*** my 300th review — yay!!! *** Not gonna lie — when me and the BFF rolled up we were like ummmmm… sketch. The check in gentleman was rather brusque but for $ 100 for the night with no other options available that weekend, we would take what we could get and we would like it. Once we opened the door to the room, though, we were pleasantly surprised! The two queen beds were comfy and updated with newer linens. The room was rather large, and we had a very nice large flat screen TV and a refrigerator that was very cold. There was also a microwave that we didn’t need to use. The bathroom is very outdated and looked suspect, so we didn’t shower. Girls can do that sort of thing without judgement from each other, since the ability to hide the stank is greater than the risk of contracting something from suspect facilities. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Did it satisfy the needs for a down and dirty trip to C’ville for a concert at JPJ Arena, a few hours of sleep, and then getting on the road to head back to DC? Absolutely.

Not the best, not the worst. Very fair for the price they charge for the room. Room was clean, bed was OK. Toilet was broken but that’s probably because the previous tenant didn’t report it. Overall, I would stay there again.

Not sure where to start. Roaches. About 5 of em roamed over the bedroom and even the bathroom. You could hear everything from the next rooms, and the room right above. The rooms seemed old, badly painted and poorly lit. The parking lot was loud 24⁄7 with random shouting and honking horns. Breakfast was lazy — nothing warm or fresh. You might as well as mom to put out cereal for you like you’re a pet. I would have been better at a bed n’ breakfast. In Syria. And not Syria, Va.

The hotel is located in a very busy area. There are several hotels nearby and some malls located within walking distance/a very short drive. Parking is available but you may need street parking if it is well booked. The rooms had what we needed. Some items in the bathroom were rusted and the bathroom had some moldy spots on the ceiling. There was nothing glaringly wrong. Beds were comfortable. Make sure you have a clock because there was none in our room. There was a lot of noise that could be heard through the walls and ceiling. If you stay here I would request a second floor room in the case that there are noisy neighbors. The continental breakfast was very small. If you need a big breakfast, don’t expect it here.

I was a bit apprehensive rolling in here, but for what you are paying, it’s pretty decent. The outside is a bit sketch, and the neigborhood a bit iffy, but the rooms are cleans, the wi-fi works, and there is a fridge and microwave. Pretty much all I need when I’m going budget traveler route. Walls are a bit thin, and it was a bit noisy on a Friday/Saturday night, but I could chalk that up to being UVA move-in weekend. Remember, folk — it’s an EconoLodge, not the Ritz. But I survived just fine, and I’d stay there again given how cheap it was.

You get what you pay for. If all you need is a place to lay your head then this sorta fits the bill. For $ 50 your expectations must be pretty low. We were on the first floor and heard people walking about up stairs at 3am. And when they took a shower at 4am we heard that too. When we first walked in there was a bit of a stench but we got over it. It appears clean but something feels dirty about it… maybe its just the clientele.

@Ponderosa_music — Okay its an econo lodge, and its $ 49+ tax. of course its going to be a little seedy. But when traveling with 5 boys in a band and you need a hotel this is where you go. Everyone was drunk, needed to sleep, and needed a shower. IF they showered is another story. I think not, as its hard to have rockstar hair when its all pretty and clean. dirty dirty boys. 2 rooms, 4 beds, everyone passed out and woke up totally refreshed to head off to VA beach from here. Cable tv, Smoking rooms, consistent air conditioning, and amazingly enough– SILENCE. We slept like babies. But that could have been all the jim bean.

I checked into this MOTEL not a hotel. It was a little creepy. First, I was not checked in initially because he said I looked 14. Then I was put in a room in the back on the floor level. Why would you let two girls have a room on the ground level when there were plenty others available. The rooms appeared clean, but felt dirty. I checked out early and slept somewhere else.
