Great local spot! Excellent customer service. Obviously great beer list, and we pay specials are a plus. It’s a go to for us when we know we want somewhere to get in and have good comfort food.

New to the area and looking for a local comfy hangout. This is it! The food is standard bar grub– but tasty! I can easily sit belly up to this bar for hours

I noticed this place when I first moved to the neighborhood, and I didn’t think much of it. From the outside, all you see is this dingy little dark patio, which is not in the least bit inviting in the summer time and doesn’t make you want to go inside to check the place out. Eventually my boyfriend and I stopped in to meet up with his brother. We needed a bar close to home that had a lot of TV’s to watch the game on. So we decided to give this place a chance. And let me tell you, even tho the outside is not inviting, it’s nice on the inside. This is a nice spot if you want to get a larger group together, easy to get a table and you’re not bumping into a bunch of people like the bars in Lincoln where all the young college kids go. I like the beer menu, food is much better than what I expected, so I was super excited about that. Staff is friendly. So all in all, even though the patio is not inviting, I invite you to go on in and check it out. They also have a bunch of specials almost everyday of the week. Double bonus!

Eh. This place was just okay for me. Maybe it was because our waitress was rude. I did like how the place was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon and they had the game on. The booths were very roomy and comfy too. I came here to try their 25 cent wings and they were not good at all. I wouldn’t pay more than 25 cents for those wings… Their tater tots were good though! And they had the Bears game on. Wait, did I say that already? Sorry, I was trying to find something nice to say about this place, and couldn’t think of anything else… Bottom line: there are so many places in this area with TASTY food and a KIND staff. Don’t waste your money here. Even if it IS only 25 cents.

The 4 stars are mainly for the atmosphere and great time you will have if you come to the Beer Bistro. My boyfriend and I came on a random Thursday and decided to play trivia. They had some great specials: $ 5 Martina’s, half off appetizers and sliders, etc. we started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which came out almost immediately after we ordered. It tasted like store bought dip and bread, but we were hungry and it was good so no problem there. We also ordered their $ 4 draft of the month, the Unibroue Chambly. For food, we got the chicken and goat cheese salad and a burger that had giardiniera – can’t remember its name – and they were both good. Not super amazing good, but solid. Great portion of goat cheese on the salad. We ended up trying a few more beers from their list, including the Deschutes Chainbreaker IPA and the Victory Nitro IPA, both stars on an extensive list. We didn’t win trivia but our service was attentive an we had fun. See you soon, Beer Bistro.

Ordered delivery through the Unilocal app. Pretty standard bar food. Delivery in under an hour. Under seasoned chicken salad, but VERY friendly staff on the phone. I will order again!

I have lived in Lincoln park for 3 ½ years now and ever since beer bistro has opened it is always our go to bar. The staff is absolutely amazing. It’s a smaller staff so no matter what day you go, there is always a familiar face! The daily specials are great! It gives you the opportunity to try different items on the menu! And the salads are DELICIOUS!!! They are pretty much two meals. I highly recommend the chicken and goat cheese salad! And the craft beer selection is excellent. No matter what kind of beer you like they are guaranteed to have something to please every palate. Enjoy! cheers!

My friend and I were meeting her friends here while I was in town visiting. We decided to come here and watch the Blackhawks game as it was in the finals and a fun time in the city. Her friends had already gotten a booth, but mentioned when we got there that the server wasn’t really being very friendly, having the server ask when their friends were going to be there and just being rather rude. When the server came over to the table, she seemed nice enough, taking our drink order and being nice. I ordered a diet coke and my friend and her friends ordered beer. My friend was visiting with her friends, but I was hungry, so when the server came back, I told her I was ready to order food. My friend decided to order her food as well, but one of her friends who wanted to eat, couldn’t decide what to order, so she said she’d come back for his order. She came back about 5 minutes later and he ordered. About 5 minutes after that our food came out. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Ranch Wrap and she ordered a Spinach Salad. The turkey wrap came with fries and it was pretty good. My friend said the salad was good, but it was so big, she couldn’t finish it. We waited about a half an hour and when our server came back(she was not very attentive, she never refilled my diet coke, she barely asked my group if they wanted more drinks/food) I asked for our portion of the bill, so we could cash out. She had to go over what we ordered again to make sure she knew what to put on the bill. Which is not that big of a deal, I actually appreciate that. But when we’re waiting close to 30 minutes and she doesn’t come back, I begin to get impatient and annoyed. Not only did she forget to bring us our bill, she never once came back to get more drink orders from the group. My friend’s friends were getting really annoyed because they wanted more beers. She finally came back, and I asked where the check was, and she said, ‘oh, you want the check? What should I put on there again?’. I was seriously so irritated now. We waited another 10 – 15 minutes for her to get her stuff together enough to bring us our check, take our cards, run them and bring them back. If I lived in Chicago, there is no way I’d come back here. Ever.

The burger that I had was great. Great beer selection. We used an Amazon Local deal, which was a shared app, 2 burgers, and 2 beers for the price of one. The restaurant itself was fine. The service was not great at all, hence the three star review. Example: the waitress asked if she could take our beer order. We ordered from the menu and she had to check to see if they had our beer on tap. Also, when she asked for our food order, she had to excuse herself halfway through to get paper and a pen.

Came here before a show at DePaul University for a quick dinner. Their beer menu is extensive and the waitress we had is the reason why I gave it more than 3 stars because the food I ordered was not great. My friend really likes this place and raves about their food so perhaps its just what I got. I ordered the Smoked Chicken Wings appetizer and a side of tater tots. The taters were amazing — not too hard to mess up so that I was thankful for. But the smoked chicken wings sucked. Really really sucked. It did not taste smoky at all nor was it seasoned. It tasted like chicken wings that they threw on the grill and cooked without any type of rub. I had to douse it in buffalo sauce. My friend had the nachos and said it was delicious so I think I just need to give this place another shot and not get their wings.

I really want to like this place as I live right across the street. But I find it to be just okay. The service is hit or miss. The food is average to terrible. And the beers are 1 – 2 $ more expensive than they should be. I think they could step it up a bit with more consistent simpler food, better service and better beer prices. Finally for a place that is called beer bistro I don’t think their selection is any better than a lot of other bars in the area. Good luck beer bistro fullerton. I have been to the location in the west loop and I know you guys can be great.

Terrible. Has completely fallen into a state of disrepair. No doors on the toilets in the men’s bathroom. Beer list has grow shorter. Just not what it used to be.

Very impressed with this place. The service was great– very friendly and very fast. Like the ambience. Seems like a good place to post up in the winter. Lots of Tvs if you’re into that. And the wing special on sunday can not be beat. Their beer selection is great. You can tell it was chosen by someone who was a beer expert. We will definitely be back.

I’m surprised this place is only 3.5 stars. First, the drinks. The place is called Beer Bistro, so you know they’ve got lots of great beers. If you need help navigating the menu, Jeff is your man. He’ll steer you right! Second, the food. Unbelievable bar food. Great baked goat cheese, fresh hummus, huge pretzel and unbelievable fish tacos! Third, the space. Spacious and never overpacked! The prices are very reasonable too!

To begin with, they have tons and tons of beers and a good tap selection. I think the prices are fair and their bottle list is enormous. The best part was that I was able to sample a few beers! Not many bartenders/servers has ever asked if I wanted to sample a beer, but they give you a small amount of beer in a glass. I had a couple stouts and they were very tasty. We also grabbed some food while we were there and it was good. I had the grilled chicken sandwich which I probably wouldn’t get again(I only got it because its a healthier choice than others). I’d like to try the burger, but we had the buffalo kalimari and it was pretty good. Spinach artichoke dip was eh, so I feel like they could improve on food. I don’t know if they have a sound system, but they could’ve put a low commentary for the Bulls game that was playing. I think there’s room for improvement so I rated it a 4, but I’ll be coming back here for sure.

I used to have friends that lived walking distance from here, so we visited on multiple occasions. We burb-anites actually ran into a problem: every time we came to the city, we wanted to come to Beer Bistro. Which was a problem, since we love trying new places and frequent Chicago on an infrequent basis. Beer Bistro is one of the coziest sports bars I’ve ever been to. While it can be loud, it doesn’t have that«sports bar» feel to it. Craft beer — good eats — small set-up…all things things make it feel less like«sports» and more like a «craft beer bar». Surely that is the intention, as the craft beer list is extraordinary. We’re big fans of Brixie’s(Brookfield, IL) which up to this point, housed the largest variety we had seen. Beer Bistro rivals that — THOUGH — they don’t switch out the varieties as much as Brixie’s, so I’ll allow for a tie :) I’ve had a few dishes here, but my favorite(other than the incredible tots, so good!) was ordering all of the little pub sandwiches. Between the burgers, deli sandwiches and grilled cheese, they all had a burst of flavor and were fun to share. Be warned: intoxication + bathroom visits = problem, as the bathrooms are downstairs. Also, while it’s cozy, it can be hard to find a seat, so have a back-up option just in case!

I visited Beer Bistro’s Fullerton location for the first time on my current Chicago trip on an early afternoon, and was happy to blunder into their Tuesday $ 3.00 hamburger special: a good-sized burger, with cheese if desired, plus tomato and lettuce. Nevertheless, for much of my visit, I was the only customer in the place; tant mieux, more time to talk beer with the friendly and beer-savvy bartender. I tried four new items: * Lake Effect Brewing Snow. This was my first encounter with this yearling Chicago micro’s products; I’m staying out on the Northwest Side only a couple of miles from their brewery, but they have no tap room, and bar distribution so far is pretty sparse. This is a witbier, though hoppier than most(Saaz, I think). Clear gold, with a light head. Sweetish malt, with some banana-clove character, and a mildly hopped finish. At 5.4% ABV, a fine, sessionable summer beer. * Finch Fascist Pig. Clear reddish-brown, light head. Rich slightly roasty sweet malt taste, with something of a honey note. Touch of bittersweet chocolate cherries in the finish. A fine beer, worthy of a nobler name. * 5 Rabbit Missionario: Pale straw color, with a heavy head. Brewed with wheat malt, muscat grapes, and almonds. Tart, vinous nose. Taste is wheat, with little noticeable grape presence. Sweet, with a low hopping level. * 5 Rabbit Paletas: I’m afraid 5 Rabbit, which has fielded some interesting stuff since opening in 2011, has come a cropper with this one, which is intended to evoke the pastel frozen fruit ices sold by Latino street vendors. As for what it does evoke, though… two of us independently had the same reaction to the first sniff: cat pee.(I also picked up a guava or papaya note.) Taste is sourly citric, rather thin mouth feel, a bit of tropical fruit in the finish. I think this one can be written off as a worthy but unsuccessful experiment. Good public transit access; on the 74-Fullerton bus line, one-half mile west of the Fullerton station on the Red, Brown, and Purple Lines. Other good-beer venues within a couple of miles include the Map Room, Local Option, Revolution, and Quenchers.
