Typical pub type place connected to a large hotel. Ordered the corned beef sandwich, lots of food for the price, but everything was slightly overpriced given the location. Nice outdoor seating area was a good spot looking out to the park. Inside was noisy bar.

Staying at the Hilton for a conference and stopped in the first night for dinner with my colleague. Had an amazing, HUGE, Caesar salmon salad that hit the spot. I even took half back to my room for a snack later, and that never happens. The lettuce held up really well in the mini fridge. The bartender who waited on us was friendly and attentive without being overly intrusive. Will definitely stop back in for a drink during the remainder of my stay. Also has outside seating, which looked very inviting.

Just flew in on business. Needed to grab a quick bite to eat. The burger rocks. No frills but amazing quality.

On our recent visit, the service was friendly and prompt. The fish and chips were tasty. Because of the downtown hotel location, expect the prices to be a dollar or two higher than similar restaurants.

We were visiting a group of out-of-towers and came here mostly out of convenience. This restaurant is located beneath the Hilton downtown. Service: A We had a continually expanding group and they were very accommodating about us pushing tables together. The service was appropriately paced, yet not intrusive. Food: C+ We had a variety of appetizers among the whole group. The fried Brie cheese with jam and toast was definitely a stand out. However, other dishes like the pork belly and cheese curds fell short. The cheese curbs were cold and rubbery when they came out– never a good thing. Overall, I would come back if I’m in the area but wouldn’t make a special trip for a meal here.

Live music, beer and fries! If you’re looking to party, this is not your place to be. If you want live music while enjoying a drink, come.

Very busy pub in lower level of Chicago Hilton. I was there just before St. Patrick’s Day, I had Corned beef and cabbage. It was fabulous!!! Very loud, noisey, tough to have a conversation, great food and service!

Stayed in the Hilton that Kitty O’Shea’s lives in so we stopped by for a quick lunch. Typical Irish pub fare and the most ginormous booths you’ve ever seen. The crowd were mostly business professionals stopping in for lunch and wandering hotel guests. The waitress was nice and the service was a bit slow, even though the restaurant was quite empty. The food was okay. The Kitty’s Award Winning Mac and Cheese featuring gouda & cheddar béchamel, cauliflower, raisins, puff pastry, and miso butterscotch sauce was a very very very surprisingly good dish. It’s super heavy and sounds quite strange, but tastes delicious. Besides that, the salmon was overcooked, the Caesar dressing tastes like sweet 1,000 islands dressing(or did they just put the wrong one on? not sure) and the Carolina Style BBQ Pork Sandwich was dry according to one of my colleagues. Probably won’t be back but it worked for the convenience!

This is a really fun pub that’s located in the Hilton and has pretty good service. I stopped in here a few times while attending a conference and the fish and chips and lamb stew were way better than expected and a nice surprise for a hotel restaurant. They have happy hour specials on beer and it’s a good place to relax with a drink or grab a good lunch.

For a hotel dining establishment, I was very pleasantly surprised by Kitty O’Shea’s. We were a bigger group, in town for a conference(7, and expecting 2 more), and they were very accommodating. Our server was very friendly, answered the questions we had, and didn’t bat an eye when we needed our alcoholic beverages on separate tabs. We started with the cheese plate(three cheese options with raspberry jam, and crostini), and the curry fries(with a cheese sauce, and a curry sauce), and an order of the Award Winning Mac and Cheese. This was so odd, it was compelling and good. We passed it around the table and all shared. It had cauliflower and golden raisins, was topped with a puff pastry and a miso butterscotch sauce. It is worth the try! I had the Shepard’s Pie and it was excellent — highly recommended. Some of the folks in my party had the Fish and Chips and there were also pleased. In addition, Kitty O’Shea’s has a nice selection of Irish Whiskeys.

My friends and I met up here for a beer. They have a broad range of beer and other drink options. I appreciated all the different seating arrangements available. Note that it can be very loud and hard to have a conversation. The atmosphere was vibrant, and I can imagine it would be entertaining when flying solo.

I was staying at the hotel so I ordered a salad to go. While I was waiting I ordered a ginger beer. The bartender brought me a nonalcoholic soda instead of a beer. She turned it into a moscow mule which was better but when I got the bill it was 12 bucks for her mistake. Secondly the drink was very watered down. The salad was not fresh and they gave me two knives instead of a fork so I had to go back and get it for a sub par salad. Poor food and poor customer service. Dont waste your time.

Straight up, Kitty O’Shea’s is a hotel bar. It’s located inside the Hilton on South Michigan Avenue. I ended up over here because my friend was staying at the Hilton for the Blackhawks Convention, which is, apparently, a huge deal. I mean, he got to hug the Stanley Cup for goodness sakes. Being around the touristy area farther up the road, I hadn’t found a decent bar. Even my own hotel’s bar, at the Wyndham Riverfront, wasn’t all that lively. It must have been all the hockey people, you know my brethren, that did it. Kitty O’Shea’s was a happenin’ place with hockey fans, Blackhawks players, announcers, etc roaming about. It was the bar I needed and deserved. My friend had been there for a bit and had a spot saved for me upon my arrival. The beer selection was an appropriate mix of local and commercial beers, including Guinness and Magners. If you own an Irish pub and don’t have those two drinks, in particular, available, you may want to contemplate the«Irish pub» thought. I, having not found a local beer that suited my taste by that point, went with the Bottom Up Wit from Revolution Brewery, which was the current seasonal selection available. I did not regret my choice and ended up having one more before I left. There was a great folk Irish duo playing throughout the night. They were excellent and pumped the atmosphere way up. They played«Blackbird» by The Beatles, but then seemingly changed the lyrics to «Blackhawks fly» to the delight of the die hard hockey fans in the room. The bartenders were as attentive as they could be with such a large crowd, and the menu looked pretty yummy. I kept debating the Corned Beef and Cabbage, but had already eaten. For a hotel bar, this was a pretty excellent one. If you find yourself wandering about South Michigan Avenue looking for a pint, I’d stop in here.

Ate here during the Blackhawks convention. It was obviously crazy crowded by the staff handled it well and remained attentive. I enjoyed a delicious bacon, Irish cheddar burger and a green line. The burger was amazing! And obviously the green line was terrific as always. The fries were perfectly seasoned and not too soggy. I would definitely go back here if I was in the area. The fact that they can handle that many hungry and thirty Blackhawks fans running around in such a small area is impressive on its own.

Some out-of-town friends were in town recently for the Mexico /Cuba soccer match at Soldier Field. Since they stayed at the Hilton and are partial to the sauce, I assumed there was a 100% chance that I’d have to devote one night to drinking in a hotel bar. And I was right. While I went into the evening dreading the assorted nonsense that hotel bars can present, it actually was a lot of fun. I went with the fish and chips(yep, I have not one original bone in my body) and was pleasantly surprised by the dish I was presented. Perfect amount of batter, fried golden brown, and very reasonably priced for the area. Fries are sort of hard to mangle but these ones were really delicious. Great meal. And Killian’s on tap always sends my heart fluttering over the moon and my poor liver throwing its hands in the air and finding something to hide under.

Easy, no fuss place that offers Pub classics as well as modern healthy alternatives. Inside it looks like Irish Pub, outside like a modern café. Food is delicious! I ordered Pub Garden Salad and loved every little bite of it! Will be back for sure

Came in here for lunch on a Sunday because the first couple places we tried had long lines. Didn’t really know anything about the place but it didn’t have a line so we were sold. The lunch menu seemed pretty normal with your usual sandwiches, salads, burgers, etc. We also got to choose our seating so that was a plus. Our waitress was friendly, attentive & prompt & didn’t seem to mind us sitting around & chatting for a bit after we’d paid the bill either.

You had me at Killian’s on tap. Dad and I came here for lunch on SoxFest Saturday and we shared a good experience. He had a Smithwick’s pint and I, a Killian’s. Pretty decent menu(prices were what you’d expect for a restaurant on Michigan Avenue, which is to say, ‘a lot’). My old man enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich that came with salt & vinegar chips. I ordered their ‘world famous’ mac & cheese, which when it arrived was an unexpected(unpleasant?) surprise. They start with spiral tube noodles in a creamy, white cheese sauce and then top it with breadcrumbs. Then it gets weird. A substantial drizzling of salted caramel accompanied a sweet, sugary mixture that reminded me of the toppings on a streusel muffin. The idea of combining sweet with savory is ambitious, but I don’t think it worked in this case. Cheesy mac should be left well enough alone – don’t get creative and ruin a good thing! On the upside, it came with lumps of pulled pork, so it was like getting a side order of meat with my mac. We only stopped in for a quick bite, but the service was friendly and expedient, so I would return.

I can think of about 20 Irish pubs off the top of my head that are better than Kitty’s, but if you’ve got someone from out of town staying at a hotel off Michigan Ave it’s not a bad option. The food is decent, they pour a good Guinness and there’s usually some sort of live Irish music so your mom and dad will probably get a kick out of that. Mine always do. My biggest issue has always been the under staffing here. It’s taken forever the couple times I’ve been before, but last night our poor waitress was incredibly swamped. We waited for a good half hour till our drink order was taken and almost that for it to arrive. Our girl was hustling so it definitely wasn’t her fault, but another employee or two on the floor probably would have stepped up the overall star experience.
