Expensive thin-crust, and not particularly mind-blowing for the price. These pizzas are made to order and while they do taste quite good, running at $ 13-$ 18 for a thin-crust pie which can only feed 1 – 2 people is a bit steep considering the plethora of other fantastic pizza options in Chicago. We ordered the margerita, one meat pizza, and one vegetarian pizza, and the 3 cost $ 52 altogether, which I think is a bit ridiculous. Granted, it’s a nice breather from deep dish, but when it comes to made-to-order thin crust, you can definitely find comparable pizza for half-the price.

Wonderful pizza and GREAT service! Prices are reasonable. We split a classic and are stuffed! The sauce is amazing! Thin crust is the way to go. Our server Rhys made the meal even better. He was quick to bring us water and checked on how things were going several times. He even took the time to visit with us.

Since this place is right below my apt building it makes it super convenient on nights I don’t feel like cooking. They have great pizza… My favorite is the margherita pizza. The service is sometime a little slow but it’s worth the wait.

Very intrigued by this place. I ordered my first pizza here this week(the veggie), which was delicious. Will be back soon for more!

I’m from Boston and can tell you this is hands down the best thin crust pizza in Chicago. No one else even comes close. 5 stars for the food. 3 stars for the weird hours. If they were open regularly and closed later, I wouldn’t go anywhere else(Website says they’re open all day, but they’re not)

Not very pleasant experience. The place is very small, so we moved to the third floor at first, then moved back to the ground floor since the upper stories are tiny and dark. The pizzas we ordered, a classical and sicilian, the sicilian is average, and the classical is really sour. Both if them is freshly out of oven, quite juicy, but not expressive at all. Probably won’t be back just so average.

Pizza was pretty solid and they made it quickly but it’s just a bit too pricey for me to go here regularly.

I have always loved Flour & Stone, but am SO disappointed by my experience yesterday. I was craving their awesome pizzas and decided to go for my favorite from there: the margherita. We ordered, paid, waited for it, and then got in the car. When I opened it up, I was all«WHHHAAATTT?!» My husband said I looked totally crestfallen. I was. The sauce was completely different from before, and then — QUELLEHORROR — there were maybe 10 teeny anemic pieces of mozzarella cheese. One slice only had 1 tiny piece of cheese. Pizza = Cheese. Cheese = Life. Full stop. I’m attaching a photo because this was just not cool. I don’t know if they changed their recipe, are trying to church things up, or are cutting costs, but whatever it was it was not ok. RIP cheese.

Expensive, but delicious. Now I don’t know if it was because I was just so hungry, but the pizza had a really good flavor with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We ordered take out which was easy enough and reheated the pizza before eating so it was nice and crispy. It tasted good the next day also, which, let’s be honest, is the real test of a good slice. It’s not a New York slice, but it’ll do just fine. I guess everything in this neighborhood is expensive, but since I’m new to the area, Flour & Stone gets 3 stars not 4 because of price.

I was very disappointed tonight. After finding their«app» a easy way to order pizza, went to pick my pie after the 25 mins states on the confirmation page. Upon arrival, the server not only didn’t know that I had paid online but told me that they were delayed due to lack of staff. I was going to have to wait at least another 30mins. They kept taking orders, I heard the cool telling her to stop serving, guests continue to arrive and I had no pizza. After long argument, she called the web page costumer service and got my reimbursement. They should have closed the doors for the night and not embarrassed themselves. I should have stuck to my diet and not ordered pizza. Thank God Whole Foods was open and I got two delicious slices for better price.

Ordered the Chopped Salad($ 6.95) and the Sicilian Pizza($ 15.95). Salad was fresh and delicious — awesome combination of crunchy pistachios, creamy Gorgonzola, apples, greens and onions. The pizza was spot on– not your traditional Chicago pizza, but who cares? You can get THAT anywhere. This pizza had a thin crisp crust, white sauce, bacon and onions. It was a little sweet, a little salty, a little savory, and incredibly fresh. Easy 5 stars. Came at 5:30 on a Saturday night — no wait. Restaurant is clean and service is fast and friendly.

Good neighbor gem. Everyone has their favorite type of pizza so give this place a try yourself to see if it fits your taste. Friendly wait staff and you can watch them cook your pizza in the wood stove.

Flour & Stone is right downstairs in my building, which is… really convenient. It helps though that it’s also really good pizza. I’ve had several pies«back in the day» and they’re all very good, but the SHROOM($ 16) just stands out as the best. No meat, just tangy red sauce, cremini mushrooms, red onion, fresh garlic. The combo of those with their good cheese, thin crust, and perfect wood-fired cook time results in simply a sublime pizza. The red onion here somehow borders on shallot-tasting. The mushrooms are intense. The saltiness is just right. The crust is chewy crispy. Did I mention this is THIN, East Coast style pizza? Thank you! Bollocks to deep dish! They’ve got a few good beers, a small convivial dining room, friendly staff and fair prices. They also participate in Spring Rewards(.com), a very simple and hands-off loyalty program. AND they give building residents 10% off, nice touch.

The staff is super friendly, which has earned Flour & Stone two stars. Unfortunately, the sauce completely destroys these pizzas and the concept isn’t immediately clear — do I order at the counter or… at the table? This should be *immediately* obvious for customers. We ordered the Margherita — the crust was pleasantly chewy, the dollops of buffalo mozzarella were on point, and the basil and olive oil were satisfactory. That sauce, though — it’s way, way too thick and sweet. Almost like a super sweet spaghetti sauce than pizza sauce. You want to root for this place because of the awesome staff, but unfortunately I cannot recommend you stop here for a pizza. Not in a city with so, so many better-tasting alternatives.

A good place to go to before seeing a movie at River East. A good variety of red and white pizzas. We got the classic pizza, which is red, and the sicilian which is white, both were really good, had plenty of toppings, and were served fast. Not a whole ton of beer choices, but the ones they had were solid, i got the brickstone IPA. Not cheap but reasonably priced. I would definitely return

We have been here a few times given it is around the block. My wife is not a big pizza fan but does enjoy the neapolitan style pizza. This has an incredible meal deal before 5 pm of a one topping pizza and salad for $ 16. How does it get any better?!? It really cannot. The salad is fabulous. I love salads with pistachios, which this has. The pizza is delicious as well. I am partial to sausage pizzas.

Sparse Toppings in a pizza that is priced according to area. BEWARE: 1 pizza + 1 glass of wine = $ 26+ plus tip. Ouch! Garlic galore(2 of 6 pizzas has fresh garlic). WINE&BEER — decently priced($ 10 below per glass). SHROOMPIZZA($ 16) — just okay. Chewy dough. Still good when reheated. Evenly distributed toppings. CHOPPEDSALAD($ 7) — what a dry green leafy leaves I chewed. Contains Radicchio. Another moment of countable toasted pistachios. VENUE — Cluttered. Do you really have to stack those pizza boxes? Doors to kitchen and freezer are wide open. Crumbs. Confusing. A counter or table service?

I wanted something quick, and it was that. Quick. The veggie pizza had all the right combinations of textures and flavors. But other than the greatly added artichoke hearts it was just another soggy thin crust pizza joint. And to my disappointment the caesar salad dressing was not caesar-esque ATALL, but more of a lemon aioli. Caesar you NOT.
