AWSOME time at social 25!!! But it was the bartenders that made my night fun! My friends and I went for my my bday a few weeks ago, and the 2 bartenders that stuck out were Amanda and Kara!!! They were super friendly and unbelievably hot, just impressed with the speed and efficiency of how quick they can make a round of drinks, all while not afraid to throw a little dance move like it was part of the technique!!! That alone would make me go back !!! The music Was good but a little more EDM and less hip hop would prob make this club unstoppable with that 4am license!!’ JS… Could have potential to run el-hefe right back to Scottsdale!!!

I visited Social Twenty Five with a group of classmates and had a much less than desirable experience. We organized an event with a group of graduate students with hopes of having a night of drinking and good fun. When we arrived around 9:45 p.m. Social Twenty Five was mostly empty and had not yet opened the downstairs basement. When we arrived(about 10 of us) we entered largely with no issue and went straight to the bar to listen to the music and watch the last bit of the game that was playing. About a half an hour later, a group of our friends were stopped at the entrance as all of a sudden there was a «guest list» required for entry. My friends are non-white. When I asked the bouncer to present me with his guest list he became irate and said that he «didn’t have to show me anything» and no one was allowed to enter as there was a private event. I asked his supervisor to explain to me why 30 minutes earlier this wasn’t stated and all I got was a «things change.» I do my best to not assume that there was malicious intent, but it was clear that Social Twenty Five caters to a specific client that does not include anyone of color. I’ll never visit there again.

Worst place ever! I’ve never in my have been treated so badly in my life. Two of these troll bouncers put their filthy paws on me and left scratch marks/bruises. They shouldn’t have the right to put their hands on anyone especially a girl. One troll got mad bc it was closing time and told us we had to leave. I told him we were just waiting for a friend that was in the bathroom and they were from out of town. I guess that was a good enough reason for him to physically hurt me. And not only did he put his hand on me another troll bouncer did as well, which, by the way looked identical to the first troll. They both grabbed my arm so hard in the same area that my arm is still very sore. The manager there was also very rude and the only thing he should be managing is his weight. He was huge and looked like a gorilla. He called me a C*** and told me to «take the tracks out of my hair!» Hilarious, because I don’t even know what tracks are. Seriously, worst place ever! These animals need to be put away!

1st of all, the place was dead as hell. 2ndly, Absolutely Racist Bouncers. If you are Asian, expect them to bring up some bullshit about a «guest list.» Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. This is the 21st century. Racism has no place in this era. If you are in the area, head across the street. There are many more happening bars/clubs there.

Bouncers were completely full of crap and racist. They told me and my friends that we needed to be on the guest list and to come back an hour and a half later then proceeded to let in a couple of random white dudes. It was a black guy on the 28th of November 2015 at 11.20pm. I’m adding the date so the bar knows who he is and can fire the son of a bitch.

The bouncers were not only rude, distasteful but Racist as well. Way to go Social 25 for being one of the most racist places in America. Expect a lawsuit in the coming days. 11÷28÷15 @11.20

No cover charge! We were across the street and saw this place and decided to head over! I love the feel for the place! There’s two levels and both levels played good music! The lines for the bars were short, the restroom were clean. Cool hip-hop, edm, live music and top 40s music played here. Good crowd! Drinks were reasonable prices.

Never usually rate bars, but this was the worst bartender experience I’ve ever had. Go up to the bar for drinks for the group. I wanted to just make sure the bartender knew how to make a certain shot and was told to «Stop asking questions» with cuss words in the mix.” After that, there was no way I would tip this guy well. Shortly after, I was cussed out by the bartender right in front of the bar about not knowing how to tip. Seriously? Some people around us felt uncomfortable and they came up to me to tell me they had a similar experience with the bartender, but not to my extent. Other staff seemed friendly but its people like the above that kill it for an establishment.

no line at all on a saturday night around 10:30pm to meet up with friends who were already inside. since some reviews are saying bouncers are racist, I might as well disclose my party. one asian, one indian, one nigerian, all girls. Bouncers were rude and said the venue was guestlist or reservations only, which I would understand if the bar was poppin and there was a long line, but it looked pretty empty inside so I’m not sure the place really was the shit or why people would want to book parties/get on guest list here. meanwhile, many parties of vanilla white men and women just walk past us and straight through the bouncers without checking guest list. anyways, after our friends came out to get us in(and maybe the bouncers realized I’d never slip them any cash), i was already over the place and ready to leave in around 10 minutes. although the inside looks nice and has ample space with two floors, when the live band ended, the music selection was not very tasteful. it was a mix of mostly michael jackson & missy elliott, which I am fine with separately, but not together. I know the name is social twenty five, but i wasn’t expecting straight music from 25 years ago… drinks were fine, but my friend did not like her vodka & coke, which is really hard to mess up. tl;dr – not worth your time. rude bouncers and meh music.

The staffs are REALLY rude and they select the people who is getting inside by things like nationality, which is crime. I can’t accept it, worse place in Chicago, there are better places to go around. There is nothing exceptional.

This place is absolutely ridiculous. You need to wait in line for over 1 hour if you do not give money to the bouncers, for they are busy taking money from people instead of working. The management needs to take care of this guys… Also, a friend of mine had a brazilian id, and one of this rudes took from her because he thought that was fake and, actually, was not. He did not give back to her. That was an unfair, rude, and unlawful experience. Hire professionals not con artist bouncers !

I have been here a couple times and both times I had mixed feelings and both times it was completely different crowds The time in the winter sucked, idk if it was the weather but the crowd was odd and the drink was weak so we went to el hefe instead. The recent visit had a fun crowd, it was a Wednesday night this past July. Bartenders were friendly but the drinks sucked. I would not pay a cover to enter this place

I’m the last person in the world to be talking about the bar scene, but Social Twenty Five was a pretty cool place for cold beer and live music. Was there on a Thursday night and got to catch Hello Weekend, who covered quite expertly a lot of today’s pop hits. Being a metal head, the music they played did not appeal to me, but it was covered so well that I found it tolerable. Plenty of room at the bar, side booths and right in the middle of the floor. Lots of people dancing without making getting around an inconvenience. They served craft beer and it was cold, so I was happy.

WARNING: Don’t use their coatcheck! They lost my coat and gave it to someone else and refused to give me a penny even though I paid for them to hold it. That’s considered illegal and I had to take them to small claims court. The operations manager is a terrible person who treated me horribly and refused to help me after they lost my coat. I had to leave the club freezing and without a coat and sobbing because the manager told me he wouldn’t do a thing about it and didn’t care. I had to have my lawyer write to him and he still did nothing so I had to take him to court. Just a terrible experience. The drinks are also extremely overpriced. All in all this place is just a cash cow for the owners and they really do not care about you as a customer. It’s not worth giving them a penny.

I did not enjoy this place at ALL. When we first got there, our friend(who is a guy) had struck up a deal with the security guy. He said we could pay $ 70 for all of us(there were like 15ish of us – guys and girls). When we tried to go in, he then said nope, nevermind and told us it’d be $ 50 per guy. Super whack, so we waited in line. When we finally got in, I was super disappointed. It was way too crowded and a mediocre venue. There’s no room to dance, although people will try and they WILL step on you. This place also attracts a really weird crowd. People are rude(stepping on feet and purposefully pushing), and overall, really creepy and weird! There were a bunch of really strange men who, even though I was with my boyfriend, still tried to grab me, rub their private parts on me, and whatever other weird a$$ stuff. I will not be back! Don’t go here unless you feel like being lied to and molested.

2 and a half stars? That’s it Unilocalers?! I had a really good time here! It was a Thursday night — no line to get in and no cover charge.(I noticed a lot of Chicago places don’t have a cover charge?) It was crowded but definitely still a lot of space to walk/dance. DJ was good — he catered to all music tastes from old school hip hop to top 40 to edm. People are super friendly. Come with a fun group and dance to your favorite songs!

If you enjoy overpriced drinks, douchebags, sexually transmitted disease, and getting ripped off, then Social 25 is your place! The only times I’ve been forced into coming to this shithole is when one of my idiot friends gets conned by a promoter into doing their birthday party here. The people are dirty, pretentious, and gross, the drinks are weak, there is no beer on tap, bouncers are assholes, and it’s so dark that I wouldn’t be surprised if date rapes happen here on the reg… How this place has a line on weekends I will never be able to fully fathom. I prefer Public House, Hubbard Inn, or Bull ‘n Bear, all which are within a stone’s throw of Social.

I’m not quite sure why this place has so many negative reviews. I guess to each his own, because we had a BLAST! We started bar hopping after dinner, this was maybe the 3rd or 4th place we hit up and it was about 2:30am. The line was CRAZY long and the music kept you in line in anticipation of getting to the front. Initially unable to get, friend slipped some cashola the bouncer for the uneven ratio of guys to girls(there were two of us chicks and 5 dudes(am I allowed to say that? Happens everywhere, right?) and we got right in. Upon entering, this place it’s just as expected, packed to the brim with music so good all you want to do is dance. Everyone in their reserved areas were dancing on their tables and couches. I mean, why wouldn’t they? The music was beyond awesome. There are tons of TV’s around with a mix of sports and music videos for whichever song is playing. The line to the bar is quite a wait, but no worries there’s a club in the basement! We made our way downstairs, there was an open dance floor that was pretty empty, same music as upstairs, TV’s with the respective music videos, and possibly by fluke, a bar with no wait. After each song, it just kept getting better and better. We ended up leaving an hour and half later to get some grub. While waiting for the rest of our peeps to come out, I overheard some guys saying that the«club sucked, couldn’t get in, and the music was so last year». To each his own, yeah? Apparently on a Saturday night, this place stays poppin’ until 5am! I wasn’t awake long enough to find out, but was an awesome place to end the night, regardless of what time it was.
