The food was very large portions! Very surprised that I couldn’t even finish my food I was so full! Service was good, place wasn’t crowded. Soup was delicious, food samples were great. I would definitely recommend this place to someone trying greek food for starters! Very pleased.

Let me preface my remarks by clarifying that I went into the Acropolis Grill with managed expectations. Chattanooga is, after all, a distinctly southern town, and while it is charming enough in its way, it is far from the most cosmopolitan place I’ve ever visited. So I had an inkling of what I was likely to get if I strayed too far from standard American fare; yet they still managed to disappoint. I ordered the gyros, thinking I’d have a halfway decent chance of getting something halfway decent. I was mistaken. The meat was thick, dry, and bland. I wondered if I hadn’t perhaps have been served leftovers from the previous day’s lunch special(if they have such a thing). I also wondered if I might not have found better in the frozen dinner aisle of the local grocery store; which I could’ve tried, since my hotel room had a kitchenette. However, if I’d done that, then I’d have missed out on the ambiance! As it turned out, of course, the ambiance was something else I might rather have missed. The facility itself was fine. Open, airy, perhaps a bit Spartan(to put a Greek spin on it). From my perspective, though, the service left something to be desired; or should I say that desire should’ve been left out of the service, because the waiter was shamelessly, almost comically flirting with one of our party. I can’t necessarily hold the behavior of this one server against the restaurant, unless the problem is that the management hasn’t made it clear to their staff that they’re to pursue romance on their own time. As a group of professionals visiting that establishment to unwind and enjoy dinner after a long day, we expected to be treated in a more professional manner. In summary, I’ll certainly be back in Chattanooga on business, but I sincerely doubt that I’ll be back at the Acropolis Grill. Even being graded on a curve, I found them to be solidly below average.

My husband liked the greek egg rolls. I thought they were too rich and greasy. My side salad was awesome. the southern pecan cranberry gorgonzola… yum yum yum. I got the moussaka. It was okay. Maybe i dont like moussaka. Just tasted like marinara sauce. I liked the cheesy top. Hubbie got fish and chips. It was blah. Nice delicate fish but coating overpowered and salty. Éclair for dessert… was meh. The chux breading of the éclair was not the way i like it. The filling was yum. They are not a chain… and use local ingredients… but that is not enough to go back. Next!

Nice clean restaurant. I was seated promptly, my server was very friendly and attentive. My main dish the almond spinach pasta was very tasty. It was a large portion so I have a meal for another day. It could have used a bit more spinach for my liking. It came with salad and bread. I chose the Greek salad that said«mixed greens». This was deceiving ad there was about ¼ green and the rest iceberg which in my book is not green. The dressing was tasty and there was ample feta cheese which I love. A few tomatoes and more green would have made it ideal. Over all a nice place. I recommend it and will return.

We loved it! All the food was fresh and super tasty. The lemon chicken rice soup was fabulous as was the lentil soup. The kids loved both too. I had the Greek salad, and added gyro meat it was really good. We’ll visit again when in town.

This is incredible Greek style food. Some of it is Greek inspired, some of it is authentic, but all of it is delicious and there is something for everyone! If you’re in Chattanooga and don’t come here for lunch or dinner you’re doing yourself a disservice. Very friendly and helpful staff, meals anyone can enjoy(even vegans) and a selection of desserts and coffee to drool over! The Greek term«Meraki» applies here — they put love and soul into what they do! And it shows!!!

My husband and I are in the area on business. We always try to find restaurants that are locally owned, or are at least not chains that we have in South Carolina. We were delighted with this restaurant! We were seated on their beautiful patio. For an appetizer, we ordered Saganaki, which comes flaming to the table. The cheese was delicious, but is a large portion for 2 people. I had an Irish special of corned beef over colcannon, which was probably the best corned beef I’ve ever had anywhere. My husband had chicken parm which he said was delicious. Portions are plentiful, and our service was excellent. We both ordered dessert to go because we were too full to eat there. However, with a dessert menu a mile long, we couldn’t resist! Strongly recommend! They have a bar, and we saw a number of people at the bar after work, but it’s great for families as well.

Had gyro sandwich with fries. The portion was decent but the meat flavor was not what I would expect. The Tzatziki Sauce was different than I’m used to I grew up in the Chicago area close to Greektown and this sandwich did not live up to any expectations that I would have had. Service was friendly and fast they have many interesting items on their menu but after this experience I don’t think I would try it again

I for some odd reason forget that this restaurant exists. I am ashamed to say it because I normally avoid the chain restaurants that inhabit most of the land around the mall area. Well, I also try to avoid the mall area too. Anywho, I must commit to memory that this nice little eatery is here when I am in the area. Ok, enough of my awful short term memory. I am limiting calories and was very surprised at the number of options I had. Greek food can be very tasty and healthy if you order the right thing. I started with a salad, which was perfect. Beautiful, just the right size, homemade dressing(I think). My entrée was a steak kabob with broccoli. It was quite good, not earth shattering, but was satisfying. My friends were all happy with their food too. I ordered a single cookie for dessert, can’t remember which one and it must not have been that exciting since I can’t remember it. A solid dinner place! We had excellent service, good food, just wish it wasn’t near the dreaded mall! Took off a star for location.

Oh my god i love this place! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere without that traditional gaudy medditeranean décor. Light and bright with white rock walls and white table cloths… All the while being REASONABLYPRICED. The food was so good i got some to go above my gift certificate. I had the greek anti pasta which had a little of a few different things. Moussaka was really good. I love greek cuisine and I’ve Had it all over the country. Spinach and cheese pies were yummy little deliciousness. I got a falafel pita but was too full after my sampler. Chicken rice AVROLEMONOSOUP was to die for! One of the best I’ve ever had! Rice pudding yummy too… The dessert case looked amazing and they are all house made. I will be back again FROM ATLANTa! Highly recommend this gem. Service was really fast and friendly too. Cant say enough good things here.

Very tasty food, and excellent service. Tastes like home The gyro is juicy and is one if the better ones around. It is not expensive, for the food you get you are getting a good deal. Family like place

Yum!!! Sooo goood! If you haven’t tried this place and you like greek food… What are you waiting for?! Good sized portions. Great tasting. Good service. Décor was fine… Meal was good… But I really want to talk about it the desserts! I would come back just for that! Baklava cheese cake. A layer of cheese cake with a layer of baklava on top!!! A great tasting! Very sugary but well worth it. I wanted more… Share? Um… Then I also had an assortment of cookies. And yes there is a place in the front where you can just order the cookies and desserts to go. Every cookie I tried was delicious. Great consistency and flavor. I could eat them all night… So why did I eat a meal before hand. Sigh… Should have shared a meal with my friend… And went straight for the desserts.

Once again, delicious, home cooked food. Even though it was rather busy for a Friday night we did not wait long for a table and our food still came quickly. We all had salads prior to our meal which were fresh, vibrant, and very appetizing. For entrees I had the grape leaves and let me tell you. … those are some of the best I’ve ever had. The owner was walking around and I happened to ask our server at that time if the grape leaves were made in house. The owner smiled and said they’re made daily from scratch. The server eluded that«maybe it’s her secret recipe!» These are very fresh and do not lack in flavor or seasonings. Stuffed with meat and rice they are perfect for an appetizer or as an entrée. Boyfriend had the gyro dinner(as usual) and was very happy with it. The meat was very flavorful. Boyfriends mother had the spanikopita which looked AMAZING. She said it was delicious. I didn’t try it but the phyllo dough was nice and golden brown and stuffed full of feta and spinach. She was very happy with her meal. Despite being busy, our server was great! Very attentive to our table(refils, checking on us) and took care of us in a timely manner. Great job Acropolis! Great customer serive, atmosphere, and food keep us coming back for more.

You had me at Cheese and Fire… Ooopah! The Saganaki is a must have. The Pot Roast was AMAZING! Slow roasted sirloin with braised carrots, onions, and celery over mashed potatoes… oh my. And I forgot the homemade bread! Another fave dish is the Gyros plate. Grilled gyro meat served with sliced pita, tomato relish, rice, pilaf and tzatziki sauce!!! The Fish and Chips are also a very good choice! Breaded North Atlantic Cod, fries, slaw and remoulade. The bar is fabulous, I had the Bellinis. The Hummingbird and Strawberry Cakes are my fave. If you cannot find something you like at this place… then you need to stay at home.

I’m happy that they updated the Grill. The food is decent. The desserts look incredible. I had the hummus and it was very tasty, as well as feta dip. Service is very good. I am currently handicapped and the floor in the restaurant is difficult to roll on as it’s textured stone. I enjoyed a nice long lunch with a great friend there. Very comfortable and we were not rushed. Acropolis is a nice change of pace.

This is one of the most disappointing restaurants in the Hamilton Place area. I have visited multiple times just hoping that my previous experience was an off day for the place, but I have never been impressed. The food is really bland and not memorable at all. I am a huge fan of Greek food, grew up near a large Greek community in the northeast, and have visited Greece. This is not Greek food. Maybe I’m biased because of my experiences. Maybe if you’ve never had Greek food you would love this place… But if you ever want to try true, authentic, delicious Greek food in Chattanooga, it’s not here. You’ll find it somewhere else if you look hard enough, but you won’t find it at Acropolis.
