This joint has such great beer and drink specials! Last I was there, Tuesdays: $ 2.50 everything… Wednesdays: $ 3 everything… seriously! Great, great, great drinking spot!

Absolutely loved this place. This was by far my favorite bar while I was in Chicago. Such a divey feel with dive prices. They have crazy drink specials each day alongside with whatever happy hour specials they run every day. The crowd is a nice mix. Seriously there was guys in suits, college kids, graduates the whole spectrum was covered. They have a juke box and it was awesome hearing music from all the different generations playing from all the different ppl choosing songs. Awesome fun bar with good vibes check it out !!

Awesome college and chill bar during the non crazy weekends. Bartenders are really cool, they did not pressure me into buying drinks I was not ready to get

A fun spot for casual drinks during the week. They’re specials are insanely competitive, and they still use the pre-happy hour liquor sales caveat of 24 hour deals. The entire front of the building is made up of large, bay windows that open up during warm weather. They also have plenty of TVs, making it a great place to catch a game. However, during the weekend this place turns into an actual fraternity basement, boasting some of the highest dude to girl ratio in the tri-state area. The last time I went on a Saturday, I, at the ripe yung age of 23, was easily the oldest person in the bar by about 7 years. But, if that’s your scene, or if you’re that young, it’s definitely a fun place to hang out!

You can’t beat the weekly specials, I haven’t seen prices on drinks this low since I was back in Ohio. Place is clean and neat, nothing special, but a spacious bar with lots of drink choices and great daily drink specials. Check online before you arrive so you know what they are.

Halligans was my go-to spot when I lived in Lincoln Park, but I still visit when I’m in the neighborhood. Great drink specials and fun atmosphere. However, on weekends this place is packed. Not the place to go if you don’t like the crowded bar scene. I’ve met a lot of fun people at Halligans though!

THE spot for affordable drinks with that local feel you can’t get at many places in Chicago on Monday. Also a great party spot on weekends. All around exceptional.

This bar is awesome. I’ve visited when it has been both busy and a little dead, but had the same great fun regardless. The specials they have are the reason I keep coming back. $ 3 Fireball shots every day to accompany my $ 4 Jack & Coke. Great place to meet someone to pregame before the clubs or to stay the whole night and not spend your entire savings account.

I had a great time at Halligans. I’m from Nebraska and stopped by after the football game this past fall. The legend and Chicago native Joe Ganz recommended we check it out. Best priced drink and most fun atmosphere in the area. Every song was perfect. I highly recommend grabbin a drink at Halligans if you’re in the area. Brat

Don’t get me wrong, I love a great dive bar that’s cheap. It isn’t the bar itself I have an issue with– it’s really the ‘clientele’ that ruin this place. The d-bag factor is EXTREMELY high… I have tried giving it a chance on a few different occasions as I was hopeful, but it’s off my list now for sure. If you’re looking for«tough guys» with beer muscles, this is your spot.

I love this bar. It’s dark, smells like a frat house basement, and has goofy stuff on the walls — but it’s great. Frankly, you can’t find a more attractively priced beer in the Chicago area. The bartenders are also attractive and quick to put me down and not laugh at my jokes which, really does it for me. Guys love it, girls hate it. It’s like porn. I’d go any day of the week. I have gone every day of the week.

First time going to Halligan bar and surely won’t be my last. Arrived at 7 pm on Tuesday to catch up with a friend and enjoy the Bulls game. Place was pretty empty but it was still early. Around 10 pm the place started getting busy and the party was kicking in. Halligan is a good chill spot. Tuesday they have some good specials($ 2.50 drinks) The music was average — played different genres… Only down part about this place is that they do not serve food!!! However, you can order food from an outside place and they will deliver to Halligan :)

Lots of dudes = this place smells like farts. We were there for three hours on Saturday and we kept expecting that smell to dissipate. Nope. Maybe there’s a sewage problem? The only redeeming quality was the cheap prices for drinks.

This is my go to bar, but I’ll give an honest review. This is a good spot to go get schnookered with your friends. Prices are VERY good for Chicago. The bar smells like beer and it’s usually 80% dudes. As I said, you go here with your buddies to enjoy each others’ drunken company that won’t put a hole in your pocket. Sometimes the bartenders like to play blaring loud music to drowned out any conversations people are having, so I can’t give it 5 stars.

Our bartender Katie Hicky, was AMAZING! Best service ever! First time here, and will be back all the time! Especially Tuesdays that have a $ 2.50 drink special. Loved the flow, and the strong drinks! Great place.

Super cheap drinks with daily specials. This place is fun and draws a younger crowd, but it definitely gets packed to the point where you can barely move around. If you’re on a budget and you like to drink, for sure check this place out!(Oh but there’s a $ 10 card minimum!)

Writing a review of Halligan is going to be quite difficult, primarily due to the four fireball shots I just took at the bar. But I’m going to try to get it done anyways. you are walking down Lincoln Avenue(day and time does not matter, Hally’s is always open) and you are looking for a fun bar. You stick your head into John Barleycorn but are disappointed to see that it’s nothing more than a giant display case for models of wooden ships. You decide to check out Lion Head but they won’t let you upstairs because you have a hat on. down the street you walk but the rest of the bars are as empty as Allende on a tuesday morning. crossing the street you decide to check out this place called«Wise Fools». there’s three people in there and they are blasting Nikki minaj songs. It doesn’t seem safe. As you leave, there’s a corner bar that catches your eye. Welcome to Halligan’s. It’s really hard to say enough nice things about this bar. For one, the drinks are extremely cheap. Pretty much two to three dollars for anything you can ask for, any day of the week(although my preferred drink, a simple Well-Gin and Soda is $ 6. Maybe we can get a Sunday Special Gin and Soda for $ 3 or even $ 4? I’d be happy to edit this part out if we could get this worked out. Thanks) They have a shot of the month for like two bucks and my friend Marty is always willing to buy a few rounds. The bartenders are really great. They stand out from other bartenders in a number of ways, but my favorite characteristic is how they always refill my water without me asking., They are quite friendly and very efficient(I don’t know how they do it as the bar is always very busy). pros: entire floor dedicated to men’s bathrooms, interesting clientelle cons: really close to Wise Fools, people are always playing Ellie Goulding on the jukebox

If you ever come to Halligans, it should be for their specials. Went there Monday night for the Hawks game and was more than pleasantly surprised to find that beers were a steal! Who sells beer in Chicago for $ 1.50? They have other great specials too, but I didn’t get a look at all of them. Beyond that, one thing that might turn some people off is that Halligan’s doesn’t serve food, but for my friends and I that was great! We just took turns running to one of the many good food joints on the street and picking up something to bring back to the bar. Other than that, bathrooms were clean, service was quick, to seating arrangement gave everyone a good amount of space and the retractable windows we awesome!

Cool pub in a cool neighbourhood. I don’t know how but we had the drunkest of people come up to us and hang out with us and buy us drinks. We talked some fantasy football but at the same time thought he was borderline going to start a fight. Either way hilarious day! The pub has an awesome collection of Chicago beers, the space is large and it’s pretty clean. Drinks are decently priced and the atmosphere is laid back. We went on a beautiful day and the place was really bright as they had all doors and windows opened. TV’s all around to show whatever sporting event and highlights were happening around the world. I’ve never tried food here and I definitely didn’t use the washrooms as some people have complained about. The bartender so sofa king cute… yup I’m going for a smoke.
