This is a hidden gem in Lincoln park. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and I just can’t get enough. I love the all you can eat menu, it shouldn’t start being only on Mondays though. The best sushi and good service.

Ringo is a family favorite. The staff is friendly, and the all-you-can-eat deal is unbeatable with great options and quality sushi. Great for families and great for groups. For less than $ 25, you can basically have anything you could possibly want from soup to appetizers to maki to sashimi. Whenever I visit Chicago, Ringo is a must-visit.

Quality has definitely gone down. We ordered some nigiri sushi from the ayce menu, fish was paper thin cut and the rice was gigantic. Basically 3 sushi equal a bowl of rice. The tokyo wings and chicken skewers used to be good but they are overcooked and are dried. Not coming back to this place again, too pricey for that quality of food.($ 24 per person and mandatory 20% tips for 4 people or more)

This dimly lit BYOB is a popular sushi spot with a real neighborhood feel. I’ve only been on Monday nights where it’s all-you-can-eat for $ 20. The all-you-can-eat menu includes soups, apps, makis, and a wide variety of rolls including a few special roll options. Be careful not to order more than you can eat. They will charge you for food left on your plate. The plate presentations are always beautifully displayed. Between the Monday deal and the nominal corkage fee, it’s a great value for good quality sushi. I believe they also advertise with coupons quite a bit; although they aren’t accepted for the Monday night special. A word to the wise is to be cautious with your alcohol consumption here. They tend to project some very avant-garde videos on the wall; which can have you feeling like you’ve landed somewhere in Alice’s Wonderland. Don’t get me wrong, that can be fun but it can also be a recipe for the spins and getting sick after sushi is a real downer!

Came here for AYCE just to give it a try. The staffing is pretty nice but the selection on the menu was very selective and not much of a variety but I guess that’s how it is nowadays for AYCE. It’s really great that there was a dessert option with the AYCE because you rarely see that happen anywhere. We had some rolls and it was pretty average. Our food came in a well timely manner and the waitress were really helpful and accommodating.

After three(3) hours of beauty nap on Rosa J.‘s day off, she headed out with hubby to conquer the AYCE sushi at Ringo in Lincoln Park. Monday AYCE is priced at $ 20.95(as of 09/21/2015), while other days are $ 23.95. Almost all tables around us were doing AYCE, so the servers were on the full throttle, taking each table’s order, and refilling water. We began our journey on AYCE at approximately 1900 hour. Here’s the summary of each round. Round #1: edamame, spicy salmon nigiri, tuna nigiri, smoked salmon nigiri, spicy tuna maki, and rainbow rolls –reflection: for nigiri, we ordered two(2) pieces for each kind. The presentations were visually-appealing. The fish and rice ratio was acceptable for AYCE. Round #2: firefly rolls, firecracker rolls, spider rolls, fatty salmon nigiri, and masago nigiri –reflection: anything that was drizzled in sauce could have been skipped since I couldn’t taste the fish. In order to get your AYCE deal worth, stick with nigiri. Round #3: udon soup, seared tuna nigiri, white tuna nigiri, and shrimp nigiri –reflection: udon soup was a fiasco. They gave me a large bowl with a plenty of liquid and noodle in it. Round #4: green tea ice cream –reflection: hubby and I managed to share an order of green tea ice cream without much difficulty. There’s also an «upgrade» available for an extra $ 5 on top of the AYCE price. I browsed through the menu and didn’t stimulate my interest. The service was attentive for the most part. In between our first and second rounds, we almost felt neglected because the server didn’t come back to take our order. However, we were patient and playing with our phones. Finally the waiting paid off. I think the AYCE at Ringo is reasonable, and the CTA Fullerton Brown/Red/Purple Line station is within ten(10)-minute walk.

Sushi is ok, service sucks I wouldn’t expect the sushi place in Lincoln Park area is so poor. Absolutely, I don’t recommend anyone.

Came in for the $ 21 all you can eat Monday deal and unless you eat A LOT, it’s not really a deal. The prices are low enough that you could get a decent amount of food for less. We had to order an app and three rolls each just to get over the $ 20 mark. They don’t put prices on the all you can eat menu, so if that’s the only one you see, you don’t know the cost of what you’re eating and you may end up overpaying. Check out the regular menu first, to make sure what you want is worth the all you can eat. Or just order everything and stuff yourself. That’s what we did. I was eating plain sushi, no tempuras or creamy bells and whistles, and it was just that. Plain.

Love this place, the atmosphere, the food, the waitresses/waiters, the alcohol, you name it. the only thing that keeps me form going here more is that its so far away. 10⁄10 would reccommend

I found this Japanese restaurant when I was reading a Japanese newspaper, I was kind of exciting that there are a AYCE sushi bar owned(and run?) by a Japanese owner… at least its website said so. But I was kind of disappointed once I got into the restaurant, I don’t feel a bit of any Japanese atmosphere, and staff at front desk and kitchen were not speaking Japanese either. Anyways, it doesn’t really matter… as I think only Chinese or Korean will offer AYCE sushi. so…we were waiting for our sushi… they have a sushi bar, but not too many«fish» in there, the sushi bar was just a decoration. Those sushi we ordered were brought out from the kitchen… ! (not from the sushi bar)… but I still give 3 stars because they have different kinds of salmon, and a lot of choices.

i can’t recall the last time we were at ringo… and we were happy that for the most part, nothing much as changed. we do miss the funny boats that served up the sushi and i nearly cried when they told me they no longer serve banana tempura(topped with green tea ice cream). i’m also a bit sad that they’ve caved under pressure and now do an AYCE like their competitors. i’m not tempted to try it for fear that quality will be compromised… just like their competitors. a huge variety of rolls and they do not shun any special requests. we don’t do many late nights anymore but not having time to have din before a show, we were so happy that ringo was still open at 10:30 and service was still spot-on that late at night.

Three stars is the literally definition of this restaurant. The service was great and speedy, the restaurant was clean, and the food came out fast. Sadly, the food was really just bland. The sushi that came out was overly dry, and required a lot of soy sauce just to be able to chew through each piece. I love trying new AYCE sushi places, and my friend and I always try to adventure out to cool places, but this is a restaurant we do not forsee ourselves coming back too.

So the food from here is really great! They have come to my place of work twice now and I love how fresh the sushi is. I will visit the actual restaurant soon and see if it deserves that final star. But I believe they will because the chefs that prepared my sushi at work were polite and professional. The fact they came all the way to Deerfield is pretty astounding. Stay tuned!

I’ve been to Ringo a couple of times and will be coming back again in the future. First heard about it through groupon. They had a great offer 25 $ for two entrees, a shared appetizer and two desserts. Had a great experience and they offered a coupon for next time. They offer AYCE sushi. Prices have gone up, currently at 23 $ a person(Mondays I think it’s $ 20 or $ 21). The quality is good for the price. For AYCE they offer over 70+ items(says their menu) which include appetizers like miso soup and edamame, a variety of basic rolls(Alaskan, hamachi), special rolls(dragon, spider, firecracker) and a bunch of different Nigiris(salmon yellowtail shrimp tempura). They also have non sushi item like salmon teriyaki plates and udon. Also my favorites red bean and green tea ice cream. Parking is easy to find. Also BYOB!!! All the times I’ve gone they were never too busy and always very nice and attentive. Highly recommend you check this place out.

This is my first time eating here but I promise its not my last. The service was great the food and it came out fast. Me and my family had the all you can eat sushi and let me tell you every piece came out fresh! Tokyo wings are amazing and the Firecracker roll has to be one of the best in the city, hands down.

Wasn’t sure what I wanted to order for dinner so decided to go on Unilocal and bumped into this restaurant. Since I moved out to Lincoln park I haven’t been to a lot of sushi restaurants around here so decided to check it out. Ordered a bunch of things so I would have some leftovers for lunch or dinner tomorrow as well. Got the spicy salmon Rangoon, Tokyo wings, fried pot stickers –for free– and some rolls. The crunchy Cali maki, firecracker maki(added cream cheese) and the RINGO sizzler. Everything was good, but nothing was actually spicy at all. The rolls were pretty large but there wasn’t too much rich, which is good. It was all pretty fresh too. The rolls were warm and the pot stickers and rangoons were a little soggy(they should poke holes in their packaging when delivering.) Everything was pretty good, would defiantly order from here again or go in for happy hr and dinner.

I still love this place! Since my last review(and prior to that), we’ve been here more than 6 or 7 times with and without a Groupon, and with just ourselves or large groups… we love it every time. Please note that they have changed their wine selection — what you see on the wall(priced from $ 12 — $ 15) seems to no longer be their core wine list and they will provide you with an updated physical list… obviously a little pricier. This time we tried the Black widow(soft shell crab, cucumber, topped w/torched spicy tuna, spicy sauce& yakiniku sauce). If you don’t like a lot of yakiniku sauce on your sushi, this is a very happy medium. The Snap Dragon was great if you like spicy sushi… you definitely get a burst of jalapeño flavor in each bite. Service is still great, as is the crab rangoon… but I’ve never met a crab rangoon I didn’t like.
