Call me a prude but I am too offended to return. We stopped in for an after dinner cocktail after a much needed date night without the baby. My husband went to the restroom when I looked through the drink menu. It was quite empty which was fine with me. The bartender seemed nice enough when he brought us water. When my husband returned, he said in the men’s restroom, there was a photo of a woman lying on a bed with butt in the air and her vagina front and center. At first I chuckled and 2 seconds later, I realized it was not funny and this was not a place I wanted to patronize. We went to Acadia for great cocktails instead. I just kept thinking. That is the kind of crap that can make a date for a single girl that much worse. I didn’t stick around long enough to confirm whether or not there were photos of large dicks in the women’s bathroom but I would imagine that answer is no.

Martinis! They have great Martinis. I have only been here twice once for my after party b’day celebration and another time on a week night. On a Saturday this place was busy, not so much when I went during the week, in fact it was only one other couple there other than my friends and myself. The place is quaint and cozy. Wasn’t there for the live band. No food, which was fine for me but my friends would’ve liked some finger food at least. Overall, I look forward to returning.

My wife and I along with a few friends and their spouses enjoy getting together once a month for a nice midweek drink in a warm comfortable setting with great service and music. The M Lounge is the place. Our group was there last night for the second time and we have already planned our next visit. The staff is professional, friendly and quick. Drinks are very good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is wonderful for small groups to stay close while enjoying the lounge and occasional impromptu conversations with other guests. Last night the Delivery Point band did just that with their smooth R&B mix that had everyone engaged and singing along when not applauding the talented musicians. They don’t serve food but will let you order(they keep menus from the local places).

This is a great lounge. We came here on a Thursday evening and to my surprise, there was a live band! When do you ever get to go for a drink with a live band?! The music was perfect. Their drink menu has an extensive list of martinis. I had the French Kiss and it was ok, but surprisingly the lemon drop one was better! I would definitely come back here.

I LOVE M Lounge. I give it 4 stars because I just hate that I have to get there early in the evening to get a seat & parking! I tried going last weekend & had to walk out due to lack of seating. But I knew that because I got there late. As long as you are mentally prepared prior to going in with an understanding that it’s a small establishment, you’ll be fine. My favorite cocktail is the yummy bear martini. You can also bring in food, which is convenient if you’re going during happy hour. Great atmosphere and good music.

Great place for drinks and music sets. They have the best local jazz artist that perform there. Very cozy atmosphere.

I came in on a Friday night with friends after having a drink around the corner. We weren’t expected but were able to snag one of the back booth for a quick private party. This bar is extremely slender and there are not many seats and it gets crowded really fast. If you have more than 6 people with you, you might want to try up north somewhere where you can breathe for a little bit. Also I ordered a whiskey and they gave it to me in a martini glass which I have never seen before. Most of the drink spilled on my clothes. But they played Barber Shop which is pretty funny so there’s that. And the doorman was very nice and accommodating. overall not terrible but the bar is not my favorite.

The world needs more kickback places like this to have a drink. The music is good, falls in to the 80/90s Hip-Hop and R&B. The music is loud but not too loud that it prohibits conversation. It’s an awesome place that you can kick back and relx and have a drink. I will say the only downside is that all of the cocktails on the menu seem sweet. I would like to see a bit more liqour focused manhattan style drinks on the menu. The bartender was super friendly and I could see myself chilling out here for a while.

Visited M Lounge while in town on business. My new GOTO spot whenever I’m in Chicago! Atmosphere and ambiance just what I was looking for! Great music, great food, awesome service! The Chi-town welcome was unforgettable. Special thanks to Maurice for making sure my drinks were straight. Tell the lovely ladies«Thanks», I really enjoyed the lemon drop shots. I was able to work on my presentation, fill my appetite, listen to great music, meet great Chi-town professionals, over a great glass of Cabernet! See you soon M Lounge! :) Hair Restoration Specialist that couldn’t put away her laptop) lol :)

The M lounge located in such a way that you would need to look twice to actually see the location. The vibes, the relaxation is amazing !!! Not too crowded on this lovely Saturday night(weather wise) but not empty. I also understand that everyone does not enjoy a overly-crowded place. The music selection is GODLY… The drink selection definitely lives up to the Hype! I’m an average size guy and the bartender deserves credit for the drinks he served us. My lady seconds my opinion of this place we were actually very surprised with how comfortable and intimate the ambiance is. I have chosen to give this place four stars, if you are in a chill mood looking to just relax and have a couple drinks this is an excellent choice. it covers all basis except food, if they had a snack menu with a few appetizers I would have given it five stars. Needless to say. The M Lounge will receive my business again.

My second time in Chicago in 8 years and I get to this spot for a surprise birthday party for a friend. Everything was great, from the ambiance to the great and extensive martini menu, the friendly and accommodating staff as well as management. The music was on point as well.

I’m guessing that the«M» stands for the initial of owner Reggie’s last name, but for me this is the«Magnificent Lounge.» It’s one of the best bars in the city, and it’s only a few blocks away from me. Reggie is the root of the experience here. He’s been«in the house» almost every time I’ve been here, and he truly cares about making sure his guests have a good time, and he’s thoughtful about how he can improve their experience in the future. In fact, he once followed a friend and me out the door to ask us about our experience, what we liked and what could use improvement. Wow! I love when owners of restaurants & bars greet the tables, but this went well beyond that. Trilion is equally hospitable behind the bar, suggesting and crafting high-quality cocktails. While M Lounge doesn’t serve food(they would do well to at least sell some munchies such as fancy nuts, like The Whistler), they welcome you to order in. I’ve been here when it’s busy, and the energy is overwhelmingly positive and energetic. But I prefer to come early in the evening, before dinner, or on a weeknight, especially a Tuesday or Wednesday when they have live music. It’s free! And the music is goo – ood. For such a small place, I’m surprised at the quality. The talent must really like Reggie and the room. Most recently, I saw Tracye Eileen, and her sultry voice made me fall in love with her at first sound. She rocked, romanced and soothed the room with her R&B and jazz, both up-tempo and ballads. A great voice accompanied by a muy tight band. I also like that the clientele is diverse, like is the South Loop(at least by Chicago standards). While M Lounge is most-frequented by African Americans, those of us with lower levels of melanin are warmly welcomed and equally taken care of. Truly, this place could also be called«Magnificent L.»

I freaking LOVE this place! Made a reservation a week in advance but realized when I walked in I probably didn’t need one as there were open tables and seats at the bar. No valet but we found parking on the street. Very cozy and intimate lounge with great music and deliciously strong drinks. Friendly staff. even the security guard was nice lol. Nikki was our server and and she was very sweet and attentive. My new favorite spot! Can’t wait to go back!

In visiting the South Loop area of Chicago, we rarely venture out past Reggie’s Music Joint on State Street. However, this past Sunday afternoon, we stopped in for the JoAnn Fastoff Book Signing of Two Years of Heaven at M Lounge. M Lounge is one of those über-cool bars that makes you feel like maybe you should have reconsidered your outfit before venturing out. The vibe here is relaxed-trendy. Look around, this isn’t a sports bar. This is the true definition of a lounge; drink and enjoy the company of who is joining you. M Lounge is really small which only adds to the good vibes. It sort of has a private lounge/club feel to it. M Lounge was more of an upscale watering hole for locals than an upscale swanky cocktail lounge. The real stars of this place are the Martinis. Each one is handcrafted and delicious. Weather you in the mood for something sweet and tart, they have got you covered. Check out some we recommend below: M Classic A large pour of your favorite vodka or gin served with a hint of Vermouth and queen-sized olives Almond Joy Martini Coconut vodka blended with Frangelico, white Cream de Cacao Hershey’s chocolate & cream Lemon Drop Martini Citrus vodka, lemon juice & sugar mixed with a touch of sour, served in a sugar-rimmed glass Any one you pick you will be sure to enjoy. Have a favorite type of Martini? Comment below and let us know!!! Cheers, Jordan & Marks

ML is hip and cool without trying to be, which is beautiful. One of the only places to listen to some real jazz with a subdued crowd that doesn’t overwhelm the music. This review is only based on my one trip there, but there will be more. Friendly staff, too.

I went three friends for a night of exploration. This place was small and romantic. The music is very jazzy and the drinks are things you would associate with that era. Everyone was dressed nice, classier than your average lounge. I had a very good time.

I’ve been going to M lounge for years, and it is now a South Loop staple. It’s a very intimate space, but has cosy seating, dim lights, and a little background music, making it a great spot for a date. The layout and seating also makes it a great spot for groups. They don’t serve food, but they do allow people to order delivery from area restaurants. The service here is always exceptional, even when they’re super busy, and the drinks are always well made. This is one of my favorite go to bars!

3.5 Stars I’ve been to M Lounge on many occasions. Most recently I went last night for a friend of a friends Jazz event. M Lounge is on the smaller side, but the atmosphere has always been great. Usually this isn’t a place I just stop into. I’ve moreso come for bday parties and events. On a prior experience I came for a bday party and they were nice enough to give us the more secluded area by the front of the window. Only downfall is food isn’t served here, but your more than welcome to place an order from another establishment and have it delivered. Really intimate place and usually a good time.

M Lounge is a small venue situated at the far end of the South Loop. It was a Saturday night and full house. Our party of 11 arrived without a reservation and had to cram into two small tables by the door. It didn’t work so well and eventually the servers gave us a reserved area by the windows because that party was late. The area had four small tables combined together and a couch-like seat stretched across the window ledge as well as other small ottomans and plush chairs. The menu offered a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Prices were not bizarre. Most of us ordered at least one drink and we also had a round of jagerbombs. M Lounge isn’t the typical lounge for chit chat. It was a bit loud and we could barely carry on a conversation without shouting across the room. We lingered for an hour and a half before we decided to switch places. P. S. The group who originally reserved the area never showed up. That was a huge plus for us!
