The only reason I continue to buy these cookies is because they are like a surprise every time! One time they fell completely apart immediately upon opening the package and proved to be mainly flour. They are ALWAYS different! I bought a lot around Christmas time because I figured this small business probably needed as much help as possible. I also thought maybe they could keep together a decent cookie with more business, extra funds, etc… Not the case!!! I’ve tried many locations thinking I might find a decent cookie and alas I did, for an extra dollar and a longer journey you can find such a cookie from THIS same company at whole foods. Although the 100% butter version is somewhat a better one it is not worth either the journey nor the dollar. I will continue to support this small business because I believe in the American dream and I hope one day they can get it together.

I am ADDICTED to these cookies! Butter cookies are my favorite, and these have surpassed the Girl Scouts’ Trefoils on my list. Not too sweet, not too hard, not too soft. Delish! I kind of wish they were sold in larger quantities, but it’s probably better(for my body) that they’re not.

I don’t know about other cities but in Chicago we have this kind of butter cookie that is famous as the«lunchroom style». It’s made with only flour, sugar, vanilla & butter and tastes freaking awesome. This cookie comes as closer to that recipe than any of the many imitators on the market. Sure the latest incarnation has an 80⁄20 mix of butter to margarine mix but it’s still quite good. My only concern is that they go down the slippery slope and before you know it it’s 50⁄50 or worse. I’m sure they’re worried about cost but personally, I would rather pay more for a better cookie and I’m sure most cookie connoisseurs would agree. Also, these cookies need to be all over town not just on the south side. They’re missing a huge market by not being in more stores. The only place I can find them is the walgreens on 35th& King Drive.

Earlier this year I happened upon Crockett Cookies at my local Walgreens. One bite, that’s all it took. I was instantly transformed back to my youthful school days where they served these cookies in the lunch room. I knew then that any future diets were in serious jeopardy. 4 ingredients, that’s all that’s in this«Lunchroom Butter Cookie». Well, today I grabbed another batch of these cookies from the Walgreens downtown. One bite, Pathooey!!! Nasty! Crockett took a perfectly good TRADITIONAL recipe and F****D it up. Their sin? They added margarine. I’m a Purest, so they’ve lost me as a customer. This is easily a 5-Star cookie without the dreaded margarine. Sometimes you just have to leave well enough alone.
