I live 2 min from here but I will never return. After not one but two horrible experiences with a very rude and hard to deal with man. Both on the phone and in person he is very rude. The food is just mediocre so trust me and go to one of the thousands of other Chinese places in the city.

I have mixed emotions about this place, I live right by there and get the food often and it’s pretty decent, but they are just so unbelievably rude every time I go that I swear I’ll never go back. The guy at the counter, who I am assuming is the owner because he’s always there, literally makes you feel like he hates you for buying food from him. On second thought, my emotions aren’t mixed, this place sucks.

Mixed feelings about this place, sometimes its good and others its not. They are really really rude and to add to comment below there was a hair in the bag where my food was at I told the man and he just took it out. He didn’t apologize or make an effort to apologize or correct it. I am trying to find another place for chinese take out but none seem to be close enough. I wouldn’t bother going out of my way for this spot.

Please be careful when you eat at this restaurant. I was there August 28, 2014 and as I was waiting for my food I seen a ROACH. I told the owner and he grabbed it with the rag that was used to clean there tables. I asked for a refund and he started telling in his language. He was extremely upset because I asked for a refund. Please eat at your discretion.

It was okay. I walked over here from my house after I found out another neighborhood place was closed today. I got some crab rangoon and a small orange chicken and white rice. The orange chicken was good, though not very citrusy. I do admit that for 5.55 I got an incredibly large portion. I was a little disappointed that the rice container wasn’t filled to the top like at other places, but the rice was an admittedly better texture. Most places I can almost tell the rice is getting hard as I’m eating it and this wasn’t the case here. I would have given this place more stars if the crab rangoon tasted better. I felt like it could have used more cream cheese but that’s just a personal preference. Otherwise the place was very clean(I sat in), the food came out incredibly quickly and was very very hot. Good experience.

For the super cheap lunch special price you get a lot of food which usually is enough for good 2 people. Of course the food is little greasy and not the best Chinese food but for the price of fast food it is really good. It takes them like 15 mins for carry out.

Rudest phone service from ANY place I’ve ever called to order for pickup/delivery. Had to call 3 times just to finalize an order. Before I even get to finish the order– all I get is «Ok» and click– I was hung up on. I guess we will find out if the food is worth the rude service over the phone. From what I can gather, they will never get my business again.

Alright… I’m doing it, writing«one of those reviews.» I was unhappy, I ordered Beef Lo Mein, because I love the stuff… They didn’t use Lo Mein noodles… thin tough noodles are NOTLOMEIN. Naturally I called and complained(normally, I wouldn’t but, I REALLY wanted Lo Mein) and it went absolutely nowhere, which is where I expected it to go… Normally their stuff is okay, but not when I want something really simple. Don’t ever order Lo Mein from these guys if you really want Lo Mein… because you won’t get it, you’ll end up with crappy noodles and delicious«other stuff.»… thank god for SRIRACHA! NAPALMTHEJUNGLE!

The food is so-so and the guy at the counter is rude. I go there a lot when time is tight since it is just around the corner, but it isn’t very good. Everything tastes the same. The guy behind the counter doesn’t like to give extra hot mustard for their bland egg rolls.

One night I had taste for Chinese food and since this was so close to home and also cheap! I had to try it and see what this little spot was about. The good, ordered a sesame chicken which was delicious, the mongolian beef delicious, the amazingly delicious crab rangoon, and a mediocre egg rolls and a smoothie that too was mediocre no tapioca that they don’t have very disappointing cause I was looking forward to it! Charging for the hot sauce past e was a little to much excessive. But I will be back for more good tasting food that is very close to home.

Of all the Chinese takeout places I’ve experienced, Chinese Kitchen is one of the good ones… so far. I would’ve given this place 3.5 Stars, but since we can’t, I’ll just round up because of the good food I’ve had here. Recently, we’ve tried their Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Beef Chow Fun. All dished were good, not the best, but good. What I like particularly of this establishment is that their various Combo Meals for lunch are also available for dinner, at the same price. That makes my tummy and wallet very happy! Overall, good food, okay service, good prices.

If they would like to give me more packettes of sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce(NOTTWOOFEACHFORTWOPEOPLE) I would return… The location at Milwaukee/Central is 100 times better… I’ve been here a handful of times and due to the stinginess and retardation on the staff’s behalf, I either make the trip to the Central location or order from China Chef on Belmont by the Tony’s…

My family and I order from here a couple times per month. We enjoy the beef on a stick, chicken on a stick, pot stickers, and crab rangoon. The entrees are good as well. I wouldn’t call it the best in the city, like some others(just my opinion), but it’s good, inexpensive, and fast delivery.

Pretty standard, good. Get’s the job done if you’re in the mood for typical, inexpensive quick-service American-Chinese food, a la lunch special. No digestion difficulties afterward. Nothing worth complaining about, or really praising for that matter.

I do not understand why this place is being touted as the best chinese takeout in the city. Not. Even. Close. The food was sub par, even for a cheap, greasy, chinese takeout place. Based on the reviews, we ordered the crab rangoon, mongolian beef, egg rolls and general tso’s chicken. The crab rangoon was flavorless, although there was a lot of filling. It also tasted like it was overly fried… more so than usual. The eggrolls had a funky aftertaste, which even the duck sauce could not fully drown out. The mongolian beef tasted really processed and far oversauced. I guess the general tso’s was the best out of all the others. Totally mediocre, if not worse. Also, the delivery took over an hour. Considering we live a mile and a half, that’s kind of ridiculous. I’ll be trying another place next time.

julie is right. best chinese takeout/delivery i’ve had in chicago. my family orders here so much they have 3 credit cards on file LOL. i usually get one of their lunch specials(i.e. general tso chicken, sesame chicken, orbeef chow fun) and an appetizer(chicken wings, crab rangoon, or pot stickers). they give you huge portions for the money you pay them. the food is tasty and not too greasy. the delivery is stifling fast, hence the food is always hot and ready to eat. haha the old man that delivers is really cool, because he talks about random things(i.e. the weather). this is as good as takeout will ever get.

The best chinese take –out in the city!! Portions are huge and you can order lunch specials all day from the lunch menu for around $ 4 .which include entrée, egg roll and rice .Try the beef fried rice, Huge chunks of juicy beef and rice is always cooked perfectly.
