We walked out in biting cold/​rain today in the hopes of grabbing some good ol ABP breakfast. Only to find that it was closed on the weekends. This review is only to alert folks to not go with the hours posted here. This location is housed within East-​West university building, and I’m assuming it only opens when classes are in session during the week. Nothing against ABP — just would have loved updated hours for this location.

Since all we needed was something basic to hold us over this was fine. A bit overpriced as expected, but it filled us up. The sandwich menu is extensive and there is also a large, made-​to-​order salad menu. If you get a small soup and sandwich there is a small discount. The seating seems to be in the dorm of a small college so during school time it is probably more crowded.

I went on a Saturday and they seem to close earlier on Saturdays and don’t have all their options available. I had the broccoli cheddar soup and a chicken Caesar wrap. I was starving and asked for extra chicken. The taste was pretty good and fresh overall. However the girl making the wrap hooked it up for me. She added like a pound of chicken breast it seemed like. I wasn’t hungry for the next 7 – 8 hours. When I go back to landmark I’ll definitely check out au bon pain again– though that’s for another day.

This is a great addition to the South Loop area: A Café where local students can get a (as low as I’ve seen) breakfast/​lunch at reasonable prices. Au Bön Pain has some healthy options, too. Hopefully it will increase foot traffic around here later in the day.
Also everything is half-​off past 5 PM, so that is great. Less than $ 1 for really good bagels! (Tip: You can walk 5 minutes from here and buy six bagels from Trader Joe’s for $ 3).

So glad this place is finally open! Such a great addition to the South Loop area. I can finally grab a quick & healthy breakfast on my way to work. The customer service is fantastic as well, this location is so welcoming!
