The BEST sheppard’s pie I’ve had since I was in Ireland. The Irish coffee is on point. Gouda Mac and cheese is off the charts. The owner is native to Ireland. The lighting is dim like a traditional Irish pub. Music could be more authentic. I’m really happy with my choice to go here. I HIGHLYRECOMMEND!

Just got a few drinks here. Snagged a table at the beginning, and our waiter was training, which he did not tell us until the end when there was a mix up with our bills and whose drink was on each. All we wanted was for the bills to be straightened out, and then his«Trainer» came over and basically yelled at us, even though the bill mix up wasn’t our fault. She was super rude to us, and left a bad taste in our mouths. We made sure our top money went to the kid, not her, when we left.

Came in to watch BPLFA Cup. Wanted to go to a non chain pub. They were not friendly and wouldn’t turn on sound. …despite no one in the place caring. So I left and came to Fado. Much better.

Awful service here. I watched some borderline racial profiling against other parties and saw people get removed from the bar when the bouncers rudely pushed them out of their spot(for no reason). What an unprofessional bar, this place would fail instantly in Dallas. Save your time, there are a host of good bars around.

Stopped at this bar on the way to another and actually ended up staying here until the end of the night. The bar is nothing special – the space is clean and the décor is nothing to rave about. What I did like was that downstairs you could sit and chill in a well lit space with a server who would take your order. Upstairs was were the dancing and music was. It was nice to be able to take a break from the loud music and actually be able to have an intimate conversation. All in all this place would be a nice place to stop on a bar hopping adventure.

Husband and I came here while on a short trip up to Chicago for a weekend. We were staying in a hotel nearby and had a great experience at The Kerryman! Our server was fantastic. I had the Gouda Mac n Cheese with Broccoli, husband had the spicy turkey chili and steak fries. Both dishes were great, and you can tell they were homemade, not frozen and reheated. We will definitely return the next time we’re in the neighborhood.

I had the Murger Burger. I’m a burger lover and I travel a ton; the Murger Burger is one helluva burger. In my top five for sure. The fries were great as well. And to top it off, the place is very cool.

I came here on Halloween with group of friends who live nearby this bar. The music was good up until 1pm. We didn’t have to wait too long for our drinks. After a series of country songs, I rallied the group to leave and go get some food.

Back to the kerryman a year later, Aidan and good beer still behind the bar. Had the shepherds pie, hit the spot. A great go to when in Chicago. Haven’t spent much time on the patio but it’s very well landscaped and looks spectacular.

I visited the Kerryman yesterday evening on a visit to Chicago from Atlanta. The patio is really nice with beautiful greenery and candles when it got dark. My server Mallory was great, I wanted to chill out for a bit and have a beer and read my book. She left me to it, but I was still able to get what I needed promptly and with a smile. I had a 312, steak frites(which was quite good value for the quality of steak, A really tender piece of ribeye for 18 $) and I had a baileys coffee before I left. Baileys coffee could have been topped with heavy cream, but not really a big deal! I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxed evening dining experience, especially if the weather is nice and you can take advantage of the lovely patio seating. I would visit again if I had more time in Chicago!

Saw this on my 8 block walk from the train station to my hotel, and was very curious, seeing the joyously drunk fellows outside of the establishment — I placed this on my ‘To Eat’ list. Upon arriving with my comrades, we found it to be dark, and filled with the alcoholic cries of happiness. I wondered why? As we went upstairs, our party gathered around the menu and ordered some beverages(and food I think) and started at it! Long story short — the food was so-so, the brew was as brew should taste, but because we were on the top floor, service suffered.

The hangover burger is pretty sick!!! With more mayonnaise would be perfect. Fries are also good. Ambiance is relax, I really appreciate.

My friend and I were staying at the hotel from around the corner from Kerrymans and before our check out we decided to visit this place for lunch. This is the most delicious food bar/restaurant I have visited. Their Seafood Chowder is the best one you can ever possible have if you like seafood, it has celery, corn, sweet peppers, chunks of salmon, potatoes, and just a perfect portion. For my entrée I had chopped salad with shrimp, it came with 5 big piece of seasoned shrimp which was amazing. I suggest you get dressing on the side and try their Meri Rose dressing and the raspberry vinaigrette. My friend loved her creamy tomato soup and ceaser salad with chicken. Great food and Excellent Service!

So with my son in a wheelchair Portillos didn’t work so we headed back to the Hotel. Ran into the Kerryman on the way and since we’d been walking(or pushing a chair) for 5 hours it was time for a Guinness. Kids had the breakfast sandwiches on sourdough– good. I had the tried and true Irish breakfast– good. My wife ordered the fish tacos(I thought she was nuts ordering that at a pub but well, she did marry me.) They were awesome– hence the fourth star. Service was great and I really liked the true Irish pub feel. If I were a local this would be one of my watering holes.

While in Chicago for St. Paddy’s Day weekend, we stumbled across the Kerryman and decided to give it a shot! I didn’t eat there, but our friends who did gave the food pretty solid reviews. The layout is cool with a downstairs bar/restaurant area and an upstairs with room to dance. The drinks were a little bit pricey($ 40 for a green beer and 3 Rumplemintz shots), but the atmosphere was fun, and there were a lot of people out to enjoy the occasion. Unfortunately, they do not accept my handful of leprechaun gold as cover at the door, but the $ 10 I did have to pay didn’t put me out — it was a good time! My only complaint is the bathrooms. It may be that I’m not used to the city and the way things are laid out there, but having to go up and down 2 – 3 flights of stairs to use the restroom was a little bit of a pain. Lots of pushing and shoving, which doesn’t seem super safe in a stairwell. We stopped in twice, and I’d probably go back again, especially if they decide that leprechaun gold is, indeed, acceptable.

was here for a private party on friday night like a work christmas party. one might think when you hear the words«fish and chips» that they all are the same. This is not the case here. i was blown away. it tasted awesone. the bartnders are nice people and they are not like rationing the alchaholic content of the drinks like at other places. a genuine pkace for a good time. will be back probably on tuesday when they have half price for certain glasses and bottles of wine. the athmosphere is awesome.

During the warmer months I have always walked by and could hear the fun going on in this place as they also had the outside patio scene going. I have often wondered how cool could this place be. This past week I finally had the chance to experience the Kerryman as a colleague planned an after work outing here. Since it is the holiday season, they had some nice Christmas lighting going on here… my colleague was quite disappointed as he said they usually have a better light setup. I looked around and noticed that it looks like it might be 2 levels to this joint. We grabbed a seat @ the main bar and got ready to throw some drinks back. They had the Kentucky Bourbon beers s that was gonna be my thing for the rest of the night. Our server was a pretty cool guy that engaged in conversation with us when appropriate. The music was on point and not too loud that we had to shout @ each other. Of course they have TVs to catch up on all the latest games and sports stories. Good spot here and can’t wait to hit it up on a very busy day so I can be a part of all that commotion that I always hear from this joint.

I love coming here for a drink and a great time to celebrate any occasion or none at all with my friends! I always head upstairs where the drinks are poured very well and the bar is fully stocked. In the back there is always a dj spinning something catchy and easily danceable. I never leave this place before 1am when I’m out and that’s a sure sign that I’m having fun. The people here are great and the prices make sense. It’s a staple in the area that hopefully sticks around for years to come!

This was our first stop in Chicago, right after checking into our hotel following an eight hour drive. We were pretty tired and needed a place to chill, some food and some beer and not necessarily in that order! Thankfully, the Kerryman suited us just fine. First off, our server, John, was awesome. We arrived on a Sunday around 5:30 local time and me, trying to ingratiate myself to the locals immediate asked how The Bears did(they lost). He actually shrugged and honestly said that he didn’t know seeing as he was… a Pats fan! Immediate fist bump from me. You see he was originally from New Hampshire, moved to Ireland when he was three(explaining his accent) and now lives in Chicago. Too much information? Oh well, he was great. When we informed him of our dietary needs(I’m a vegetarian, my wife is dairy and gluten free) he was super knowledgeable about the menu, even making sure I didn’t order the Mac n’ Cheese like I was going to because it was made with chicken stock. Thanks, John! The food was just okay and pretty much what I’ve come to expect from Irish style pubs. I ended up going with a white bean burger which was pretty unique veggie burger variation(it was just okay flavor-wise) and my wife had the steak & fries… although advertised as «angus ribeye» there is no way that it actually was. She found it pretty gristley and certainly not a prime cut at all. The fries were pretty good though. Not usually a huge fan of thick cut but these were rather tasty. Even though the food was a bit of a letdown, I still rather liked the place. Okay, not the best selection on draught either(more essential for an Irish pub) but the décor and vibe were both solid, loved the music they were playing and again, great service. We thanked John for making our first stop in the city a pleasant one and said we’d be back. Even though we didn’t actually follow through on that, I’d certainly make a return trip if we’re in the area again… though this time probably just for a couple of drinks and a light snack.

Late afternoon on a hot and lazy Saturday with my wife and two cousins, we spent a couple of hours sitting at an outdoor table at the Kerryman. I’ve passed this many times and have always wanted to try it. This time we did, and it was a pretty good experience. The tables are comfortable, although their positioning in the late afternoon leaves them exposed to a lot of sunlight. So, we squinted a lot. The umbrellas on the tables don’t bend, and things are a little tight so it was hard to move out of the direct sunlight. The day was no nice though, we didn’t even consider eating indoors. We ordered a variety of things, from salads to burgers and even their signature Mac and Cheese. We started with drinks — the ladies had their Saturday special Mimosas. The guys had beers(stereotypical I know). I had a draft Guiness and I’m always amazed when the bartender can pour it so the head is perfect. The food came relatively quickly — and I can only comment on the burger. It meat was fresh and good, the burger was juicy and cooked very well. The lettuce, tomato and onions were fresh. The burger came with one side, and I always choose boring — steak fries. But, they hand carved, crispy and delightful. Everyone else had positive things to say. Kerryman’s is authentic down to the Irish waitress we had. They also have a great beer and liquor menu with a great variety of beers and whiskeys.
