i usually always have a good time at dore and end up going there if my friends are sloppy drunk and im with a good number of guys that would hold me back from going to other places that are more strict with their entrances. The music is always pretty good, and the bartenders do a pretty good job of taking care of everyone. it’s a pretty small place, but i could care less about that. as long as the music is good and i can get down, im down. the décor is nice. i feel like it gets overshadowed by it’s neighbor social 25… but really id rather freely walk into dore than wait in line for overrated social.

This is sad. I had to look at some of the Unilocal photos to confirm that I was at Dore last Friday night. Our group came here by recommendation of some locals. The place is tiny but roomy enough that it wasn’t overcrowded. I guess the door guys did a good job controlling the capacity to a comfortable number. Music(from what I can remember) was a mix of Top 40s that night. As someone that works in the nightlife industry, I would’ve pointed out a bad DJ. But then again, my mind was separated from my body that night. So to the DJ that could’ve been bad or good, you were good that night. Other than that, all I know is that I had fun. Thanks Dore.

This was my first time here so I don’t know if they have same DJ every Saturday night that draws this particular crowd but I was impressed. It’s a really small venue — long and narrow. If my friends and I didn’t have a table it would have been uncomfortable to get around and find space to dance. There didn’t seem to be a cover even if you didn’t have a table — I’m not 100% on that but I didn’t notice anyone paying on their way in. The other groups that had tables were all social and having fun so it made for a good night. I’d try it out again…

I was pleasantly surprised by Dore. I had heard good things about this place from other people, so I decided to check it out on Saturday night. As others have noted, the place is tiny! But thankfully, it wasn’t too crowded. I actually liked the size of the place because it was low-key and intimate. My friends and I had more than enough room to dance and were able to find a couch to chill on. The crowd seemed to be relatively laid back which is a nice change from the general Hubbard scene. The DJ was fantastic. He played a good mix of old and new hip-hop that kept everyone up and dancing. The bartenders were also really nice and got drinks relatively quickly. There was also no wait at the door which I appreciated(again, a much welcome change from the general Hubbard St. scene). All in all, I had a good time! Good drinks, good music, nice space… I’ll definitely be back!

celebrated my birthday here on 10÷22÷11 and had a blast! music was great– dj was yojimbo. i’m a huge fan of hip hop and this dude played all the good classics– not that auto tune crunk music crap that’s on the radio now a days, and did mix some of good new music in also. booked an open bar package through niko and he was good about getting back to me and confirming my party. place had seating that was not reserved for bottle service which was good for my party. got a pretty cheap deal– $ 25 for top shelf open bar. had a party of about 25 people. i’d recommend this place to friends for sure.

we stopped in here because a friend was DJ’ing here on a saturday night, so of course the music was great! unfortunately, the rest of the venue wasn’t so great. Dore is such a small place, very long and narrow with no where to really dance with all the good music. just the ambience and people there at the time did not give us a good feel of the place. I don’t think I’d want to come back to this place.

Went here on a Friday night(10ish) for bottle service. Made my resv about a month earlier with George who was quite helpful. Door man had my name on the list and got in with no wait. We were one of the few groups there at the time being so early. John(manager) greeted us and took care of us since the waitress were late. Very friendly and greeted each of us and checked on us several times until the waitress took over. This place lost a star for the music and volume. For the first hour they played hardcore rap very loud and it was a little uncomfortable. They next switched over to house and pop music but was still extremely loud for the place considering it was still half empty. John had the DJ turn down tho volume at our request though, so that was nice. Overall: Pros Friendly attentive service Interesting crowd for people watching(several groups were bochata and merengue dancing) Cons Music and volume need to be adjusted for the people and amount of people in the space.

I went on a Wednesday night and had a great time. I like that the place is intimate. People bitch about it being small, but there are plenty of other big clubs in that area. It’s nice to have variety as you don’t want spots to be carbon copies of each other.

After dinner a few weeks ago, a friend and I decided to have another drink and were trying to decide where to go and just sort of wandered past this Dore place… I work a block away and had no idea it was here, so we were checking it out from outside when one of the bouncers invited us in. After being assured we wouldn’t have to pay for bottle service(it looked like THAT type of place), we decided what the heck. We sat ourselves down at a nice little table, and ordered drinks which seemed to take ages to get. It gave us a chance to check out the crowd which was… weird. As others have said, there’s the 22 year old girls in stilettos and tiny dresses, and the over 55 male crowd. That pretty much sums it up. After one drink, it took about 20 minutes to track down our waitress again(and it wasn’t crowded), which made us to decide to get a check, versus try for another drink. Good thing — this place is on the pricey side. Also, it took another 20 minutes to get our bill(seriously, I set the stopwatch on my phone just to check). Dore is pretty to look at, but if you’re thirsty I would go elsewhere.

I was here on Friday and didn’t even know it and no I wasn’t that drunk… at least not then. My friend and I were sorta ushered in by the door guy. I asked him if we could sit down and have drinks because we didn’t want the expensive table service and he said it was fine. So we drank our expensive drinks, listened to some loud music which was good, we just couldn’t really talk to each other and checked out the really, varied crowd. After a drink a piece we were ready to move on but it took — and I’m not kidding — over 20 minutes to get the check and pay for it. They apologized, but eh… stuff happens I guess. Interesting place… not sure at all what to make of it.

The only reason we were here was because the line for Social 25 next door was too long and the bouncer just shoo’ed us in. Well no wonder! The teeny venue that could accomodate probably no more than 25 people had about 8. well 12 including the 4 of us, and it was already past 1 am on a Saturday night! It’s just like a long aisle with tables along the side. Then the DJ started playing decent hip hop(compared to the other dives we hopped from, the music was excellent!) and so we got a few drinks since we were already here and sorta danced around the glass tables – sorta because we kept get interrupted by people passing us and the guy cleaning up the tables. Drinks were a tad pricey but I guess typical for a «lounge», ~$ 10/shot. HOWEVER they ran out of beer. HOW is it possible that a place who serves any type of alcohol run out of beer? And the crowd, well people would come in and out so we got to observe the interesting folks here. I’m not sure who exactly this place is catered to because we saw a few really old people, then a few super young people, and then a few nerdy guys(not the cute nerdy). Dore also closes around 3 am, which if you do find yourself stuck here just hop over next door to Social which closes at 5 am on weekends. It’s more worth the wait and there are wayyyyy more than 12 ppl who are actually dancing there.

Stopped in here for a couple drinks on a Friday. It a small shop that has a fairly mixed and random crowd. Good music on Friday night that mixed R&B, Rock, Hip-Hop, and just a little bit of everything. But crowd was random. You had mid 20 fabulosity of ladies, the DJ crew and his friends, and then I swear a party of 55 and plus group that MUST be from a conference that was in town. They were living up in bottle service, and a 55-something older lady from the burbs came up to me, and said, «You ladies enjoy yourself. Do it when you are young and can wear those heels still.» Kinda random. I don’t quite get the general vibe of the place just yet. It was a holiday weekend so it just seemed a bit off.

Since I don’t think the only other review counts as any real input on Dore — I’m going to consider this the«first to review». Unilocal, please take notice. K, thanks. Anyway, after an awesome time at Gilt Bar we thought it’d be a good idea to extend the evening for a little while and ended up going to check out Dore as they have a pretty decent Tuesday night(if that exists). Actually, I can’t believe that I used to go out regularly on any given night of the week. Dore is in the old Dirty Martini space. I only knew that because of the bank record from our tab. Was Dirty Martini even open for more than a week? We got to Dore at about 1130 and it was actually pretty crowded albeit a small, long space. I don’t even know what the crowd was — it looked kind of burby. The music was good though — mostly house/electro — nothing too extraordinary but definitely worth a fist pump or two.(And, for those that don’t know fist pumping did not start w/Jersey Shore). We didn’t stay very long as the realization soon dawned upon us that going out on a Tuesday is wack however, if you too are in a position that requires a lounge/club with a decent crowd early on in the week — Dore is probably a good option.
