In Cheyenne for just a night with my 12 yr old son and wanted some steak. It’s Wyoming so we figured it should be a great place for beef. I was shocked there were so few options and could find few local steak places. We ended up at the Rib & Chop house based on reviews and location near our hotel. It was a bit pricier than I planned but worth the money. The atmosphere is classic American steak house. Casual without being cheesy. We each ordered a sirloin with baked potatoes. The steaks were fantastic and cooked perfectly to order. The potatoes were huge and salad was as expected. Our waitress Janae was extremely friendly and attentive. We loved her sense of humor! Most importantly we had great service. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is the host was slightly less friendly and Janae could have used a bit more help. Her warm personality did make up for a slightly longer wait for refills. If I’m back here in town I would definitely return for dinner

Omg delicious. The only reason why I didn’t give them four stars is because they recommended the ribs and they were dry and I didn’t like them. The plates we were served on were dirty and not adequate for the size of the meat. I needed to add more barbecue sauce because it was too dry. My husband had the rib-eye and again omg it was to die for. It was juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. I kept on stealing from him little pieces it was so good. I really regretted getting the one pound ribs. Ew. We had to sit at the bar because the place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it gets extremely busy. The wait for a table for two people was 45 minutes to an hour. The bar was busy too, but we waited because we were tired from driving and were very hungry. There were three people behind the bar, but only two take your order. I had water with lemon and my husband had a lemonade. We didn’t drink because we were driving. If you are ever in Wyoming I recommend you pass by and eat up.

Great filet, one of the best we’ve had. Excellent Baby Back Ribs, nicely charred with a pepper based BBQ sauce. Very casual atmosphere and busy, but still pretty fast service. Good price. Definitely a place to come back to.

We were visiting Wyoming and heard this was the place to go. At first I thought the prices were high for the atmosphere, but after the impeccable service and excellent food, I was more than happy to pay the bill along with a nice tip of course.

Oh my! We happen to be in town for our Anniversary. After doing some research, we decided the Chop House was the place to go. We made a great choice! We were greeted by our server Mike who was attentive but not bothersome. He had great suggestions for us, one of which was the Blue Cheese Mashed Potatoes. delicious! I had the ribs which were falling off the bone. My husband had the large Filet and LARGE it was! Made perfectly. When our waiter found out it was our anniversary he offered us dessert. Since we were so full we took it to go… looking forward to it later. They also gave us a card AND took our picture for the wall. Love this place! Wish we lived closer, but will definitely be back. Do yourself a favor and try it.

I was on an RV trip from Florida heading toward Oregon when we stopped in and had a nice meal with these folks. Their claim to fame are their ribs. How did they do? The ribs were awesome! My friends had salmon and burgers. Everyone was happy with their food. The restaurant is very nice. It’s in the downtown area in an old building which is full of character.

Ordered take out of some full rack ribs and some various sides. It was phenomenal– ribs-smokey and tasty, Caesar-huge pieces of cheese, the special cheddar grits packed a punch too! Not expensive for what you get!

Our last stop in a 10 day trip and the meal topped a great trip. I am glad we arrived a little early as the place filled up fast, the service was a 5 plus and the food was excellent. A very nice Wyoming dining experience. The prices were very reasonable and the serving staff was fantastic. If I ever travel Wyoming again and I hope to, the Rib and Chop house will be on my list of must stop again… thank you for a wonderful experience.

We were driving with a stop in Cheyenne for the night and picked this place on Unilocal.Great gumbo and my favorite fried green tomatoes with the added treat of crab. Wonderful. Highly recommend but with no reservations the only seating is in the bar. This was fine with us. The hostess in the dining room was a little curt. The server in the bar –fantastic.

A very good steakhouse in downtown Cheyenne with a killer wine list! This is a very good steakhouse, located walking distance from the downtown square in Cheyenne. This place is always packed, so make sure you get a reservation! The service is very good… and the wine, they have an outstanding wine list! I have been here several times, and continue to be impressed with the wine selection! The food is very good! They have steaks, fresh fish and seafood(flown in daily), ribs from Chicago, and daily specials(last night it was a bourbon pork chop… wow!). They have plenty of appetizers, salads, and sides… all of which you would expect from a fine steakhouse! Try the fried green tomatoes over crab meat… or try the crab-stuffed and then sauteed mushrooms… wow! I’m particular to their filet, as the small is 10oz and a nice cut of meat. They prepare your steaks properly at the Chop House, and your steak comes out steaming! They have a full bar, and they have a bar and grill type of area next door that can get packed up quickly, so get a reservation. A very fine steakhouse in downtown Cheyenne… and yes, I will be back!

Stopped in this nice steakhouse with my bf. He got the BBQ Baby Back, which looked really good. My Ahi Tuna with crab stuffed mushrooms was just right. Not your typical AT dish. Good service, rich beer, not much of a wait. Had a great time!

By far the best restaurant in Cheyenne. I eat here at least once a week. The staff is friendly and the food is great. The lunch specials are really good especially the steak. During frontier days if you are in the mood for huge steak order the tomahawk… it is enormous and every bite is fantastic. I am also a huge fan of their buffalo ribeye. If you are lucky enough to be eating here when the soup of the day is beer cheese, do yourself a favor and order it. A little secret is to ask for bread, they won’t bring unless you ask but if you want it, it’s free and comes with a delicious honey butter. If you’re in Cheyenne and you’re not eating here then you are missing out.

Best steak ever! I’m surprised to see any less-than-5-star reviews here. Had their special ribeye steak with a side of baked potato topped with salt and tonsssss of butter, and it literally melted in our mouths. And whatever it was marinated in was amazing. Trent was our server and he made our whole experience so worth it! Impressed us with his super artistic skills, was very, very polite, entertaining and helpful with our menu choices. Will definitely be back the next time we’re passing through!

Heading east via road trip and we need to stop to watch a hockey play-off game… they have a full bar in a restaurant… their fried green tomato is a bombed! We ordered the 1 lb baby back ribs and rib eye — so delicious!!! Just be careful ordering crawfish they are not good in serving it– they were served cold from 3 different customers we were seated beside. One of the lady bartender was so b**ch to take care of the customers complain.

My husband and I drove to Cheyenne from Denver to see the town and have dinner. I read the reviews on this place and the were right on. I got the buffalo ribeye steak — OMG — so delicious and juicy. My husband ordered the trout with veggies — more deliciousness! Our waitress was Tessa and she was the best, so very sweet. The service was A+ and they staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We found this place on Unilocal Diantha was our server. We had the Baby back ribs, filet mignon & Ceaser salad as well as the chopped salad, loaded baked potato and sweet potato fries. Honestly the best food we have ever had and who would of guessed it would be 2000 miles from where we live ?? They get their meat from something like Fulton street in Chicago. OMG. When in Cheyenne or they have a bunch of other locations you must try !!! Diantha was sharp bright and totally knows what She is doing. Overall loved the entire experience. What a treat fun delicious and a great evening

Really hopping place in downtown Cheyenne, and for good reason: good food, amazing beer selection and good prices. We popped in here on a Sunday night when the place was packed for the Sunday night crawfish boil. Note: if you want a more leisurely and quiet dining experience, best to call ahead and make a reservation for the dining room. The bar is open seating and we were lucky to snag a table just in time before the real crowds hit. So when in Rome, eat ribs, right? Right. However, we opted for the plank salmon with the Jamaica rub. The salmon was delicious — a little overcooked — but delicious. Figuring out what side you want with your main course is quite the challenge, but after a lot of deliberation, I just went with the house salad and a loaded baked potato. Good, good choices. May I just say that without a doubt, that was the BEST blue cheese dressing I’ve ever had. Huge baked potato, loaded up right, and the server didn’t even blink when I asked for extra butter — you know, just in case. The only item I wasn’t super crazy about were the fried green tomatoes. I love, love, love fried green tomatoes, but they were the victim of overload: topped with crab meat and some sort of heavy aioli, they were greasy and the sauce masked a perfectly good tomato. Food took a while to come out but clearly the place was packed to capacity and you can only imagine the kitchen was doing its best to keep up. Service, a little lacking. We sat with dirty plates while many a server and busser walked on by without a glance. With this minor complaint aside, we would definitely return here to try so many other items on the menu: ribs, steaks and more of that blue cheese dressing. Go. Just for that!

I was in Wyoming on a little adventure with two of my pro pool playing friends and we got an invite coming down from Saratoga to stop off in Cheyenne for a bite to eat. We couldn’t argue with that as a couple hours of driving in we were ready to shoot a cow along the way and fry it up. Cheyenne is a beautiful city and from what I was told over our meal the biggest in Wyoming with roughly 60,000 people. I wish I could have spent a little more time there and maybe next go round I will. Okay lets get on to the food… Well I must say the service was quick and prompt with the little steak and mashed potatoes I ordered coming out sizzling hot with the plate still cooking it. One of the better steaks I had in Wyoming most certainly but wish it was a bit bigger. I couldn’t complain for the price of roughly $ 12 on the lunch menu about the size but I just did because I wanted more! Stop in and you won’t be disappointed, nice place, good service, priced right.

My favorite place for dinner in Cheyenne! It’s right downtown in a cool building. A top notch menu selection ranging from chicken fried chicken to buffalo to various selections of seafood; and of course steak! Ribeye is great, so is the filet. If you are in the mood for a pork chop, that’s good too. What I like about the food is that it is NOT over seasoned! Get the side salad with the citrus vinaigrette. I need to try the Cedar Plank Salmon sometime. The smoke wafts in the air when it’s brought out. Also, good selection of rotating beers(Snake River Brewing, New Belgium, etc.). I’ve always sat at the bar for dinner and the staff is attentive. I’m not sure how the dining room service is. As for dessert, guy next to me had the crème brûlée. It must be good because when he finished, he told me he wished he ordered two!
