I always have a great experience here, great food, good quantity, and decent price. There is always a wait, but only because so many people enjoy it.

Great experience! Great food/great choices! We ate at the bar because REALLY busy and was just the two of us. The bar staff was great! Fairly attentive for being at the bar. The reason I give them a 4 instead of 5 is because I was not able to sub my rice. That was weird. They cooked my food how I asked and didn’t make me feel like I was causing trouble asking it to be cooked a certain way. If you are going during weekend/busy hours be prepared to wait. As long as you’re ok with that and know ahead you should have great time!!!

Great prices + great quality food. A perfect combination for a great experience, especially for Valentine’s night! My significant other & I went to Cheddar’s for Valentine’s day night. We expected it to be packed, but we were seated immediately. The bacon cheeseburger is what won me over. My S/O ordered the smokehouse burger and loved it too. We frequently try new burger joints in an attempt to see if anyone can top our all-time favorite — Red Robin’s for him and Five Guys Burger and Fries for me(Red Robin’s back cheeseburger is my 2nd favorite). We haven’t found anyone who could replace our favorites in several years until we had Cheddar’s. I heard they were good, but didn’t expect it to become my favorite. I was even more surprised that they were able to top my S/O’s favorite burger(something from Red Robin’s that comes with onion straws.) Every ingredient, from the lettuce to the bacon was absolutely delicious. It’s been years since I’ve had a bacon cheeseburger with actual quality bacon. Even Red Robin’s has become low quality in the bacon department. It’s always rubbery, thin and stringy. Only a few bites of the 2 – 3 bacon strips are ever edible since most of it is that white fatty rubber crap. I was pleased that the burger from Cheddar’s came with plenty of bacon and it was crispy and edible. I even commented on how the mayonnaise was«real.» It’s so rare to have real ingredients these days, but our food tasted close to a homemade burger would, only better. I loved the bun too! Strange, but even the buns were delicious. I don’t know what kind of bread they use or how it’s done, but it seemed to be that Cheddar’s aims for quality in every single ingredient that goes into their burgers. On the smokehouse burger that my S/O ordered, there was onion straws, bacon, cheddar cheese, and some kind of mayo/bbq type of sauce(similar to what they put on most burgers that come with onion straws.) Our total came out at $ 28, which was a total surprise since it was V-day night and considering the size of the burgers and the order of appetizers + a large beer. Our total order was: the two burgers(mine was like $ 6 something and his was only $ 5 something, not sure why the price difference since they were similar but his had onion straws and mine did not), both came with fries, an order of tortilla chips that came with a queso sauce and salsa, a dr. pepper, a and a large beer. As for portion size, you may get a bit more chips and fries at other places, but you pay for it big time when the check comes. I was impressed at the size-to-price ratio. The queso was the best yet. Not the average white, bland stuff — it’s real cheese(finally!), thick, and comes with beef. Both the salsa and queso was slightly spicy and flavorful. The only things I didn’t love with were the fries and onion straws on my S/O’s burger. The onion straws were really greasy and soggy. Not crunchy and delicious like mini onion rings should be. Fries are also a big part of a burger meal to me, and I wasn’t impressed with theirs. They weren’t special and I didn’t even end up finishing them. They were kind of dry, perhaps not very fresh. The kind you can get choked on without a drink. We definitely left full before either of us could even finish our burgers or fries. I still had over half my burger when we left and yes, it was still delicious at 2am. The atmosphere was upbeat. Pop music playing a bit loudly, but pleasant since I wasn’t in the mood for quiet eating. I’d rather hear music than people’s crunching and clinking of forks. We could still hear each other talk okay, so it isn’t maddening. I loved the enormous fish tank and the fresh whimsical look when you walk in. It felt very clean and comfortable. The staff were perfect — not over-doing it, but stopping by enough that we never had empty drinks. There was a bit of a wait once we finally figured out what we wanted, but no longer than 35 minutes. Just enough that required a smoke break. People told us to expect a 2 hour wait and overpriced food. It was the complete opposite though. Cheddar’s is the perfect place for both burger and cheese lovers. I loved the homemade-quality menu items! They had different soups and burgers and almost everything on the menu sounded really delicious to me.

The wait was crazy long for lunch but my nachos were awsome. My husband’s steak while ordered medium, was very rare and the carrots undercooked. The staff was friendly. The cleanliness was fair but I did have to fish out a wet wipe and clean our table when we sat down.

The food was ok. Unfortunately the service wasn’t very good. The server really gave us a WTF moment at the end of the meal. Three of the four children with us ordered kids meals which includes a drink. The bill came and included those drinks for $ 2.29 per child. When she came for the credit card, we let her know that she had charged us for the kids drinks. She didn’t understand. We then reminded her that the kids meals come with drinks. She let us know that she just rang them up for adult drinks instead because the kids drinks come in small plastic cups. Gee, thanks for deciding to spend an extra $ 6.87 plus tax of our money for us. We gave her that look like we couldn’t believe what she just told us and she looked at us for like a second and then walked away. So there goes future business from us. A large party of Hispanics walked in right as we were about to leave our booth. The group was so large that they took up three large booths around us. Her body language and eye rolling made it very clear that she didn’t want to wait on the group. I carefully listened to how she greeted the table that backed up to us and felt really bad for how they were treated. I won’t give her name but she’s in the wrong business.

I stopped by and picked up a gift card for a Christmas present. Accidentally left my debit card behind, I went back about 10 minutes later once I realized it was missing. I spoke to the manager and my card was found and waiting on me when I went back. Thanks Cheddars, have a bountiful Holiday season! On yea, the food is great too.

I went to a restaurant and all the floor was dirty! I waited more than 25 minutes for food! Beer was free of bubbles. The waiter was very nice! And the food was decent level. I’m sorry but I did not enjoy. Prices at the restaurant are very good!

Cheddars is really good. I don’t go often, but when I do, I’ve never had a bad experience. And I love their adult beverages. They have this onion appetizer thing, I love it. it is really, really good. It is always packed there, but that is because you can’t be the price!

I was asked to come here by my sister and brother and law based on there positive experiences at this location. However when we arrived we were seated at a dirty table; we waited for twenty minutes and no one so much as greeted us. A couple came in seated in our same section after we waited for twenty minutes and they were greeted and served immediately. We then got up and left the restaurant. No one asked us why we were leaving or what our experience was… nothing. I was thoroughly disappointed by the service or I should say lack of service I received and felt totally disregarded by their lack of concern.

We have been trying to get into this place for 3 months. But the long lines always made us turned away. We finally decided to go here and waited it out. The staff was great so was the food. So glad we went. Can’t wait to go again. The waiter was very attentive to my daughter. We ordered the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert. Delish

This place is always packed, always. I think the main reason is price. The food selection is priced very reasonably for a sit down non-fast food restaurant. The quality is slightly below Applebee’s/Chili’s but still pretty good, again nice prices. We were seated right away and our server was pretty attentive and did a solid job. This is a family place so it was full of kids and pretty loud. The décor is nice and it reminded me a little of Carraba’s but not as dark. I’m not sure I’d go back. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t a standout either. I guess you could say I got what I expected: casual dining at a great price.

First of all, the bad things. This place is really good, so there is always a significant wait to get home. However, everyone in our party order the Montecristo sandwich and it is amazing every time. Above-average food and good service here.

When it comes to reviewing restaurants and service I am very hard. I give this review 2stars only because the service is always great. I’ve been to this restaurant five times now and every single time the food is always absolutely cold. Now don’t get me wrong I understand mistakes happen, and you’re not always going to get a perfect dish. But when you continuously get the same product then it raises the question who are the cooks/chef. But this review is not all negative the restaurant is always clean and it seems that there are always super busy. Have to give a shout out to Cheddar’s on their busy lunch and dinner time. But I really think the cooks need to pay more attention to detail because the food could be heated up before it serve to a customer. Appetizers and beers seem to always come out great it’s just the entrées. But in all I would still recommend Cheddar’s as a great place to dine or have lunch with family or solo. The prices you just cannot be in the atmosphere is one that you can enjoy a meal and a great conversation. Happy Eating my friends. — BigCat

Opened on December 16th of 2013 this is one Chattanooga’s finest restaurants. I remember when this was a parking lot for Walmart customers. I know because I used to park my car in this parking lot. A couple features I saw were a fish tank and a big pole spinning around on the ceiling with a bunch of fans on it. menu items ordered: fried catfish, macoroni and cheese, buttered corn, and sweet tea of course. First if all, they brought plenty of big portions of each item ordered. The catfish was fried and was great as it came with tartar sauce which I like with it. The macoroni and cheese was good as it came with sprinkles of cheese on top of it which gave it a special taste. The corn was so good I ate it first. It needed no salt for taste as it was just right. Finally the sweet tea was the best as I has to have 3 refills of it. Maybe even 4. In summary, if parking lot is full just park in the Walmart parking lot as it is right next door. I did and only had to walk maybe 100 feet to Cheddars. Altogether, I will come back as this was my very first visit to Cheddars. I was impressed.

Updated review: I gave cheddar’s a second chance when my teenager begged to go for lunch. She claimed the fried shrimp were amazing. And I had remembered seeing a ginormous stack of onion rings that looked equally amazing. So off we go. we went for lunch on a Saturday and were immediately seated. Our server was at first very polite and attentive. I ordered the onion rings and grilled fish tacos with black beans. Daughter had the fried shrimp. Our food took a good while to arrive and when it did wasn’t hot. The onion rings I think were sitting back in the kitchen a while as they were supposed to be an appetizer and came with our meals. They were the least hot of the food. They were tasty. Not my favorite onion rings and they were heavy on the salt. Still decent. Daughter loved them. My tacos were quite good, as were the black beans. Fish was perfectly seasoned and grilled. Lovely slaw and a spicy sauce. I will order again. I did try one of the shrimp and they were very good too. Just not hot enough. The prices are great for the amount of food you get. I may come back again… We’ll see.

If I had to define a «nice» place in restaurant words = good. It’s ”good” Cheddar’s is nice and good. I ordered a salad and then tortilla soup, and for the grand finale some baby back ribs. It was good. I ordered some sweet tea(½ and ½) and it was good. Service was very nice and the place was clean and good. Check it out if you want nice and good, in Chattanooga!

Basic food; decent service; basic flavour & taste. Tea was watery and overly-sweet. I had the Philly Cheese — Far too many onions, and a strange grade of greasy cheese. My side of broc /rice cass was simply awful. Monty sandwich was far too salty and featured doughy areas within. I can’t imagine returning to this location, unless driven in by a freak snowstorm. Our waitress pulled my review up from a one-star rating.

I try to avoid chains at all costs… This was inevitable. This place just oozes the typical repetitive banter that annoys me most with chain restaurants and retail. Cheesy, fake attitudes by the waitstaff. I guess the experience wasn’t terrible, but I will not return. Not for any reason, except that I was given no reason to enjoy it.

So today, another visit from my wonderful parents, up from Atlanta. Boy — did we get a lot done in a few short hours! And that included a quite pleasant lunch at Cheddar’s. This is a chain, it is a little ambitious in scope of the menu — but bottom line? It’s Houston’s-lite, J Alexander’s-lite-lite, that kind of food. And it’s good. This is solid casual American fare, so to speak. Huge place and at after 2pm on a Wed, I was surprised by how busy it was! I’d heard they do a consistently hopping business, but didn’t expect it at this linner hour. Prompt seating, nice staff, good server(Zach). We were more interested in talking to each other than being in deep thought over the menu — plus we sat in one of the back areas of the restaurant, so we had opportunity to check out plates on folks’ tables as we passed and see food being taken to other diners… we had to start with the spinach dip — out of habit when it looks as yummy as theirs did at other people’s tables — and it was really good. Spinachy and artichokey with an interesting seasoning(something different than I have had but much liked) and a dollop of sour cream on top that was nicely warmed on top of the hot dip. Mom and I went for the same — the double decker club sandwich with fries, which was even better than it looked at the handful of tables where we had gotten a peek, and Dad, in a salad mood, got the fried chicken salad. Score for CN — I got to bring home half my sandwich(I just finished it for dinner, hee). HP is chock full of chains, and Cheddar’s is a runner up to J A’s for my pick when doing all my Big Box food and shopping in this part of town!
