Really cute spot with good service! Quick turnover I got the omelet #6. The eggs were a bit weird, but the veggies, cheese and balsamic was sooo tasty I would probably order it again. Theyre served with mashed potatoes which is a different twist! Such good orange juice! Just probably wouldnt be running back with how many bunch places are still left on my list to try…

I went there this morning and felt this place was just ok. It was empty and we were seated right away(an advantage to not coming here on the weekends). I do like the orange coffee but there didn’t seem like there were many choices available on the menu. I mean potatoes, chorizo and eggs were ok, nothing to go back to quickly for. I ordered the apple chicken sausage which I was going to share with a friend but they ended up mixing it in with my dish. I mean I did order it as a side but I guess I did not specify that I wanted it on the side. The pumpkin pancakes that my fiancé ordered were pretty tasty. The presentation of the eggs and potatoes that my buddy ordered were pretty neat. But I guess the overall«breakfast» experience was simply ok. It is difficult to make breakfast foods exciting and I applaud places that attempt to do so which is why I can simply call this place ok.

Unnecessarily Annoying I don’t drink much coffee, maybe half a cup, so having to pay for a full carafe is just annoying… although the orange flavored version is very good. No separate checks or credit cards… annoying Completely uninterested wait staff… annoying Undercooked buttermilk pancakes… most annoying Maple syrup in a oil carafe that pours 2 drops at a time… very, very annoying Orange, you are not cute enough to get away with this… so many other options out there

The frushi was pretty unique and very well displayed =) I also tried the chai french toast which was really good! Great blend of flavors, and not too overpowering of a taste. I’m not normally a fan of coffee, but their orange coffee was pretty good too. Overall, pretty good place. Would recommend it for brunch. We went pretty late on a Sunday, so the wait was only 15 minutes.

I have no idea why the reviews are so low. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals. We came in around 8:30 last Saturday and were seated promptly. Service was nice and our food came out pretty quickly. My husband ordered the pancake flight with a side of bacon and I had the chorizo hash. The portion sizes were as expected for the price, not too big and not too small. The pancake flight included 4 different servings of pancakes: orange marmalade, banana walnut, chocolate syrup & whipped cream, and blueberry lemon. My husband described them as light and fluffy and devoured the bacon. Sidenote, the server even asked him how he wanted his bacon, which was thoughtful. The menu says the chorizo is mildly spicy, but it wasn’t spicy for me at all! I ended up loading it with tobasco sauce. The salad was a bit bland, but once I mixed the salad with the chorizo hash, I gobbled it all up! So basically, I kinda had a chorizo hash salad mixed with over medium eggs. It may sound gross, but food ends mixed together in your mouth and stomach anyways and it suited me just fine. I also like their coffee, it’s strong and fit for a coffee snob like me. :) Best part of the meal? 30% off due to a blackboard eats special! :D

I was originally befuddled by the low reviews of this place that were just based on the service… not anymore. It was my birthday, my boyfriend and I were excited to try this place. We walked in, and were surprised to find no wait. There were four people working behind the small server station in the entrance, and no one so much as acknowledged us. We sort of waited around for someone to notice us for five minutes, and were passed by a few servers, and then noticed a small ‘seat yourselves’ sign near the stairs. Assuming that was the reason no one had said anything to us in a good five minutes, we sat ourselves. Keep in mind: there was no. one. else. waiting. A man came in AFTER us asking about a large party, and the server seemed exasperated with his request, but other than that… nothing. So. We sit down, and the waitress comes by after a minute or two. «No menus?», rolls her eyes at the apparent incompetence of the(possibly non-existent?) host. She returns with waters and one menu. I smile, and explain what happened, hoping that was ok. She is intensely rude, and says«yeah, um, whatever, I guess it’s fine now, we WERE on a WAIT but you’re already sitting» I feel like I have to defend myself for wanting to eat there, so I say that I never saw the host. «I mean, he was probably running juices or something.» Oh. Well then. I can see how I am at fault because your host wasn’t around to uh, host for about ten minutes. I can also see how I am at fault for all this and that is why your attitude is so poor. I cannot vouch for their food because at that point, we left. I can get terrible service for much cheaper.

I used to eat at the original location when it first opened, years ago. The themed pancakes make this place special. The juices come in at a close second, and are really a great bonus. I don’t know if they still do it the same way, but you used to get a list of fruits and veggies and you simply marked off which ones you wanted in your juice. This was brilliant. You could basically make your own V8 via this menu… Good stuff! I’m really glad to see that the business has several locations now, as this was a winner!

Came here for Easter brunch and loved it. I had the chorizo hash and it was amazing! My friend had the omelette with asparagus, balsamic reduction and almond sprinkles– no complaints there. And of course, being two girls at brunch without any men to impress, we decided to be fattys and indulge in the pumpkin pancakes. it was definitely worth the extra calories! What do I not recommend? The orange coffee.

What can i say about Orange, other than I am truly a fan. The food was amazing, and the prices weren’t too bad. I had the pancake flight, it was great. 4 different kinds of pancakes, all very different flavors and they change every week. My husband had the cinnamon roll cakes. I really hope they stay on the menu, because they were awesome. My friend had the orange rosemary french toast. sounds weird, but it was really good. But, there were a few things that I did not care for. One, when we were seated at our table, there was an open sugar packet left behind from the previous diner at our table. And all over the floor at the table next to us. Our waitress, did not put in our frushi order. She took it down, and completely forgot about it. Also, the host, was running back and forth acting as a stand in server and host. It was a little confusing, because at one point several of us walked in at once, and we didn’t know who should ave been seated first. All in all my experience at orange was a good one, and I will be going back.

As stated in most of the other reviews for this particular place, the service is not what you would call top-notch. I wouldn’t say it was abysmal, but it was lackadaisical at best. That was pretty much the only thing that knocked a star off this place. Oh, one other thing as well. You know, I like water brought to a table. Simple, pure, clean ice water is refreshing and good all on its own. You know what I hate? When restaurants decide they must float something in your perfectly good plain water without asking you first. Well, they do this with cucumber slice here. When I begrudgingly tried it, it was not that bad, very crisp and cool, but it does not make you«trendy» when you throw shit into my water, it just makes you annoying.(End rant.) We waited an awfully long time for our food, and some of it spent a little more time under the heating lamps than I would have liked, but it all turned out really good. I had the most amazing tasting grilled cheese! It had two different cheeses, basil pesto, and bacon. It was grilled lightly, and I upgraded to sweet potato fries. It was absolutely one of my favorites sandwiches of all time. Well worth the $ 8.95 price tag on it. I sampled some of my dining companions Chai Tea French Toast. It was just too teeth-grittingly sweet for my liking. Since I was not in a coffee kind of mood, I did not get to try their specialty orange coffee. I really did enjoy the decoration and use of space. Even on a sunny day with the shades down, it was a warm and welcoming environment. Usually the use of the color orange makes me feel like I landed back in time at a Stuckeys. But with the use of other, softer colors, this did not happen. The seating was comfortable, but close together. It was fine the day we went, but I’m not sure I’d enjoy that close seating when it’s crowded. Since it’s a place for breakfast, and it’s close to work and the Blue Line to home, I will probably be back, if only to try the orange coffee.

I was here this morning for a baby shower and so our experience might be different than if I dined downstairs. The upstairs room is a great place to host an event! A nice big space, our server was very attentive and friendly. We brought our own Champagne and they had champagne glasses and OJ for us, which was really nice. I wasn’t the hostess, but she said they were great to work with and pretty affordable too! The food was awesome. I had the Popeye Scramble, which was delish and a ton of food! Everyone in the party loved their food and the cucumber water was a nice touch. It helped that Rahm stopped by our table to say congrats to our Mom-to-be friend! That definitely topped off a great experience!

So I’ve changed my mind… Second review: I gave it another try and ordered something different. I went with the Caprese Benedict and was shocked by how fresh and savory it tasted. I also went ahead and split my coffee with another person which made sense since there is a lot of coffee in the container they provide. I still spent close to $ 15 but it was okay and better. 10⁄2011 First review: There are better places in the city. Trust me! I went here after hearing so much hype about the Orange breakfast places. I stopped in one morning at 8am and was the first one in. Yay me. I do love the interior of this place and sat next to the window. The waiter brought me my coffee and ordered. However, ordering my Tijuana egg benedict I was expecting something blissful but was completely disappointed; maybe I ordered the wrong thing? But I remembered I tried many an egg benedict and this wasn’t up to par. I think my total came close to $ 18, a little much for breakfast. I’ll pass next time. 04⁄2011

I went here on a start to an amazing Saturday. At the time we went(closer to about 1:30) there was no wait. What breakfast place on the weekends doesn’t have a 15+ minute wait if your coming through the doors before noon? I really liked this place because the atmosphere was great and the staff gave out that«hipster/funk ass» vibe and that is always a perk. Everything is just«cute». The cucumber water and extensive juice list is also a huge plus. I’m a sucker for fresh squeezed juices. I ordered chai tea french toast and thought it was delicious. I forgot what my counterpart got, but I know he loved his meal. Everything is kinda funky and it seems like there is something for everyone. It’s unfortunate that so many others seemed to have a poor experience here. I would definitely avoid this place before 11am on the weekends, I’ve seen the lines outside various locations and it’s nuts.

The food and concept deserves 5 stars, but it loses a perfect score because we were once turned away 10 minutes before close. The manager’s excuse was that he was understaffed. We had just paid for Chicago’s stupid meter parking! Argh. I’ve been here a 3 times this year and cannot get enough of the Tijuana benedict. I’m a sucker for all eggs benedict though. Someone usually gets the chai tea French toast and the first few bites are amazing. I don’t have a sweet tooth so I get sick of it pretty quick, but it’s a good dish to share cuz it’s hella sweet. You can build your own omelette and it’s pretty creative the way the serve it. They have an orange flavored coffee which is pretty cool. I also like how they put a slice of cucumber in my tap water. It actually makes it taste good! Better than a slice of lemon! It’s nice during the summer when they open the backyard for outdoor seating. Can’t wait to come back with my cousin’s groupon!

The good: was skeptical that all the cool shapes and food presentations were a cover up or distraction for lackluster taste, but I was wrong. The pancake fligh was awesome and the green eggs and ham(pesto eggs with sausage) were sooo good! Also, their ORANGECOFFEE and fresh juice infusions are to die. The bad: one of my friends ordered the Halloween special«Bloody scramble» and it was underwhelming, as was the Frushi. The potatoes that come with the eggs are basically mashed potatoes, disappointing if ur wanting hashbrowns. The ugly: our wait was long, both to get seated and for our food to come out. But that’s to be expected on Saturday during brunch hour. Overall, I give it 4 stars cuz the ambience and the food presentation is cool and, if you order the right thing, the food is great.

An exercise in botched execution. On the surface, you’d look at everything Orange has to offer and go, «Yeah, sounds good. I’ll invest in that!» Which is what several investors probably did. Maybe some locations are better, but this one seems perpetually frazzled and unable to get over itself. The food was… almost there. Too precocious(Frushi), too lukewarm(eggs benedict), too forgotten until halfway through the meal(coffee). The servers were all acting like they were trying to disarm a nuclear warhead rather than attend to three tables, and failing badly.

This place is absolutely on my list of favs for brunch. I’m not a huge fan of orange jiuce but seeing that this is their specialty I couldn’t go home with out a glass… or two! My friend and I had gone on a «personal health day» to have some brunch and retail therapy… :) she had mentioned that she had a coupon from and well it was one hell of a coupon… we basically ordered everything under the sun and stuffed ourselves silly to cover the coupon! We both had a fresh cup of coffe and a large glass of orange juice. We shared a fruit cup and the got our own entrees. I had the veggie omlet and it was delicious! I was in such a food coma that I can’t even remember what my friend ordered but it was so good… it took us almost all day to work up an appetite for anything else all day! The service was great and the food was scrumpcious…

I was at a different Orange with some girlfriends several years ago and never forgot the place! Their juices and frushi are pretty unique — or at least to this out-of-towner. So I was excited to go there again, just at a new location. Tried the Greek eggs benedict: spinach, eggs, cheese and onion. Mmmm… That paired with an orange, pineapple, lemon juice and this St. Louis gal was satisfied! Total cost of meal– $ 10. Not too bad since this kept me full all day. Our server was extremely attentive, which wasn’t that hard for her at 10 am on a weekday. But she was nice and the food came out quick. Not sure what else a person would ask for in a brunch restaurant. I can imagine how crowded this gets on weekends and why it might be a totally different experience! But I left pleased and would be happy to return to Orange when I come back to Chicago :)

I think this place was ok. The concept is excellent, but the execution fell a little short. Do I mean the food? Nope. It was quite good. However, the prices not so much. I found it to be very pricey, and I would expect a place to really wow me if it’s going to lighten my wallet for something like breakfast. It’s just because there are a lot of places you can get a delicious breakfast/brunch and not have to put a 2nd mortgage on your house. Heh, ok, that’s obviously an exaggeration, but I wouldn’t find myself coming here consistently due to the price. So, what’s the point in that? What I had: pancake flight and frushi w/a glass of orange juice. Like I said, everything was good but the bill left a bad after taste. I’ll include a picture of the pancake flight, which was not only a creative idea, but it looked and tasted very good. Also, frushi is like sushi but made out of fruit and rice that is infused with sugar(I believe) to make it sweet and go better with all the fruit. I would say trying their frushi is worth a visit. If you have deep pocket, then go and enjoy. If you’re looking for a better quality: price ratio, then maybe check other places out first.

I gave it another chance… cause I’m nice like that! This time I brought along my anti-brunch husband, which may have not been a good idea considering he likes to complain about how slow brunch is. The service was still slow and they forgot about our fruishi(gasp), but the waitress was extremely apologetic and didn’t charge us for it. And it was definitely faster than last time. The food was delicious again. This time I ordered the Huevos Rancheros while my husband indulged in the Chai French Toast, stuffed with ricotta cheese. Both were incredible and even worth the wait! They’ve won me over with their food… now if only they could get it out in a timely fashion!
