Very poor customer service. I would love to comment on the food but my order didn’t come with the delivery after waiting over an hour. I was told that the delivery people were no longer driving and I could wait until the morning. HUH? When I called the next day, I was put on hold several times and still not given any ounce of remorse from several staff members. Finally after I explained how poor the customer service was, someone begrudgingly offered a free meal(the same that was missing) the next time I place an order. That’s probably not happening though…

Terrible customer service for mediocre food. Delivery took well over an hour and the order wasn’t complete. Upon calling the restaurant for their error to be rectified, was told delivery ended and they could deliver in the morning. WHAT??? DOESTHATMAKESENSE??? Thanks for nothing… won’t order from them again, won’t let anyone I know order from them either.

I have been here several times but for some reason I forget to check in go figure!!! Anyway! We usually get the bucket of rib tips when we go and I have not been disappointed yet! The only time I was is when we got them delivered through grubhub and had to pay an extra $ 7 dollars that’s not their fault I don’t think but the tips were still very good! I usually get my sauce mixed with hot and mild this gives it a look heat from the hot and a touch of sweetness from the mild. The reason I took one star away is because I wasn’t impressed by their chicken wings and I love chicken wings. I also enjoy their coleslaw its kind of sweet and I’m a sucka for sweet coleslaw. The cook as well as the cashier always has me laughing no matter the time I go into this restaurant that’s why I keep going back… okay well if I didn’t like the food it wouldn’t matter how much they made me laugh I wouldn’t come back… TRUTH!!! You can not sit down and enjoy your food you have to either eat it in your car or take that long trip home smelling the saucy goodness in your car or on the bus. If you are ever in the area give them a chance and I hope they impress you as much as they have impressed me with their Rib Tips!!! SN(side note): I can only really speak on the tips… lol since that is what I get when I go!!! Enjoy!!!

I went to Kenny’s Ribs on 86th stony Island. I waited five minutes for them to acknowledge that I was even there. They took my order and after fifteen minutes someone ask to see my ticket number and then I was told that they would be putting my order on now and it would take seven minutes. I asked for a supervisor and he was very rude even to the point of raising his voice. I did not raise my voice once nor did i disrespect him. I was told that I can take my money back or just wait on the food. He would nor even give me the complaint line telephone number. Needless to say I won’t be spending my money there again!!!

My Bbq fix Within the heart of any meat lover, beats the need to answer the fiendish call for tender meat slathered in sweet bbq sauce. I hadn’t sufficiently answered that call in quite some time. My BBQ fix was long overdue. My overdue fix had not reached«fiend status» because I was ignoring the urges. No. It was because of repeated, unsatisfactory attempts to scratch the itch by visiting restaurants based on popularity, long lines, or the amount of smoke issuing from the roof! I scoured the southeast side. Lems,(watery sauce) Barbara Ann’s(try a little tenderness), Dat Donut’s(stick to doughnuts). I finally came to my senses — Kenny’s Ribs and Chicken. They get it. For winning bbq taste you have to marry at least 3 obvious essentials: tender meat, a winning sauce, smokey flavor. Kenny’s nailed the trifecta. I’m a little suprised at the negative reviews. I’ve never tried the soul food side, and perhaps customer service is an issue for some. I ordered my food over the phone, I got there, I paid for it and left. When I go to a bbq joint I don’t expect white gloved, valet service. What I do expect is for my bbq craving to be dealt with. And it was… my craving was halted until my next return to have Kenny’s tenderly remove the pesky BBQ monkey off my back.

Shitty restaurant with incompetent service. I was the only person in the restaurant the only order and I ordered a whole chicken with barbecue sauce on the side they gave me the chicken plain and when I get home I had no BBQ sauce in the bag! How are you a barbecue restaurant and you don’t give me barbecue sauce? That is fucking stupid!

I am SO glad that Kenny’s returned back to this location! They were missed greatly by my family and I’m sure many others. Kenny’s has the best and meatiest rib tips in town! I love their rib tip/chicken wing combo with mild sauce. Their hot links are good also. They now charge for putting sauce on the fries which is a disappointment but that’s my only small thing I wish they would change. The prices are definitely not cheap but you will get alot for what you pay for. Slaw is good and I just recently tried their cabbage greens and was elated on how delicious those were as I love cabbage greens. The staff has gotten much better — they are very friendly and give good customer service. Please don’t leave us again — your food is a winner!

I eat here a lot. It’s one of the few places with decent BBQ in this neighborhood. I usually get the rib tips and collard greens and they are usually very good. I just wouldn’t recommend going on a slow night(like Wednesday).

Most of food was edible but it stops there. I ordered delivery the tips were chewy and cold the Mac and cheese was greasy and cold the fries were old and cold and the peach cobbler was the color of chocolate And had a weird skin in it… and cold… I don’t think it was peach skin and that’s what concerns me. It shall remain unconsumed. I have definately had better and I regret this $ 25 decision. I won’t let it happen again.

I decided to come here because I’d heard great things about their BBQ. I was pretty surprised to find there was no where to sit. The customer service was not so great, very rushed although I was the only person there. The spicy rib tips and hot links were good but the rib tips had way too much fat on them. They also didn’t really fill up the box like I had expected. One good thing was that the food took about 5 minutes to come out. It tasted pretty good but it didn’t live up to the hype.

This is a 2.5 star review. Kenny’s is a carry-out BBQ establishment that also carries soul food. I can’t really speak to the BBQ, as I’ve never really had it.(More on that later…) The soul food, however, is pretty decent. I used to pass it up all of the time, because it is named Kenny’s RIBS. I don’t really eat/care for pork(unless it’s bacon), so I don’t often gravitate to BBQ spots in the hood, as that seems to be mostly what they offer. One day my girlfriend and I were hungry after a day of shopping, and she stopped here to get rib tips. I decided to find something here, as well, so as not to have her make another stop. The interior is a bit dingy and nondescript, but the air is redolent with tempting smoky wonderfulness! And I was pleased to see that they have turkey, beef, AND chicken options. Then I noticed the steamtable-behind-Plexiglas thingie and read the sign announcing that they, now, offer Dusties’ Soul Food! Well, hot diggety dog! That sealed the deal for me. I think I ordered some kind of protein, but I mostly remembered the large side of collard greens. They were tender, well-seasoned, with just the right amount of kick, and a nice portion for the price! My friend said that her tips were fine, but those greens stood out in my mind. Since then, I’ve tried the macaroni & cheese(pretty tasty and cheesy, with the yellow grease that lets you know it’s homemade), candied sweets(like mama used to make, complete with cinnamon and nutmeg), and the beef ribs. Now, this is where I take issue. Why was I asked if I wanted gravy or BBQ sauce on my ribs? Because they weren’t barbecued! Isn’t that just TURRRBULL for a BBQ joint? I mean, they weren’t even finished on the grill! They were a bit flavorless(albeit rather tender) and the«mild sauce» wasn’t much help. How does any self-respecting BBQ spot NOT have a real, signature BBQSAUCE?!? Even if it’s too vinegary, too sweet, or too clove-y, I’d prefer that to the run-out-and-buy-a-gallon-at-Food-and-Paper option they serve here! Kenny, your ribs – and your customers – deserve better! Take it to the next level by developing a real sauce for your barbeque, and see what a difference it makes.

Kenny’s is a solid BBQ joint. I usually order a wing and tip combo. Portions and quality are fairly consistent. The ribs aren’t fall of bone tender, but I wouldn’t describe them as tough. Nice smoke flavor. Their bbq sauce is on the sweeter side and can be purchased by the bottle in the store. I suggest calling ahead.
