Nice little neighborhood bar around the block from me. It’s got a decent beer selection and enough TV’s that its like my personal extended living room. Lots of local folks come by and the occasional softball team from Hamlin Park. They also offer a small amount of food(pizza, chips, pretzels). Don’t expect to be wowed. If you’re looking for a quiet night at a neighborhood bar, you can’t go wrong.

If you’re looking for a low key bar in the city, Millie’s definitely delivers. Millie’s has a great selection of beers and also great specials every day of the week. If you love cider, stop in on Fridays for $ 1 off ciders!(They have a great selection) My friends and I came to Millie’s on a whim on Saturday night during the Hawks game and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We were able to snag a booth for the 5 of us as soon as we walked in and order a drink right away. The bartender working was very helpful and walked me over to the fridge to help me pick out a cider she thought I would enjoy. After that, we were able to play a game of pool on their pool table where we spent the majority of the night. Other patrons from the bar challenged my friends and I to friendly games of pool and we stayed until close! It was a blast and one of the best bars I’ve been to since I moved to the city. Great drinks, great prices, great people and a feel-good vibe!

A dive bar in the middle of a side street in Chicago hidden that I had not been. I made a late night visit to this unique looking bar and was not disappointed. A small neighborhood bar in a building that has hosted bars like since 1776. Bartender was friendly and drinks seemed cheaper than in your other North side bars.

This is quickly becoming my favorite place. Really attentive and friendly staff, that was nice enough to put the sound on for us for one of the March Madness play in games. For being a small local bar, I am amazed at their large beer selection and even more impressed with all their cider options. They even have $ 1.00 off all ciders on Fridays.

Great service by Val every time I go. She is hilarious and attentive to everyone here. She makes a great drink. I love the ambience of this bar! Everyone that picks music on the juke box is always spot on! If you’re in the area, check out this place!

The quintessential dive… Can’t speak for the food but they always have a great beer selection on tap and the specials are amazing. Awesome staff and cheap pool.

Great neighborhood dive bar. Perfect for an afternoon happy hour — don’t judge, I work from home — or great for a late night libation after a night out. What’s more… when neighborhood residents are walking their dogs they can stop at Millie’s for a dog treat. Love it.

Making our way through our list of corner bars to check out in the neighborhood, my husband and I stopped in to Millie’s on a Friday night and we were wondering why we hadn’t visited sooner! They’ve recently remodeled and the bar looks great while still keeping some divey charm. Good beer selection, a pool table, TVs, jukebox, and friendly bartenders means that we’ll be back!

Love this place. It’s right around the corner, it’s cozy, the beer’s reasonable, they have a decent pool table, and the crowd’s pretty diverse. The bartenders are friendly and on top things, too, which is pretty awesome. There’s definitely character here, which is a cool thing to see in a neighborhood that’s turned pretty white-bread. I’d like it more if it weren’t so cramped, and if the bathrooms were just a spit cleaner. I can deal with it, but those are the only things I see stopping it from being a 5-star dive. And thanks for moving the pool table! You read my mind, and I love you for it.

Great neighborhood bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Belmont. They have great beers on draft and a wide selection of bottles, and the best thing about the place was their $ 13 pitchers of Green Line every Saturday and Sunday. Too bad they decided to get rid of that special – I told everyone I knew to come check it out specifically for that reason, and even brought people by from out of town. I guess the new management decided to pinch pennies. But enough of the negative. It’s right in my neighborhood, has a nice mix of people, and the darts are free and real(plastic dart machines blow). They also just got done refinishing the floors, but I hope they don’t get rid of all the old timey feel that made Millie’s a great bar.

This a neighborhood dive bar that’s on a very quiet residential street. I went to meet friends on Wednesday night, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. When I checked in on Unilocal, there was a deal for 20% off your bill. When I asked the bartender about it, she said the manager was trying to take it off and was weird about it. But, then she was able to honor the discount. Millie’s is pretty nondescript. If I was in the area, I’d stop in, but I wouldn’t make a special trip just to go there.

Free Darts, Pool, and a great bar. Maybe its the charm of this Roscoe Village bar, or perhaps just the fact that it is not like every other bar. It’s homey feel makes you feel comfortable and at ease. The barteneders are kind and are more than happy to take your order. Their list is small and unique, but the setting is still quite alright. If you are looking for that neighborhood dive bar, look no further, Millie’s is a great and high quality place to go to.

Thanks for letting us in about 5 min before closing. It was a great spot to stop in for a few minutes on a Friday evening. Cute spot, good beer on tap and you can buy combos from behind the bar!

The quintessential Chicago corner/‘hood bar with clean floors and windows. I happened past it a few days ago while walking the dog, took note of the name/location and we made our way back this past weekend to celebrate a few things… I bring up the windows/floors only because when you think«dive bar» you don’t typically think«ooo, natural light and freshly mopped floors.» Actually, you also don’t really think«cheap microbrews.» It was absolutely everything I wanted it to be. . We rolled up 8-deep for an impromptu Saturday of day-to-night drinking foray and had an absolute blast. Comfortably settled into a table with a few locals nearby, and as the night wore on people milled in and out always contributing to the overall vibe. Never empty, never overly-crowded. One toddler, as can be expected… but they were well behaved. See, I’m telling you… everything I dreamed of! You see, this was our engagement party… decided approximately on our way to the bar with our friends. So, we put down our credit card and for about 5 hours we all drank beer, ate pizza and pretzels, played pool, darts and the jukebox… for around $ 200 all in with tax and tip. Not too bad, right? Ha… cheapest engagement party ever perhaps. I dig Millie’s. It’s not trying too hard, but its trying a little bit. A great beer selection(word on the street is they are always trying new microbrews), friendly bartenders, some drunk people snacks(the pizzas probably saved us a world of hurt), enough TVs to satisfy without being obnoxious and somehow by the grace of God, none of the Wrigleyville brohans/trixies have stumbled upon it just yet. And for that, it’s a Roscoe Village win. Say what you will about this ‘hood, this bar is definitely a shining star. Millie, will you marry me?

I don’t want to see Millie’s lose any of its corner tavern charm, but they still deserve a nod for all their recent upgrades. Renovations this summer saw the north all-brick side of Millie’s knocked out and replaced with a window. Once a dark haven for factory workers just off shift, Millie’s has opened up in both senses. Natural light has finally found its way inside, and it looks good. Formerly a shot & beer joint, there are lots of craft beers available at Millie’s now. The draught selection is still limited, but there are plenty of bottles from brewery heroes both local and distant. Millie’s has long been a good off the beaten path place, and it just got better.

The quintessential dive bar. I came here at 1 a.m. on a Sunday night, and there was an older woman bar-tending. She was friendly, talkative, and interesting. Turns out she was a retired nurse, who just wanted to stay working and around people. She has been a bartendress(I love that word) at Millie’s for over 16 years! What a cool woman! There were plenty of beers and liquors to choose from, and they also serve a variety of pizzas. The place has a lot of character, and it’s clean, so it’s already ahead of most bars. There is also some awesome Pabst Blue Ribbon art on the walls. I want the Monster Pabst picture realllll bad. I really liked this place and I will be coming back here again real soon. I also broke my Schlitz cherry here, as we don’t have Schlitz in CA. I just got misty eyed.
