My SFLO vietnamese friends are always highly critical of locally produced Phở. LOL Now I know what I have been missing. There are only about 10 seats in the whole place so this is more of a pick up spot. As we were on vacation we grabbed 2 of the window seats and had a great time. SOMUCHFLAVOR! The phở comes in only one size but I lapped it up and as it was cold(yes it was snowing) they gave me some broth for the road. Awesome.

Get the Phở, just get it. Vegetable version is fantastic too. They load up on the broth, just the right amount of noodles and accompaniments. It’s also a deal, good food for the price. I haven’t had the sandwiches but they’re next on my list.

I’ve been here many times and not quite sure why I haven’t posted a review. It’s pretty much the closest walkable Vietnamese restaurant nearest me. Talk about cheap delicious(Americanized) version of Vietnamese food… well this place is it. It pretty much hits the spot whenever I am craving Vietnamese food. For the first time in two years, I tried their phở and it’s NOT bad! If you need to fulfill your Vietnamese craving this place will hit the spot.

Went here one evening recently for dinner. I walked into this tiny shop and all of the seats were full AND there were about 5 people waiting to pick up their to-go orders. I got an order of the lemongrass chicken spring rolls, which were really good and flavorful overall. The peanut sauce added nicely to the lemongrass flavor of the chicken, and the more regular taste of the bean sprouts. Then I ordered the barbecue Bahn Mi, which was really nice. Meat was a little fatty and. Old have used a little more flavor, but was very good. The dark on and other vegetables had a nice flavor and we’re all very fresh. It isn’t a «service» sit down restaurant, but the girl running the counter was cordial enough. I will definately come back to one of these locations, since it is a small local chain. Also, try the Phở. You can thank me later.

I will say that the spring rolls and seitan sandwich options are very delicious. However the frustration with ordering from here outweighs the delicious meal by far. 50% of the time I make an order I have to go back to pick up something I was forgotten or something that was not made correctly. Not my idea of a good time.

Very glad we stopped in here by chance without reading the reviews – this place was awesome. Generous bowls of hot phở and wonton soup were exactly what we needed. Both soups were perfect in their simplicity, and the lychee lemonade was a big hit too. The space is small but very cozy and welcoming. Will definitely be back soon.

Their food continues to slip. We ordered this past weekend. Still even smaller portions of shredded beef in which I’ve discussed in the past. Ordered the noodle salad: nothing better that two big sticky clumps of rice noodles that don’t come apart with a fork. I also ordered spring rolls which were wrapped so poorly and were 90% noodles and the pork was terrible. I basically gave them $ 5 so I could throw them away. What’s happening over there? It used to be fantastic, now, well…

I appreciate healthier options in the ‘hood and like having a Viet place a bit closer than Uptown. However, the food is lacking in oomph and ahhh. I’ve had both their chicken & beef phos and they get the job done but are nowhere near the best phos I’ve had. They take care in their ingredients — everything is very fresh and looks good. But the flavor? It’s just lacking. The phở needs more… something. I’m honestly not sure what is missing but it doesn’t taste as good as most phở I’ve had. And the meat has zero seasoning to it which wouldn’t be a problem at all if the broth had some good flavor. I’ve heard their sandwiches are pretty good, but skip the phở unless you’re in a bind.

So glad to have stumbled on this place. I had the BBQ Phở and it was sooo good! I ate it in under two minutes. Super cute place too. They had good root beer too which I love. Can’t wait to try the soup next time!

Phở is out of this world. Go for the beef Banh Mi and lemongrass spring rolls. Quick easy delicious!

Food was delicious! Service was fast and super friendly. The veggie bahn mi was superb and the French bread was so FRESH! My girlfriend thought the Phở should have had mint but still loved the dish. We will be returning!

They leave trash on the sidewalk and now a large grease trail from their door to the dumpster. I have had it with this place. Dirty, poorly managed, avoid. Too bad they started off so well.

Based off the saigon classic special I just finished in house, what a crap sandwich. No pâté, maybe enough to clean the knife off. Really small sandwich and shitty ingredients. Banh mi fillings are already inexpensive, and you charged $ 7 for this? #disgrace

When this place popped up in my hood I was SOSOSOSO excited, I love phở. Like a crazy person I keep coming back hoping for things to get better. Here’s the scoop… inconsistency. ARRGGG I want to like this place, it is just SO frustrating to get things like frozen meat; dry noodles; half of a container of soup; no bean sprouts(can’t someone just run up to Mariano’s?!); tiny little bags of veggies. I have to order more bags of vegetables because they are so stingy with their veggies… and then to get charged for it?!. And the price is just outrageous, 10 $+ dollars for phở!!! And then to get cold meat with it? Shame on you. It just seems like you don’t care. Lastly, the last several times I have ordered phở my total price has been different EACH time. Weird. Inconsistent. PLEASEPLEASE get your act together. The bahn mi sadly shares the same 2-star review, expensive and inconsistent.

I didn’t realize there could be so much of a difference at other locations. I usually frequent the Broadway location. I was in the Roscoe neighborhood and had such a taste for Banh Mi BaGet. I ordered a large Wonton to eat there and one to take home. I should have cancelled my to go order. I told the woman behind the corner the won tons were terrible. She said they taste different depending who is making them. They were mushy and slimy. I should have changed my order. When I served the soup to my daughter at home, it tasted even worse. The soup and wontons were awful. I will return to my Broadway location without hesitation.

Great tasting food. But their AC is always broken and the kitchen staff don’t wear hats/nets over their hair. Don’t be surprised if you find hair in your food. YUM!

I’ve lived near by this location for a while and finally decided to give it a whirl! The combination of flavors was initially scary, but I was pleasantly surprised. I went with the BBQ pork sandwich with everything on it — delicious meat, crisp bread and a spicy mix of flavors. Also worth mentioning — the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Check it out!

This review is solely based on the beef phở that I had. I’ve never paid more than 8 $ for a bowl of beef phở. This was over 9. Maybe I’m being cheap. But this is a semi-take out restaurant place, it shouldn’t cost that much. Especially when they are on the cheap side with the ingredients, tiny bit of beans sprout, a couple of basil leaves(literally 2 leaves). And a plastic spoon?(I like my China spoon that can hold more soup!) I have also NEVER had beef phở where the beef aren’t served in slices, this place does it with shredded beef. Can’t say I’m a big fan, I love my slice beef! But I have to say the taste of the soup and the beef are quite flavorful. So, would i being a friend here? Sure but can’t say is my fav place.

My husband and I are obsessed with this place right now. My husband always gets a sandwich and raves about the bread. I love the vegetarian options that this place offers. I’m not a tofu person. But Bahn Mi offers seitan and they cook it so well. I really like their spring rolls with the seitan. They’re delicious, but a little hard to eat because once you take a bite, everything falls out. I also love their noodle salad with seitan. If you’re vegetarian, definitely check this place out. If you’re a bread lover, you should also definitely check this place out!

So the quality has kind of gone downhill. I have previously questioned the cleanliness in the kitchen here but kind of wrote it off. Here’s why: on my last visit I got my usual and the chicken on it(pulled chicken) looked this weird grey color. I inspected further and though it didn’t smell off saw a clump of pulled chicken(light and dark meat) with a long black hair intertwined. I was absolutely disgusted and threw it right into the trash. Please make the people in the kitchen wear hair nets when pulling the chicken. I probably won’t be back for a long time. I really wish Roscoe Village could keep some good restaurants.

Service was just ok, nothing outstanding. My Phó was really good. Spring rolls were alright but not wrapped tight enough and the wrapper was unusually thin.

Banh Mi & Co Roscoe Village. Banh Mi & Co. features Vietnamese sandwiches and soup. I had the Black Mushroom Vegetarian Soup: Vegetarian stock served with black mushrooms, cabbage, carrots, white and green onion topped with crispy fried onions. Your choice of rice noodles or white rice. I liked my soup well enough. If there were a Banh Mi & Co. near me I would get this again. My dining companion had the Pork Rolls Sandwich: Pork rolls and pâté. Served with cucumber, pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, jalapeño, soy sauce, black pepper and mayo on a fresh baked baguette. He gives the sandwich a 4 out 5 stars. Given the opportunity, I would dine here again. Full review: Chow! food chick

Cool Vietnamese place! The lemongrass tofu sandwich is yummy. Spring rolls to. My favorite is Black Mushroom soup with rice noodles. Cool staff. Always smiling :-) Highly recommended!
