As I write this review, I am terribly conflicted. The thing is, I seriously LOVELOVELOVE the pizza at Ciao. But, the service well… just sucks ass, point blank. So, what does a person do in this sort of situation? Apparently, I’m glutton for punishment because I keep ordering from them. I know that I’m going to be treated like a second class citizen and the ordering/delivery process is going to be a very painful experience, yet I keep ordering from them. Why??? Because the pizza is just that delicious! It’s worth the inflated price tag and it’s by far the closest pizza to Italy that I have ever found anywhere in the U.S. So, if you’re up for an emotional and patience-testing beat-down, I suggest you try Ciao Pizza because in the end you and your tummy will be the true victors.

DONOTORDERFROMCIAO! You might end up sick as a dog like me and my friend. Despite Ciao having screwed up our past orders more than once, this was the final straw. We ordered the calamari appetizer and a stuffed half spinach/mushroom and half cheese pizza. They mistakenly sent us a full spinach/mushroom so they said they’d send another whole cheese. Two hours later, it came and it was cold. Aside from both pizzas tasting«powdery» and gross, the two of us who ate this food were throwing up all the next day and I had to miss work. Mind you, this was the only food we had eaten all that day so it couldn’t have been something else. I called Ciao to complain, but NEVER got an apology or a call from the manager. DON’T RISKIT!

I’ve only ever had delivery from here(thank you Grub Hub for steering me in the right direction!) and I absolutely love it. Whenever I decide to try pizza from another place I end up disappointed. The crust is amazing and thin — right out of the wood oven. Delivery is always earlier than they say and 9⁄10 times, piping hot — like they baked it on the way to my house. The pizza is never heavy and the cheese doesn’t go rubbery like many other self-proclaimed«gourmet» pizza places. This is authentic stuff. I only gave 4 stars because my order was messed up once — not severely, just missing a topping… otherwise, 5 stars all the way — this place really does deliver!

It’s a WINNER! I tried Ciao Pizza for the first time tonight. After getting a menu under my door(and wondering how they got past security) I placed my order. 1. The sauce was awesome. Love at first bite! 2. The crust is the REALDEAL! Real«Thin Crispy Buttery Goodness» 3. The Pepperoni is yumm yumm GOOD! 4. Record Fast Delivery — With the most delicious NYC style pizza you will probably ever have in Chicago. 5. Delicious — Hot — Fast(does it get better than that?) I had to take 1 star away because I ordered Pineapple(my favorite) and I got pepperoni instead. However, I was halfway through the pizza before I even realized. I’ve found my NYC love — and her name is CIAO Pizza.

I tried Ciao Pizza for the first time about 10 days ago, and I have had it 3 times since then.* That’s weird. But I am a huge fan. A couple of things to mention… 1. If you pick up from here, the sign still says Fiamma, and it is in «no man’s land» on oak st west of orleans 2. Don’t pick up from here. It’s weird and awkward, and you know how there are just those places you would rather not know what the inside is like? OK. Now on to the pizza. It is REALLY delicious. Thin crust, both crispy and chewy. The sauce is the best part in my opinion. It had a perfect amount of sauce on it the first time for regular people(but I like my pizza saucy). The next time I ordered it had less sauce, so now I order a plain cheese pizza with extra sauce. I could seriously have it every night. Delivery is always really fast, and they have coupons for free coke and dessert on grub hub. *i started this a while ago and have ordered even more since then, the count is around 8 – 10.:)

This place is solid. Have ordered from here twice and have found delivery to be overall timely. I miss NYC style pizza and the offerings under ‘special’ or ‘thin crust’ categories have been to my liking. The first time I placed a delivery order, the pie was somewhat cold and the cheese was congealing; however, the second time(piping hot and earlier delivery than quoted) more than made up for this misfire. I might consider bumping my rating to four stars if more inventive salads and a greater selection of pizza customizations are on offer, however, this is a great option for those who are looking for an approximation of New York-style slices.

This place is quite good. The crust could be a little crisper, but that might have been a delivery thing, after putting it in the box, it softened a bit. Such good flavor to the sauce, you can even add ricotta and spinach and mushroom.

I came home after a day of running errands to find a menu tucked under my door. Always being up to try someplace new, I decided to give Ciao Pizza a chance. I’m a little gunshy when it comes to trying new pizza places, so I decided to go for a calzone and some tiramisu instead. I got pepperoni, prosciutto, spinach, and artichokes. I was quoted a 45 minute delivery time, but it was really closer to 30. My food arrived, I paid the delivery guy, and sat down to eat. The calzone wasn’t bad. It was decent sized, and had enough of the stuffings. It wasn’t exactly overflowing though, and was a little soggy. The tomato sauce was pretty good, and was a good compliment. The tiramisu was pretty decent. Kind of a small slice though. My only real gripe is that it was a little expensive for what it was. That’s the only thing that knocks it down. Other than that, it’s not bad. It’d probably be better in person.
