Service was unbelievably slow here and the food is just average. The greenhouse-like location was the only good thing about this place. Pass!

Food was fantastic. Service great. I went at 10 am on a Thursday, place was empty so sat right down. I had a custom breakfast burrito with chorizo, avacado, spinach, tomatoes and chicken. Hash browns yummy and crunchy. great price. Would definitely go here again. The place also has cool skylights so it was bright and sunny on a chilly winter day.

Such good food. There was a wait for a table, but it was Sunday for brunch and there were 5 in our group. It was worth it. The food was amazing and good sized portions. The pancakes from the 2×2×2 were fluffy and just melted in the mouth. One employee was Johnny on the spot with the coffee refills. Two of us wanted belinnis but they had no peach purée. Highly recommend this place. Next time in on the area from the south suburbs I want to eat here.

Average food. I’ve had the Bacado omelette and some of the skillets and they are good brunch options. However, the eggs Benedict is disappointing and I didn’t even want to finish it. It’s a nice, early brunch option in the area, because you can generally get seated on a Saturday or Sunday morning without much of a wait. Just be prepared for them to be understaffed and therefore you will have slow service. The patio is pretty cool though, with the retractable rooftop, so if feels like you’re dining outdoors! If you’re in the area though without reservations, I would still head over to Three Aces(only problem is they don’t open until 11)

I’m a fan of JUT’s First off, the transparent roof and airy patio area is a great way to brighten a early morning. When retracted, I love the cooling breeze while sipping coffee. The breakfast is great, and the staff is good. The one issue I would raise, if the managment reads these reviews is the wait time. The restaurant tends to run on the slower side, which isn’t a bad thing when sipping coffee and relaxing. Hungry? You’ll look at your watch a few times.

I recently started working near UIC/Little Italy. During a lunch break, a coworker and I went out to explore local lunch options. Looking for a salad or sandwich, we picked JUT’s. It’s a classic American diner– it serves breakfast all day, along with burgers and sandwiches in the afternoon. The atmosphere is pleasant, with what looks like a retractable roof that lets in tons of natural light. We sat ourselves and we were quickly helped by a server. I give this review 3 stars because the food was underwhelming. Maybe breakfast is more of their specialty, but the turkey club was bland and light on the turkey. You choose seasoned fries or waffle fries as a side. The seasoned fries were ok, but again nothing to keep me coming back again and again. Overall, it’s an easy place to grab lunch near the Illinois medical center, but I think I will continue to check out other options before heading there again.

Much like Pompei, this place a large following and is often praised when in reality. The food is just«okay.» The eggs Benedict I ordered was room temperature, and the food was just average. Make the extra walk to Sweet Maple or Stax, trust me, it will be worth it. Although not terrible, the food at Jut’s is just average, and nothing special. It’s not worth what you pay for it.

Went as a group. The service is outstanding. Had an omelette served with pancakes. It tasted good. The prices are affordable.

My boyfriend and I have gone here several times this winter. I like the open feel inside, and I can only imagine how great it would be on a nice summer day when they retract the roof. The seating is very patio-esque – wrought iron tables and chairs(for the latter they have cushions, but they’re no Lay-Z-Boys). We have never had to wait for a table, either, which is great – especially on New Years Day. The menu is pretty traditional, but it’s very focused on a variety of omelette and pancake options. I’ve had the veggie omelette and banana pancakes – both were tasty.

Was on my way downtown and wanted a place for brunch. As I go to Pompeii from time to time for dinner, I knew about this place but never went in. Well last weekend I tried it for the first time and liked it. Got seated right away and after looking at the menu, decided on a make your own omelette with mushrooms, provolone, and bacon. Got my choice of toast(beware, English Muffins cost an extra $ 1) and potatoes on the side. The food was nice and hot, and the coffee had unlimited refills(bonus they had flavored creamer too). My only minor complaints were that it was a bit too warm in there(was sitting near the fireplace) and there was a group of ladies sitting next to me that were quite chatty. Otherwise it was a nice experience on an early Saturday afternoon.

I love the food here the biscuits and gravy are my absolute favorite. They are always so helpful they always greet you so nice every time you come for breakfast it’s a very comforting place. I love to bring out of town guess because they always make me feel so special and make everybody feel like this is their home. And not to mention two people could have a great feeling breakfast for $ 20 there’s not too many places in Chicago that you could say that about. I can’t wait to go back.

I may have given this place 2 stars for their skirt steak and eggs but everything else in this place is a no star(sorry to say). Call me emotional eater but I do count service as part of my eating experience so here’s why this place is the lowest rating: Poor and very very slow service. Our food came 35 – 40 mins after ordering. My frittata was tasteless and took longer to be cooked/served than the skirt steak, I ordered and paid for donut holes but never got them, the whole long wait with no water refill, the waitress’ boyfriend came and sat and appears to have been trying to settle things with her and in turn just turned her day upside down(so pathetic), coffee was refilled but the cream and sugar weren’t, waitress never checked to see everything is good(if she did, I wouldn’t have all these complaints). POSITIVE: roomy, no long wait, bright, parking available. NEGATIVE: tasteless food, poor service, long wait for food, inattentive waitress and management. Will never return.

Good food, short wait but the coffee was horrible! I try to save my coffee consumption until the weekend, therefore I was looking forward to a good hot cup of joe. It should have been complimentary and even then I would’ve passed on it. Servers could’ve been more attentive. Bonus: free parking in Pompeii parking lot.

Very affordable prices. I went on a Monday morning so there were only about 5 other occupied tables. I had the yogurt banana split and my boyfriend had a build-your-own omelet with Italian sausage, cheese, mushrooms, spinach, and bacon. Bellinis were delicious! Service was very attentive. There was a slight mishap with our food and they were very accommodating.

Reasonable prices, no wait at 9AM like most brunch places, pretty attentive service. You would come here for pretty standard breakfast fare, nothing unique. But it’s done well. My friend had French toast, I customized my omelette with prosciutto, provolone, and mushrooms. It was a bit salty, probably because of the prosciutto. Server kept our coffee cups full, food came out in a timely manner. The only hiccup was that our server seemed a little impatient when it came to the bill. We were just enjoying our conversation, so it did take us a while to get to the bill. But at one point when she came to see if we had signed our receipts, and we hadn’t, she said, «Come on, you two, get on the ball!» I think(hope) she meant it as a joke, but I felt it was a bit out of line. The place was not close to being packed, so it’s not like they needed our table. Overall, though, I had a good experience. Would come here again.

Came here for lunch and found a gem of a deal. Less than $ 7 bucks for a half sandwich and half soup combo! The sandwich was a little dry and probably required some more mayo or more moisturizing elements, however, the french onion soup was great. Soup wasn’t too salty and it has the toasted croûton with cheese on top. Would definitely come back for this deal alone.

I am shocked that, being in the University Village area, this place is not pricier and swarmed by overzealous UIC students. Oh well, better for me this way! My sister and I were seated immediately on a Saturday morning. First up, we ordered the yogurt banana split. Oh my god. It was to die for. Such a simple concept, but one that I have never seen anywhere else! Next up, my sister and I decided to share a skillet(FYI, skillets are HUGE!). When it arrived I went to split it in half, which quickly revealed a thick long hair that was cooked into the potatoes, EW! Hilarity ensued though. We informed our server who told the manager who offered to make a new skillet with even more hair(haha!). All was well though, and a new skillet sans any hair was quickly delivered. And along with it came two free drinks :) p. s. The setting is the most adorable ever! So sunny, practically like eating ourdoors.

So it’s Saturday(or Sunday morning) and you are craving some brunch. You are walking on Taylor street, expecting to get the good stuff at Stax(or Sweet Maple), but the wait is like 40 minutes! You are much too hungry for that. Instead of hating your life and waiting forever, walk down one more block west on Taylor street to find Jut’s. There is typically little to no wait for a table, outdoor seating, and food that is just as great as any of the other breakfast places in Little Italy. It’s actually a bit cheaper too. So take advantage of a great brunch experience, without the wait, before the word gets out!

I thought this place serves very nice breakfast with reasonable price. Run by the same people running Pompei, this place is right next to it. We went for a breakfast on a Sunday morning when it was a bit too early for a brunch. The omelets were pretty good. They also serve fresh fruit juice too. Another plus is the glass ceiling through which there is sunlight coming down on sunny days. So it feels like you are dining outdoor without having to deal with all the noise and dirt on the streets.

What a find! The prices are great and the food was awesome! Service was great and all the staff smiled. I wish it great success! $ 3 mimosas on Sundays!
