Bar Louie

Just came here today, they have a Burger Tuesday Special where all burgers on the menu are $ 5. You can choose between a beef patty or chicken breast, and fries or tots. The service here was excellent, all the staff are very friendly, prompt, fun, and sincere! And I came during their happy hour special which consists of half off all beers and martinis! They also had a large party here for a celebration and I constantly saw the managers out greeting customers making sure everything was okay. The bar staff were friendly and talkative and the servers were definitely on top of everything. Highly recommend for anything from just a night out to having a large party celebration. Food was excellent, beer was cold and fresh, staff was amazing! Definitely coming back!

Love to go on Tuesday night $ 5 hamburger night. We always bring the whole family and honestly have had really good friendly service every time. When the weather is nice, we enjoy eating on the patio.

Fun Happy Hour and goes until 7pm! Great option if you get out of the office a little late. I love their salads and tai chicken flatbread pizza delicious!

My overall attitude toward bar/​grills is meh… There’s not a bar/​grill in the country that has tickled my fancy. Bar Louie is no different. The lack of reverence is not necessarily a reflection of the establishment but my own inability to find them useful beyond game-​watching, beer-​chugging, extremely loud, junk food restaurants. Which is exactly what the masses look for LOL… I realize I’m the10% here. Anywho, this Bar Louis location was the typical bar/​grill experience with a sparkle! That sparkle went by the name of Bailey, an adorably sweet, attentive, efficient server who made our happy hour extremely pleasurable.
It was a gorgeous day so we opted to sit on the patio, with direct sunlight beaming on us. I like the free bronzing effect. The patio was also equipped with a fireplace to create an intimate feel. My dining partner enjoyed a Chicken Caesar Salad and Margarita while I sipped on a new & delicious Velvet Merlot red wine. Happy hour wine specials are $ 4 a pop. I’ll be back, this fits perfectly into my recession-​free plan.

Slow service with the bartender. Food is okay way over priced for quality. Avoid this bar

Really disappointed in our last trip here. First, be careful where you sit outside. We went on a Friday night and our party of 5 were seated at a long table, facing directly into the sun. Our waiter never seemed very together. He forgot an iced tea order, and when delivering our bills, they weren’t separated out as we had asked initially when we sat down. It’s very noisy both inside and out, so don’t plan on hearing any conversations. The lemon chicken was «meh». Had to ask multiple times for to-​go boxes.

My college chum and I went for lunch at noon April 12, before a matinée at Wehrenberg Galaxy.
We allowed extra time, because we’d both read on Unilocal that service was poor.
We arrived ~11:45 a.m. You select your own seating. There’s no hostess.
It was not crowded, so we chose a four-​table to accommodate our purses and coats, as well as ourselves.
Right away, we had a server. Ordered our beverages and perused the menu.
She got a cheese quesadilla with chicken. It came with guac, sour cream and pico.
I ordered a cup of tortilla soup and pot stickers
Man alive, was that tortilla soup amazing: corn, onion, carrot, celery, chicken, green pepper, broth and tomato with topping of fresh avocado pieces. All very small cut, so you get a good spoonful of everything.
I pulled the tortilla strips out, because they were getting soggy.
The pot stickers were fantastic. I think there were seven in the order. Sweet, sticky sauce. Not something I’m accustomed to. Nonetheless, they were good. Lovely, unctuous stuffing.
Service was spot-​on. Beverage refills were aplenty. Service was fantastic!
I took home half of my soup, four pot stickers and a wedge of my college chum’s quesadilla — with guac, sour cream and pico. It was all fabulous.
For $ 16, I got four meals.

Happy hour is a busy time, tough to find a seat. Bar stools are too short for the bar. Staffing is insufficient for the crowd. Bar tenders short and hurried, no time to make sure we were satisfied with our drinks nor did she ask if we wanted to order. Second visit during happy hour the service is mediocre at best.

Just wanted to say that the bartenders here have improved significantly! So much more attentive and I appreciate that!

Second time I’ve been for lunch, very slow service just like last time, bathrooms still dirty with paper all over the floor and overflowing trash cans, good to average food but at a much higher price than say, 54^th Street grill across the street. like the average lunch sandwich is $ 13?
My last visit for sure.

Went to Bar Louie last night after a movie with my dad for a quick bite. Place was very loud. The bathrooms were terrible not clean and toilets filled with crap. Paper thrown everywhere. The table we were sat at was dirty and had to be wiped down. I ordered the bltt which was made with two crumbs of bacon, bread drowning in butter turkey straight off a deli roll. Tasted like vomit. My dads hamburger was very mediocre. Place looked like it was run by 20 somethings with no experience. Couldn’t wait to leave that crappy environment. I will never visit this crappy subpar craphole again.

Walked in today and wow the bleach smell was great! Well at least its clean? The food was disgusting grilled chicken nachos, Burger and chicken tortillas soup? The grilled chicken was not grilled it was clearly from a bag and microwaved! The burger has gristle and was gross and the soup tasted like water. What a joke just like Estancia you will be closed soon!

Had our company holiday «party» here last night. Had several of the different flatbreads and appetizers and all were quite good. The Chicken Verde was my favorite, but be warned — it is spicy. Everyone really liked their entrees, but the Street Tacos seemed to be a favorite. We had the chocolate cake for dessert and it was big enough for 3 people. Kate was our waitress and she did an excellent job with our group. We will definitely be back.

It’s a Bar Louie. If you’ve been to one, you’ve been to most of them. This one has a large lawyer and professional after-​work clientele.

I did a lot of dining this weekend in groups of four and was at this Bar Louie with three other people on Saturday night. We got right in and sat outside on their patio which was very nice. I ordered a flatbread that had pulled pork and pickles on it among a few other toppings. It was something different and would have been much improved if it was served hot, had a more crispy crust, and had more toppings on it. Also it was slightly small for $ 13 but overall very tasty. Other items were a club sandwich with fries and the macaroni and cheese with chicken in it. Both were very much enjoyed. We all shared the key lime shiner for dessert and it was very refreshing. Overall it was a nice meal and I would go back if I had to eat dinner again in the Chesterfield Valley.

If I had to base this bar on first impressions, then there would be far fewer stars on this rating. First of all, there was one young man outside throwing up onto the sidewalk where the bouncer looked on disinterestedly. We had to wait outside in line for others to leave the bar before we could enter, but not before a few people who had connections cut the line. Inside, the atmosphere was nice but very loud. The martini I had was good but nothing special.

I’ve been to every Bar Louie in STL, except Kirkwood, and I’m pleased to see that the quality of service, food and drinks is the same at all of them. Nice job creating a consistent chain.

It was burger Tuesday around 5pm. As I walked in, I saw a «seat yourself» sign. There wasn’t much indoor seating as the place was pretty full, and the lot of empty tables all said reserved which was puzzling as some other Unilocalers have stated in their reviews. We sat in the patio since it was fairly nice out.
Service took a while to notice us. We ordered the burger and happy hour apps and it took a while for the food to come out…
Flat bread was very mediocre. Calamari was decent and hot. Probably the best thing out of all the food we ordered. Burger and fries were plain as well. Waiter gave us fries instead of tots so when he got the time, he got us tots which were hot out the fryer. Waiter also didn’t know much about the beers on rotation.
I have been to Kirkwood and cwe bar Louie and have seen better service and food prep, but I do notice that all locations seem to not be the most consistent in these qualities.
All in all, it was fine, but time was the biggest issue. Only come here if you have time to kill.

Sorry to say but this isn’t a place that I’m excited to have in the neighborhood. I thought I was excited to have this location so close but then I went there and now I’ve changed my mind.
Random thoughts:
…their half-​price happy hour stuff represents a decent value; ditto for cheap burger Tuesday
…their «seat yourself» policy can (and did) lead to us being ignored for long enough that I would have bailed if the kid hadn’t decided she really wanted a certain menu item
…our waitress was a flake and did a number of things that made absolutely zero sense, removing the appetizer plates and silverware BEFORE delivering the appetizer ranks near the top of the list
…some of their service concepts make zero sense, delivering the dessert with just one utensil is a prime example
…on the subject of dessert — a piece of cake that goes for $ 9.25 should be a lot of things that their cake just isn’t
I may or may not try them again. There are numerous other options in the valley which are quite a bit better by all measures.
