Jerk City

Got ½ chicken (white)with shrimp, and tilapia. ALL of the selections were good but spicy without the sauce. (I like it like that) but others may not. The sides were average I had cabbage, beans and rice and she had Mac n cheese and cabbage. The only gripe I had was the food wasn’t as hot as it should have been temperature wise like it had been microwaved.

Polite, good portion sizes, sides are very good, just not the best sauce.

I tried the jerk chicken salad. It wasn’t bad but not GREAT either! The chicken was over cooked and mushy in texture and i had to add my own onions and cucumber… it did have a good kick though, i would try something else.
Service: the lady taking orders has a terrible attitude very condescending in nature! Overall see for yourself

Customer Service Is Everything & You Won’t Find That Here!!! How Could They Get Mad Because THEY Didn’t Have Jerk Sauce.?? How Could You Not Tell The Customer That You Don’t Have Sauce BEFORE I Ordered? I Will NOT Order From Here Again They Are Too Damn RUDE. Got home to eat the food & it was just OK. Cabbage was plain as idk what, rice & beans tasted like Zataran’s (from the box) smh & my lobster tail was tough … Not a good visit for me.

Went here yesterday after seeing a certain barber always posts about how bomb the food is and I was highly disappointed. We got there as soon as they opened and though there is a notice on the window that food is cooked to order it took 50 minutes for two jerk chicken dinners. You would think that this food would have been the best jerk in the world. No it was not though the chicken was tender I was extremely disappointed that the red beans and rice came out of the zatarans box. The Mac and cheese was alright. The best thing about the food was the jerk sauce for the chicken. With that being sad try it at your own risk and please don’t go on your lunch break because you will probably lose your job waiting for that expensive mediocre food !

I tried this place for the first time. It was horrible, they didn’t have any dark meat, lobster, shrimp, or jerk sauce. The wait was 30 plus minutes. Food taste like it was frozen not fresh, the 4 chicken wings were so small a toddler wouldn’t get full. Very disappointed. Our black businesses must do better !

I’m addicted to this place!!! The food is amazing!!! Best to phone your order in or be prepared to wait 30+ minutes.

Tried this place last weekend for the 1^st… AMAZINGLY good food! I’m actually craving it again a week later. I would’ve gave it this restaurant 5 stars only if it didnt take an hour to get my food. But don’t let that turn you away! IT IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT! It actually made the food much better. I had jerk chicken with macaroni and cabbage! It was so good!

The food is good but customer service was really lacking. That’s half the battle of any successful business. And I really want to see my black owned businesses do better!

This place is a true GEM in the «hood»!!! The lobster was fantastic and the jumbo shrimp are actually prongs!!! Now where are you going to get lobster tails and prongs in the hood… for $ 25.0!!! We HAVE to support this place!!! I’m STUFFED!!!

Spent close to $ 15 and received the driest chicken I ever received in my life. I will not be back anytime soon.

I tried the jerk lobster tail, it was pretty tasty, if you like lobster you should try it. Because it is jerked it is a little savory and spicy, so you will need water, it is not too hot but definitely more savory. The place is really small so don’t miss it.

Well I had to try this place after seeing a lot of people on social media saying it was the better than jerk villa. I knew it was too good to be true. First off I went on a day where the temperature was in the low teens. It was absolutely no heat in the waiting/​ordering area. Ok cool I guess I could deal with that as long as I get good jerk food. I paid close to 15 dollars for a ¼ chicken with two sides. The chicken was super dry with barely any jerk seasoning on it and the sides were lackluster as well. The service is what u would expect on 71^st street non existent. Sorry jerk city but u will never see another dollar from me, I’ll go to where real Jamaicans are cooking jerk.

I should have left when i walked in and there were no Jamaicans!!! I dout these people have ever even visited an island! The food was dry, cold, and in now way jerk. The cashier had newports on top of the register and on the counter behind her there was everything from coffee to cleaning products! The absolute WORST; they should have closed before they ever opened. New and hot??? New and nooooooooot!

Just simply the worst jerk food I have ever tried. The food was extremely dry and very high. The portions was tiny and not worth the 15 dollars I spent there. Wanted to support and I did. Tried to call by no suprise no answer. Well I rate this place a negative 0 and it doesn’t touch jerk villa or and other jerk restaurant ever. Well a new jerk place will open soon so this has to be better. The few that rated this place good have to be friends there’s no other way sorry.

Amazing place for Caribbean food. Positive owners and the lobster is awesome. The chicken is quality and they have 2 different sauces. Both are great! Definitely a regular customer

Love, love, love the chicken, tried the cabbage for the first time and got really sick (won’t try that again) but the Mac and cheese is good
