Unassuming joint on Western Avenue/don’t judge a book by its cover! Inside it’s a great Irish Joint with a great bar & many TV’s; looks to have very recently been totally remodeled. Beer list was great with many locals on tap! Food was very good as well. We tried wings & burgers with the wings being the better of the two. great buffalo sauce! Great service as well, give it a shot. Gat Dat Did

Came here on a Saturday night around 8pm and intended to grab dinner and a drink and leave, but the place was too awesome to leave so soon. The shepherds pie I ordered was delicious and filling, and the staff was incredibly open and friendly. The regulars were outgoing and a good group to watch the Warriors/Thunder game with. Being new here from Michigan, I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. The place was very clean and well-kept, drinks were relatively cheap, and the Irish theme was well-done and evidently going strong. Cara and AK were awesome bartenders, and made me feel right at home! Glad I decided to stop in.

First time here and I was really impressed. Ordered lunch special half sandwich, cup of soup, chips, soft drink $ 7.99(full sandwich also available $ 11.99). Had the Stampy Sandwich(Bacon, Avocado, Cheese on Sourdough) and Cream of Chicken soup — they were REALLY good. The homemade pub chips sprinkled with parm cheese were some of the best I’ve had — perfect consistency. The place itself is excellent — exceptionally clean, roomy, Irish homey atmosphere, tv monitors viewable from every angle. Note, high-top tables only, as well as high-tops around the bar. 8 brews on tap which unfortunately I did not sample this visit. Also has an upstairs back room with bar and tvs. Will be back soon!

I used to work here a long time ago, and have very fond memories of burger nights, karaōke, and Bears games. Now as a patron, I can say that they still run a top-notch bar with great food, drink selections, and events. Most recently I bought Paint Nite vouchers for some friends for Christmas and we decided to redeem them on a night at the Crown. They had the painting supplies set up in the back and the server was very attentive. We then stuck around to eat and the food was as delicious as ever. The server even bought us a round of shots after I mentioned I used to work there. Celtic Crown, thanks for being a great place for a fun night any day of the week!

I thought this place was grimey… and that was before I saw the coughing bartender take a swig from one of the liquor bottles behind the bar. Not sure if it actually touched her mouth or not… but too close for my comfort! I had the beer battered fries(very good) and a rum and diet… coke was totally flat. Will not be back here again.

Great neighborhood bar. Good vibe, friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi. Free Popcorn. Daily food and beverage specials. I’m sitting in the bar now… there’s a mixed crowd of strangers sitting around the four sided bar… hanging out, chatting about whatever while classic rock thumps along in the background. Lots of laughing. It sounds cliché, but it’s not unlike a modern day«Cheers.» In the main bar, a dozen highboy tables are scattered around a central fireplace. Satellite rooms are used for overflow and special events. Open Mic on Tuesdays. Trivia on Wednesdays. Happy Hour on Friday: $ 2 Tecate and $ 2 well cocktails. Love it.

I threw a surprise birthday party for my husband here and the process was seamless from the get go. Jenny was my contact person to book their room downstairs and Joe is the GM who was present during the party. All the staff are great and so accommodating. I ordered a few trays of food and they all tasted great! Specifically, the quesadillas and the ribs were a big hit. Oh, and the kitchen staff brought out the food in such a timely and professional manner. Everything was fantastic! Shout out to Susan, our awesome bartender who took great care of us. Don’t hesitate patronizing this local pub.

The fish & chips was the worst I’ve had in my entire life. Literally. Not edible. Fries undercooked. Paid $ 6 for dessert, was a tiny cup with a dollop of crème and Hershey’s syrup drizzled on top. Hideous. Had to call Grub Hub to cope. Lost money on this one, & have terrible upset stomach. Run!

Great place to watch ucla football! Love the memorabilia. Excellent priced drink specials for a Chicago bar. Our server was a ucla alumnus who gave us great service. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Love this bar, staff are great and Joe the manager is a stand-up guy! I’ve always received prompt service and the entire staff has been incredibly accommodating for large parties. I’ve never had a bad experience at the Celtic Crown and they always have amazing deals.

As an update, I recently returned for a Chamber of Commerce event and found significant improvements in service and quality. Joe the manager has done a great job turning this place back into a great neighborhood place to eat and drink.

I haven’t been to this place in about 5 years. Last night after a long ride of picking a friend up from the airport we were starving and wanted to eat and drink somewhere close to home. It was pretty empty but hey it was a Tuesday night and there was a monsoon going on outside. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the Royal burger and fries… delicious! The boy had wings… no complaints at all from him. Good food, good service, & $ 3312 = happy girl here! There was also an open mic going on in a separate room which we were going to check out but we’re old & we were tired so we went home. There seemed to be a decent small crowd back there though. The fact that this place is within walking distance is definitely a plus. We will back!

This place is huge inside… unfortunately it was also basically dead on a Saturday night. My friend and I were after beers and we got them. Then we got the hell out of Dodge. They seem to have changed management recently so maybe there will be good changes in the near future.

Free popcorn! The specials are pretty good and they have various TV’s to watch the game. I enjoy this place and their wings. Just a heads up it is under new management so the check in Isnt valid.

I’m biased with this being a neighborhood joint, but if you asked me a couple months ago, this would be a 3 star place. However, they recently updated their menu and did all the right things. The bison burger was awesome and juicy. Actually, it was great to see all the burgers come to the table with visible char on the outside, but the inside still pink. You grillers know it takes skill to get a medium rare bison burger that is still crispy. You always had a good selection of sides, but they pared it down a bit. Tots and crinkle cut fries are crispy. Their tasty in house shepherds pie is still available… order it with a Founders oatmeal stout and go home happy. In fact, they have a wide selection of craft, domestic, and imported beers with daily drink specials. Parking is tough on the street, and I wouldn’t necessarily make this a destination for outsiders. I would, however, make it a mandatory visit for locals and the beginning of an epic north center bar crawl… did I mention they have trivia on Wednesdays?

I used to come here often when I first moved home from college. When my bridesmaids asked me where I’d like to have my bridal shower, I suggested Celtic Crown. My shower was yesterday, and it was phenomenal! First, who can resist FREE space for a party??! Secondly, the food was good — my bridesmaids got the Italian package; beef, Italian sausage, pasta, salad. Mike was there the entire duration of the shower. He was attentive to the needs of the party, and was not pushing us out the door when our time was over. The other bar tender that was at the main bar even helped us carry some of the bigger/larger gifts to our cars. We had access to the TV/DVD system as well. We used the upstairs, back room, and it was perfect for our party. There was about 5 of us, so we were all seated together on the main side of the room, and we were able to put the food on the other side of the bar. This was great because it allowed us to keep all the wedding stuff in the same room; i.e. the gifts and cake. As the guest of honor at this event, I can’t speak for the behind the scenes info, but as a guest, I was truly pleased with Celtic Crown as a bridal shower venue!
