I really enjoyed our meal here! The menu had lots of different options and the staff was very friendly. We both got the green curry ramen and split an order of taro fries. Still not sure what taro is but it was salty and delicious! It is a great neighborhood spot with a great vibe. Also– Tuesday’s have half priced ramen. Can’t beat that!

What a lovely find! I came here with a friend on a Friday night and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is great, service was prompt and kind, and the food was excellent! I was pretty basic with my order and had the California and Go Green rolls, both of which were delicious. We also got a free order of the Taro Fries for checking in on Unilocal. Overall, this was an awesome experience, and I’m excited to return!

I was given the pleasure to try the fries from this place. They had a promotion for free fries with a Unilocal checkin. They were the most delicious(and unique) fries I’ve ever had, I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I came here for lunch and was welcomed with fast service and a sociable staff. They were not overwhelming busy at the time, so it was great to chat with the team about the business. I would recommend this place for their spicy whisky chicken. It was a unique that could not be duplicated.

Great place to eat for special occasion. This place is so cozy. The waiters are so sweet. The only downside is the size of the sangria pitcher. It should be in a bigger jug.

Came here for dinner with three friends. Service was pretty bad — there were only two other groups in the restaurant and it was hard to get out waiter’s attention for anything other than water. Food was the most disappointing. Fun ideas and flavors on the menu, but really underwhelming ingredients. Avoid any of the makis, and be wary of the meats. DONOT have the taco tapas plate(forgetting the name). Won’t be coming back here and wouldn’t recommend this place unless it’s really cold and you don’t want to travel far.

very cute place, with good food and great ambience. came here with mum and J for dinner. Mum had the wassup wasabi– a wasabi martini which was very delicious and most of their cocktails were 8 $, which is cheap, i think. We tried some of the buns– i liked the avocado tempura but not the pork belly or the shrimp. Call outs to the crab cakes small plates and the korean sliders, but i thought the ribeye tacos were a bit of a miss– its just ribeye with lettuce. we also tried the duck noodles but i was really full by then and couldnt do them justice. for dessert we got the chocolate lava cake special with vanilla miso ice cream– this was really good. I didnt like the cookie dough chopsticks as much. the wait staff is good, they seem a little busy but were attentive and helpful. since they were a table of 3 they pointed out which dishes had 2 pieces on them so you can order the third if you like. they also have some deals available, we got 15% off since we presented the menu to them and we also unlocked free garlic edamame when we checked in on Unilocal

Cute tapas place. Inside décor is very trendy and comforting. Their taro root fries are delicious. Received a free one with there check-In deal! The tapas style is suck a convenient way to eat because you always want to try many things on the menu but not so big of portions but this restaurant cures you worries and gives you what you want with awesome food! The buns were so soft and yummy… Especially the Avacado bun. I will return to this restaurant when I’m back in that area

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time!!! Doesn’t look too great from the outside, but take a step inside and you won’t regret it. Ordered lots of appetizers and some sushi. Will be back to try the fried rice and ramen at some point. Drink menu is great as well.

Pretty average Chicago sushi. Service was okay, and the bar selection was better than average. I don’t think I’d go back.

Food was amazing! We ordered a lot of the specials like the super kraken maki and crazy dragon roll. Which were amazing. The tuna tostado was also yummy. Drinks were spectacular. Service. Eh. Would of liked more interaction considering the restaurant was almost empty.

Bites= chomp! Came here on NYE and had a really nice experience. Ambiance in this place is adorable– very cute and welcoming with fun décor. Hubs and I split the pork, chicken and avocado baos to start, which were very tasty(especially the pork)! For our mains, he chose the Chinese sausage fried rice and I opted for the Tonkontsu ramen and made it spicy(because, why not?). Both were really delicious! We shared the taro fries as a table and they were another great addition! The food was all around great– would definitely order or eat there again. Docked one star for the service– it took quite a while for our server to stop by and both take our order, to deliver drinks and for our food to come, but overall we had a really nice experience and I’d return!

OMG what a great meal. Bites is awesome! So many Asian favors and as its tapas style, it is best to come with a group so you can try a bunch of things. Came with some family and friends for a Christmas Eve dinner. When we arrived at like 6 there were only a few tables but by 7 it was fairly busy. We had so many dishes(see attached photos). What I really liked was how some of the favors reminded me of home which is always nice. Some of the highlights: Drink: sparking jelly sake(trust me and get this!) Small bites: everything but especially the tuna tostada, crying tiger, taro fries, chicken wings, devil eggs, and bbq pork with coconut rice Big bites and sushi: Chinese sausage fried rice and angry crab roll All in all a good time, super friendly staff, and they play awesome classic 50s music which will get you grooving in your seat while you eat!

We really enjoyed our food — ramen, sushi, baos and wings. The only thing our table didn’t completely enjoy was the tacos. They had a good number of vegetarian options for me! They had some good happy hours deals for lunchtime on a Sunday. The prices were reasonable anyway. Seems like a family-run place and service was welcoming.

My wife and I planned a pre-concert date at Bites and we’re totally blown away by the awesome flavors each dish possessed as well as the service the staff provided. We started off with the taro fries(free with Unilocal check in as of 11÷21÷15), garlic edamame & crying tiger app. The taro fries lasted us the whole meal as an in between snack to munch on, the garlic edamame was flavorful but not overpowering and holy shit the crying tiger was amazing. For our main dishes I ordered the chef style Hotetagi, which could have been seared a bit more but was still tasty, and we both got some ramen. The ramen portions are ample to the point we couldn’t finish it after all the apps. We will definitely be back to try the 10 other items on the menu that looked worthy.

Went to Bites for lunch around 1pm on a Friday. We were the only ones in the place until half way through our meal. We tried several dishes. Gyoza, which were very tasty but I would have preferred a little more time in the pan to get that nice crispy bottom. Chicken Katsu sliders, excellent and very fresh. Great dipping sauces and using chicken thighs for the chicken Katsu made them very flavorful. Taro fries, actually more like potato sticks. More great dipping sauces. very good. Chicken Katsu Bao and a pork Bao. A little different than a traditional Bao where the filling is in the inside of the bun. These were like folded«pillows» of dough with the filling in the fold. Another good choice. I would definitely return and try more things(there is an extensive sushi menu). The Thai tea was also very good.

Asian small plates??? Ummmm yes please. I’ve been through the entire menu at Bites and with the exception of 2 or 3 items that weren’t really my style, everything is excellent. From the pot stickers to the ramen, I love it all. If it was socially acceptable, I would wrap myself in their wasabi aioli! It’s amazing and tastes great on everything. The small plates are my favorite but the ramen and the sushi both deliver big on taste as well. Almost every time I’m here I get the gyoza and the samosas. But the Korean sliders and the drunk chicks are great too. The buns are super tasty and regardless of which one you order, you’re in for a treat; they’re like Asian tacos! I have had several different sushi rolls and they were all great. The few cocktails I’ve tried were also well made. They have great priced specials everyday even on weekends and Cub games which can’t be said of most other places in the neighborhood. And you may not know it when you walk in, but they have a really nice patio out back so if the weathers nice, make sure to ask for a table outside.

Woe is me that I did not see the Unilocal Checkin for free garlic edamame! Bites Asian Tapas & Sushi is no Slurping Turtle but is a convenient spot when you are looking to get your ramen fix with a lil something something on the side. I give it 3.5 stars and would be happy to go again to try some more of the menu. Party of four, ordered a bunch and shared. Service was fine, just a slow early Saturday. Here’s our food breakdown: Taro fries: an unexpected surprise! These crunchy thin«fries» come with a nice garlic aioli and spicy ketchup and were a great start to the meal. Bites wings: passable. The flavor of the actual wings was very muted and you needed to pair it with the lime and the sauce, but I didn’t think this was anything interesting. Next! Duck bao: what is a classic in Chinese culture, fell a tad flat at Bites. While the components all represented well, the duck ended up a little chewy and didn’t meet the standards of the usual crisp beijing kao ya that is world famous. Miso Ramen: Delicious! The miso broth and noodles were a hit with everyone. I definitely like these noodles better than the chewier ones at Slurping Turtle and I also loved the mushrooms and bamboo! I always get disappointed by ramen pork so I should’ve gone with the tofu option. All in all, a formidable ramen and would gladly order again. Sushi: Good, but not great. My friend got salmon sashimi and said it came warm which is weird and not normal! Bites Asian Tapas & Sushi was a pleasant Saturday lunch spot and a great place for ramen and Asian«tapas.» 3.5 stars for nice quality food, though a little pricier than its worth.

I’ll admit. I was skeptical when my friend wanted to come here. I thought, it’s just sushi. We could get sushi anywhere, from a place we’ve been before and know we are going to like. Boy was I wrong! This place is amazing. They don’t just have sushi(as I should’ve figured from the name). The best part of places like this is that you can order a few different things and share amongst your group. We ended up with about 4 different small plates. Every thing was delicious. I highly recommend the jumbo shrimp. That was my favorite, but my friend said she likes the drunk chicks the best. The second great thing about this place is that they sell half sushi rolls. That’s right half the roll for half the price. Brilliant! Why haven’t other places thought of this? Again all about trying different things that you normally wouldn’t because here you can afford to. Highly recommend. I’ll be back

Hallelujah, a Northside Asian Tapas joint that does things right. I have to admit, I was not expecting to find this in Wrigleyville. So where to start. The buns. Amazing. The pork char sui, the shrimp, and the avacado were amazing. The ramen was amazing. I had the tonkatsu with pork, my friends had the spicy tonkatsu. Both were top notch. Finally the service. The service was very attentive, prompt and polite. You really can’t ask for much more than amazing food and good service. 5 Stars, I’ll coming back time and time again.
