Viet is the best place for it. At some point, you’re going to get tired of always ordering phở and you’re going to want to step outside the box. If you’re not a picky eater and you like good food, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Place is located in the prime of phở places being right in argyle– asian town. With all the other phone places around something has to be below the rest of the others and this would be it. First, location was fine they seem to have alot of space and the back even have a karaōke. It seems huge groups go there alot due to there fimiliarity of the location probably. Even got a ton of beer drinking the whole time. Second, the food was bad. phở tasted like nothing especially the broth. Where it failed so hard. Isn’t worth a try. Even the portion was small compared to the other location In the area. Overall id say go somewhere else

I love the food. So I hate the fact I can never order from here again. But it’s like Russian Roulette. The last few times I have either gotten someone else’s order or just part of my order. And usually they fix it. But today they told me I live too far. And I had to call Grub Hub to get my money back. So one of my dinner guests apparently just goes without food? And 45 minutes later the food is cold anyway after the hassle. I didn’t make the mistake. They should have fixed it. Especially after $ 5.00 for delivery plus tip. If it had only happened once. But every damn time… Such a shame.

The phở is awesome! It never fails — especially when it’s cold outside. The restaurant open layout makes this place — cozy in my opinion and the servers are very easy to understand.

Hands down the best Phở in Chicago! The place next door on the corner(Tank Noodle) is always packed and seems like the go to place, but you’re missing out on this place’s wonderful broth. I always get the Phở with medium slice steak and it is phenomenal. The broth used in their phở clears away any sort of sinus issues you might have. This is best enjoyed on a cold winter evening. The sriracha and hoisin sauce mixed in are the kicker. Definite must have if you’re in the Argyle viet-town area.

We were heading to a nearby Asian restaurant on Broadway for a holiday dinner, but that place was very full with diners so we wound up needing to look for an alternate venue. We sort of stumbled upon Phở Viet, and we were impressed by how it looked clean and«not empty» from the outside. Based on these factors, we walked in and hoped for a good meal. There seems to be a large room in the back with a stage area, so you can even rent the place out for a big event or party. We sat in «Booth Number One» which just happens to be a small table in the corner on the flip side of the entry. The service was efficient and courteous, though there was a puzzling moment at the end when they were wondering if they gave me the correct check or not. Phở Viet has an enormous menu listing hundreds of menu items, though as you might expect from a Vietnamese restaurant with the name in its title there is some emphasis on phở. I ordered a bowl of phở with beef and meatballs. The beef broth was pretty good, and to be honest tasted better than the slices of beef or the meatballs. There were noodles that did the job, and I studiously added the toppings(bean sprouts, mint leaves, lime wedge, jalapeño slices) to enhance the flavor. I was amused by the baby phở listing, as this is a kid’s serving and emphatically states that no vegetables are in this one! My friend enjoyed a veggie-friendly adult dish featuring tofu, and also a cup of coffee. I’m no phở expert, but my bowl of phở at Phở Viet did the trick.

My go-to for phở! I have tried other places, more popular places(i.e. Tank Noodle), but the broth here is so much yummier than anywhere else, the noodles are always perfectly done, the amount of all the various tasty meaty bits that real phở has is so much more generous than everywhere else… Also, the service is always friendly and prompt :0) No matter where you are eating phở now, this is where you should be!

This is the way Phở should taste. This is a great little hidden jewel of a place. IT is family owned and run. They are as nice as can be. It is also a BYOB so you will save a fortune if you eat dinner there. My go to place for Phở!!!

I’ve been very impressed with Phở Viet. I’ve ordered via GrubHub two times, and both times I have been very happy with the food quality, speed of delivery and service. The first time I ordered, I got phở, fried rice and a beef stick appetizer. The phở was hot and plentiful. I found the broth to be delicious and flavorful, despite what I’ve read here from others. They put so much meat in there, I was stuffed after! The beef appetizer was just okay, good, but noting mind blowing. The chicken fried rice was probably the best fried rice I’ve ever eaten in my life. I crave this stuff now. My second order didn’t let me down either. Again, the chicken fried rice is a must. I also ordered pork with crispy egg noodles. Fantastic. This is now one of my go-to places.

This past Wednesday my friend and I planned to go to Tank, but unfortunately it’s closed on Wednesdays. So we came here since its down the street from tank. Service was fast; you will get seated quickly. The staff came to u to get your order. Costs of the food is cheaper than Tank . However the food here is not that great. The soup base is bland. No taste at all… They didn’t provide you enough meat. The mint leaves didn’t look so green(more like black). I have more to say but to make things short, I won’t be coming back here. If tank is closed then I’ll suggest u to go home or grab a burger or something.

Better than tank noodle and cheaper too. With phở, it’s all about the broth and phở Viet got it right. Try it if you like tank but are looking for something better.

Food was good. However, we had our Phở delivered and the delivery person accidentally crushed the container full of broth. It leaked all over our food and we lost one of our entire orders. We called to let them know our situation and what happened, and they did not offer any solution and eventually hung up on us. Will not be ordering again.

Their beef stew is so yummy like omfg! Feels like im back at home! Lol im chinese but back at home we eat a beef stew that is exactly like the one they sell! Im filled with joy and deliciousness lol i just wish they have a different kind of boodle lol like ramen noodle will work better but egg noodle is not bad either, just takes over the aroma too much because of the egg smell lol over all really good!

If you don’t want to deal with the crowd at nearby Tank Noodle and still want some damn-good Vietnamese food, go here. If you don’t need fancy ambiance and just want a nice hearty bowl of phở or one of the many entrees in their enormous menu, this is the more authentic Vietnamese places to go to. I’ve been here a few times already, but I always get overwhelmed by the menu. But they have not disappointed!

Great service. Phở is alright. The broth is very bland, but added with the right spices and sauces, it has palatable potential. We requested extra tendon which added on a extra 2.50. For phở fans, try if you’d like but I would recommend elsewhere.

Horrible. Placed order on grub hub that was due to arrive at 8:30. Food came at 9:05 and was legitimately cold. Place is two miles down the road from me and takes 8 minutes to get to. Called and they said it was«the driver» and they couldn’t do anything even though they were 40 minutes late delivering cold food. «Microwave it» she says. Microwave it!!! Are you kidding me??? If I wanted microwaved food I would have went to Jewel and gotten a frozen dinner for $ 2.00. $ 32.00 down the drain.

One of my Fav Phở joints. Never too packed and the green tea keeps flowing. The food is great! That’s all that matters for me in regards to this menu and location.

Ordered the mixed appetizer plate and veggie wraps and phở 40, 44, and 73 with dry noodles. I won’t go into the details for each bowl but visualize hot broth, noodles, beef slices, tendons, bean sprouts, sliced jalapeño, mint leaves, chop sticks and siracha — I’m sure you get the idea. We’ve been here many times and the food is really good and it’s less crowded than Tank(which is over rated by the way, hint: just take a look at all the non-Vietnamese diners). For those very reasons, I find Phở Viet to be more authentic and comparable, if not better. Ahem, and the most notable thing is that the owner is also very beautiful, she looks like Ms. Vietnam. Is it possible for a pretty owner to make the food automatically taste better and ambiance more delightful? I say Yes and Yes!
